WHO LEFT THAT THERE?

Daniel Ugo is a foreign transfer student at Iruka High School, Tokyo, Japan. He is 6'1'', very athletic, average in academics, caramel skin, and has been enjoying his stay in the school so far. Why wouldn't he? He's an 'Otaku' that's overly excited to be in the land where it all began. His father had moved from the states to Japan on a four-year contract, which meant he could finish his sophomore to senior year (Grade10 - Grade12).

Now Daniel was in Iruka high and thing were going to be different this time. Since he was known for his goal poaching skills in school it wasn't a stretch for him to be popular. He went to the female volley ball practice and was seen talking to a female junior (11th grade) at the bleachers. She was in her uniform which consisted of a small brown crop top shirt that exposed her abs and brown sport shorts that revealed her thick long legs. Some of Daniel's classmates who were sophomores saw this and told themselves that they would laugh at him after he got rejected again but buy him his favourite ramen after for having the guts to go for someone in a higher grade.

Then Daniel was seen kissing her in the shades of the bleachers. NANI! Was what his classmates thought mutually as they saw the scene unfold before their very eyes!

"He… He betrayed us!" Izumi proclaimed.

"I thought we would all remain single together." Suzu added.

"I can't believe I invited him to play games at my house." Ryu said in defeat.

"Let's blow this matter in class." Tobi exclaimed.

His classmates complained in unison but at the same time they were happy for him. If he wins, this means the collective group of Otaku's won't be seen as weird any more. They decided to keep this to themselves until they met Daniel.

"Daniel-sama, teach this lowly worm your ways." Ryu said smiling.

"I am not worthy, but please accept my congratulations!" Suzu said happily as he slapped his back.

Daniel left bleachers and a blushing girl behind as he walked to the field and was harassed by his classmates. Apparently they saw what had transpired and were in awe. He smiled at their teasing and left with them to their famous ramen spot.

Daniel and his classmates celebrated his 'conquest' at the ramen shop they frequented.

"So you mean you guys have been seeing each other for a week now?" Tobi asked.

"Allow this peasant to call you brother. You are my brother indeed Daniel-Sama! You also like thighs too." Ryu added.

"Anya Senpai is actually the best in the female volleyball team. The way she takes care of her body, her long black hair, her melons that exude grace with each bounce, her pale milky skin, her stern gaze at the losers that gawk at her, Daniel-sempai, I HATE YOUR BASTARD LUCK!" Izumi proclaimed passionately.

Daniel slapped the back of Izumi's head. Maybe this slap will set him back to factory settings like his dad did a year ago. If it were that simple Izumi would be successful with girls too. His firm belief in total submission to the opposite sex didn't sit right with Daniel and the group but they were used to it. They believe one day, they will bring him to the light soon.

"Snap out of it Izumi, I am not your sempai! Funny enough, after me you are the one with the best physique here and the one with the most attractive face in our group. You would even have more success than me if you stepped up Izumi-kun." Daniel responded.

"Yeah, Izumi I'd kill to get your body." Tobi said with envy.

"I'll follow Daniel-sama during his early morning runs from now on, if the Lord permits, I suggest we all follow him. Izumi is fine but the rest of us need to get in shape badly." Ryu advised.

"Ryu-kun, stop with all the 'Lord' thing okay?" Daniel said as he finished his third bowl of ramen.

"Forgive this lowly worm, your rizzness!" Ryu said as the group burst out in laughter.

The group ate their fill and left together for home. They dispersed after walking to the point where the road to their home diverged.

"Sayonara, matashita!" Daniel said in Japanese to bid his farewell and hoped to see them again tomorrow.

"Sayonara, Daniel-sama!"

'These guys. No wonder Anya said she needed a week before we go public.' Daniel thought as he walked home.

It was evening and there was still a bit of daylight left in the sky. The wind registered its presence in the street Daniel walked in as he rubbed his hands together for warmth. The sound of two people fighting and grunting nearby could easily be picked up by anyone. In fact, it was so loud, that Daniel thought it was a trap. Maybe someone was using a speaker or something. He simply shrugged and continued walking home.

But the strange thing was that with the fight was that with every hit, the ground shook. The residents living inside their houses thought it was just a foreshock. The news hadn't announced anything relating to an earthquake in the area so they weren't even bothered. Daniel on the other hand was. What kind of beasts were fighting that the earth shook beneath him?

He decided against better judgment to trace where the sound was coming from, peep then leave.

He was at the edge of an alleyway and turned his head to peep. What he saw was something he wouldn't have imagined. Something he wouldn't believe even if you told him.

There was nothing.

