Even Jack did not expect Shuu to be so arrogant as to counterattack him after he released his kagune, he raised his arms to block the attack but was still blown away by the force behind Shuu's kick.

"You're strong." Jack said in a crouched position as he tried to get up but saw Shuu in front of him again following up with a high kick that launched him in the air.

'He's fast as well! My kagune didn't strike hard enough to bruise his skin. Once I do that, the match would end.' Jack thought to himself but defended himself by raising his arms and wrapping himself in his kagune in quick succession.

"Hmm, he's at least quick enough to defend himself." Shuu said as he landed on the ground at the same time Jack landed. Without wasting precious seconds, senior Jack launched his thorn-like tendrils at random angles around Shuu.

Shuu saw the tendrils coming fast in his direction but he immediately activated his kakugan and everything began to slow down in front of him. Shuu began taking the quickest route to his opponent while dodging Senior Jack's tendrils.

"Not bad." One of the female senior disciples present commented.

"Yes, but you know, there's one annoying thing about Jack's kagune…" another female senior disciple added.

"We call it the endless thorn. I could have beat him but…" said the only male senior disciple watching with the group which caused the rest of the senior disciples to click their tongues in annoyance.

'What's this? It's like his kagune doesn't want to end. I keep dodging and dodging but my target seems so far away. This annoying, if I jump to cover the distance that would only expose me.' Shuu thought as he ran away from the attack.

But the tendrils kept following him like a sea of thorns that kept destroying the terrain.

"Why don't you face me, you coward?!" Shuu exclaimed as he kept running away from the myriad of thorns that followed him relentlessly.

"Why does everyone give that excuse? If you can't even touch me, that only means you are weaker than me! Knowing your place sooner will save you from depression. Look at me I am the top dog here, you challenged the alpha here and expect to get away with it?" Senior Jack said as he wore a wide smile and was feeling ecstatic with himself. His peers would like to say something about him being the alpha but their losses to him sealed their complaints.

"You know, I hate Jack's guts." One of the female senior disciples said.

"Still, this one is lasting long against him." Another female senior disciple added.

"He can run all he wants but even Shuu should know when it's futile. This is Jack's win." The male senior disciple concluded.

"I would say, Shuu is still holding back. He hasn't even used his kagune." Tien Jr said.

"Holding back or not, he is losing now. Maybe his kagune isn't fit to counter Jack's." The senior male disciple said.

"Why are you running? Just accept your loss!" Senior Jack said, high on his rookie-crushing moment.

'Should I just remove the weights on my legs? I should be able to reach him instantly!' Shuu thought but let go of that idea. He remembered why he was pursuing strength so badly so as to avoid the tragic outcome of the Tsukiyama household.

'How do I apply the wind arts offensively and defensively? How? How?' Shuu thought as he laughed out loud when a conclusion came to his mind.

"Have you gone crazy from desperation?" Senior Jack asked as his smile grew wider.

Shuu then stopped running and faced the barrage of thorn-like tendrils coming his way.

'If I was the wind how would I react to this?' Shuu thought as he took a deep breath.

'Is he giving up already? And here I was thinking he was a new talent.' Tien jr thought to himself with folded arms.

Shuu joined his palms and shot them forward as if parting the sea. The wave of thorn-like tendrils crashed on him and soon swallowed his body.

"What a fool! Do you think you can block my kagune… what?" Senior Jack paused as he looked for Shuu's body but couldn't see which caused him to retract his kagune.

What he saw put a frown on his face since no one he fought had ever blocked his kagune with their hands and only suffered light injuries

"He blocked it! He blocked it with his body!" The male senior disciple exclaimed in the group that watched.

"You are forgetting what it means for that bastard's kagune to leave a mark on your body. Don't get excited too soon." A female senior disciple with blonde hair who had been quiet the whole time spoke up.

Cecilia was a blonde with short hair and an athletic body. She rarely spoke at all, but this spar surprisingly made her make a comment that everyone agreed on, Senior Jack's kagune abilities were built to annoy his opponent.

After senior Jack retracted his Kagune, Shuu could be seen with his body lowered, his palms clasped together and arms pointed forward.

'Instead of acting like the wind, I acted like the rock. Wait, what's happening to me?' Shuu thought to himself as he noticed something strange about his body.

"You've finally noticed huh? I have to say, your body is probably the most durable amongst the entire senior disciples with exceptions like Cecilia and Ray. But the end was inevitable, surrender and submit yourself to me. You seem promising and strong enough to become my underling." Senior Jack said as he walked slowly from his position to Shuu's position.

"You challenged me, so I can do whatever I want apart from kill you so you better become my underling now before I do something you will regret for life." Senior Jack said as we came closer to Shuu.

'Move, move. Move already!' Shuu screamed in his mind as his body remained motionless.

'Is this another ability of his kagune? Does it paralyze the opponent? How useful.' Shuu thought but senior Jack was already in front of him.

"If you surrender just say so, if not keep quiet." Senior Jack said and in the next second a single-thorned tendril came out of his back and with speed and a lot of power managed to pierce Shuu's lower back.

"No! Why didn't I say anything to stop this?" Cecilia said as she screamed in horror.

Shuu was in horror not because of the pain he felt but when he saw the information on his system he frowned and let go of his rationale.