Except for a tear in space that revealed what looked like outer space. He heard a grunt and soon after the earth shook but the colour in that space that looked so bright with stars turned white and nearly blinded Daniel. But that effect started sucking in everything like a vacuum cleaner. Daniel tried to run away but couldn't. Trash cans, newspapers, Iron railings, and such things in the vicinity were sent into that space. Daniel felt himself slowly entering that white space. He tried to scream for help but his voice wasn't even released from his mouth.

'Damn it. What is happening? Is that a black hole? But aren't they usually black? If I die now, Dad will be all alone. C'mon, let's try a little harder.'

Daniel thought and struggled in futility.

Suddenly he was inside the white space. Immediately after, the space that was torn open in the alleyway vanished!

Daniel's thoughts stopped. His body was floating in a destroyed universe. Silence. The absolute silence that teachers craved in a noisy class was found here. Daniel was neither dead nor alive, as life cannot exist in that destroyed universe. He was an anomaly, an alien to that part of space. The materials that followed him were also foreign matter in that space.

Daniel's eyes opened and saw a hand approach him. A finger the size of his body touched him.

"We can talk later, but accept this as an apology" The hand proclaimed.

Another blinding light enveloped him.

"WHO ARE YOU? SHOW YOURSELF!" Daniel screamed frantically as beads of sweat trickled down his face.

'What the.' Daniel thought as felt the surface beneath him as 'soft'.

The blinding light around him faded and he drowned in darkness until he heard a loud noise.

"Shuu-sama! Are you finally awake?" A woman in a maid outfit rushed in.

"Shuu? What are you saying? Where am I?"

"Thank God! Kanae, inform the family head about Shuu's recovery!" She said as she looked back at the door.

"But of course!" Kanae Von Rosewald replied.

"Shuu-sama, are you okay?" She said as he approached the bed.

"No. No way, I must be dreaming." Daniel said as he palmed his face.

'Why is my hair long? I am really Tsukiyama Shuu from the anime; Tokyo Ghoul. What the hell happened? I am sure I died or passed out and that ugly hand.' Daniel thought as he felt a pain in his head.

"Ugh. Please leave me alone for a moment." Daniel beckoned the maid to leave.

"I am just outside the door if you need anything Shuu-sama." She said with a look of worry on her face.

'Damn, my dad must be looking for me. I really hope he is okay.' Daniel thought to himself with a solemn expression as he got out of bed. He walked to a mirror and saw his reflection.

'I am really that bastard huh? Well, I am quite tall. This body isn't bad, but it needs some work. What am I even doing here and how do I get back?' Daniel's head was filled with thoughts as he walked to what he knew from Shuu's memory to be the bathroom.

'Whoa, hold on. If I have his memories and I am here in his place. Oh no, Dad will be able to sniff the imposter in him. Maybe Mirumo (Shuu's father) might too?' Daniel surmised as he turned on the cold shower but soon turned it off.

'I haven't worked out yet.' Daniel prompted himself as he was already naked in the shower and walked back to his room which looked as big as the sitting room in his dad's house. His father was well off but the Tsukiyama wealth couldn't be used as a fair comparison.

He let himself fall and stopped his body from hitting the floor with his arms in a push-up position. He went down then up.

'Holy…' Daniel proclaimed in his mind.

He almost hit the ceiling just because he performed one push-up.

'It's like I weigh as much as a feather. What is going on?' Daniel questioned himself as he landed uprightly on the floor.

He remembered that Ghouls were not humans. Even someone like Nishio Nishiki could kick an adult male like Hideyoshi Nagachika with ease as if he were a football. And Nishio right now is even weaker than Shuu.

'Anyway, I'll have to control my new body better. Let's resume!' Daniel thought as he started doing archer push-ups up to a hundred easily. He switched to Spartan push-ups, another hundred. Then Diamond push-ups, a hundred as well. He decided to rest for a minute even though his body felt like it could continue. He continued with one-arm push-ups, one hundred for each arm. Then he did two hundred burpees and rested for a minute and twenty seconds. He then struggled with two hundred finger push-ups. He struggled because he believes in doing push-ups correctly, all the way up and all the way down with just a few centimeters between the floor and his body. He added one hundred knuckle push-ups and one last hundred pike push-ups for good measure.

Now he was already sweating, he proceeded to do three hundred squats.

As he was in the middle of it, Matsumae, an employee of the Tsukiyama household, walked into the presence of a dashingly handsome lad who was wet with his sweat, hands behind his head squatting and his 'appendage' in full view. If she were human she would have passed out at the sight of him, but after all, she is a ghoul. She blushed heavily and stood there frozen instead.
