A NEW CREATURE.

"I am leaving the country for a while." Shuu said.

"This time I will escort you." Mairo said seriously.

"Thanks. But this isn't any normal trip, I don't even know if I'll come back alive from this one." Shuu said with a smile and a look that portrayed a thousand-mile stare.

"What do you mean by this, Shuu-sama?" Yuuma asked.

"A few months from now I'll be taking my leave for China. Now, listen closely. I am going to explain what your objectives are for the coming months. Our meeting will have to be postponed till further notice." Shuu said as he walked towards his table and began discussing and giving out roles to lay and duties to be carried out.

"It doesn't matter where I go actually. The patriarch will always know where I am so you can relax." Shuu said reassuringly for the tenth time to Mairo.

"Before I leave, I'll leave a training schedule and manual for Matsumae and Mairo to use for themselves and the rest of us. When I come back, you better be S-rank fodder Yuuma!" Shuu said with a smirk to Yuuma who in turn who inturn wore a face of betrayal.

"S… S rank? I am grateful that you even think that highly of me but, I don't know if I can." Yuuma said as he looked at the floor.

"Pft, you think S-rank is for the specially gifted or abled? Anyone can be S-rank with time. I think what happened in Germany should remind you about the consequences of staying like this now. If I was any weaker back then, it could have been bad." Shuu said but Yuuma looked at him as if that explanation wasn't enough.

"And besides you are a ghoul. Your capabilities are beyond that of a normal human. You can afford to take risks normal people can't. You can make runs that would make people think that you are doped or something. You all can do this." Shuu said as he stood up and walked to his door.

"Call the rest of the gang." Shuu ordered.

Yuuma was surprised by his wording but nodded and did as he was told. And soon after, Aliza, Yuuma, Mairo, Matsumae, and Kanae were briefed in his room and given different roles and duties to carry out before and after he left.

Two months passed by in a flash and it was time for Shuu to head back to Germany. Only this time he asked Doctor Chigyou to fly to Japan, all expenses paid. The doctor couldn't say no when he was also given the chance to work with a live specimen.

The doctor arrived on time and was greeted by Mairo at the airport and was taken to a hospital where everything was set. The duo arrived at the hospital and were escorted to a back gate for staff only. From there they made their way to a room on the second floor. The doctor had a briefcase in his hand that he held close to him as he climbed his way up the stairs to the floor where an operating room and its residents waited for him.

Doctor Chigyou was guided to the room and he was soon surrounded by assistants who quickly carried out sanitary measures on the doctor such as the provision of clean water and soap to wash his hands with, gloves, a hairnet, and so on. The doctor then approached the briefcase which was already ajar at this point and anesthesia was already administered to the patient. Doctor Chigyou requested an injection which he used to extract fluid from a sample bottle. The sample bottle had some concentrated Rc cells that have been worked on and tested on guinea pigs, this current test subject would be the first human test subject that Doctor Chigyou would try it on.

The doctor flicked the injection a little then passed the fluid directly inside the patient's body through the venous system. The doctor immediately asked for the monitor display that showed the patient's vitals in numbers and graphs and told the nurses to be on standby and be ready for anything. Shuu and Matsumae just arrived and were sanitized and given medical garments before they could be around the doctor or the table. Mairo was also present, the doctor needed them there in case of anything. This was unchartered territory after all.

The patient's body jolted upwards by itself as if an exorcism was taking place in the theatre.

"Hold the patient down already! I need the patient to be stable!" Doctor Chigyou barked orders through his face mask as he switched to another interface in the display monitor that showed him a live feed brain scan.

"Oh my… Nurse! Get me a scalpel quickly! I also need a… a… What's that thing that cuts the skull?" Doctor Chigyous eyes widened when he saw the brain scans and Immediately rushed to the table.

"Get him a cranial drill already!" A male nurse scolded another as he passed a scalpel to the doctor.

After a few minutes, a nurse provided Doctor Chigyou with a cranial drill, which the latter snatched from his hand with haste.

"Lights." Doctor Chigyou requested as he started a uniform cut across the patient's forehead.

After an hour of delicate surgery, the patient continued convulsing on the bed. The heart rate on the patient monitor was drastically reducing while it made out beeping sounds. The Rc cells that were overloaded in the body were about to shut the nervous system down earlier and now were threatening the entire physiology altogether. The organs in the body had already undergone a reformation process one organ at a time and now it was the heart that was the last organ to be reformed.

"Doctor, we are losing the patient!" An intern nurse panicked behind the doctor's ear.

"No kidding Kimi! Do you think you can scream a little louder so I can hear you and the patient monitor better?" Doctor Chigyou screamed back at the nurse without looking back. The patient was still jolting about on the table as Doctor Chigyou reached for an injection that had the size of a person's forearm and stabbed the needle right through the patient's sternum!

The heart had finally reformed successfully and the patient's condition was now stable. The nurses in the theatre heaved a sigh of relief after four hours of intense surgery. Doctor Chigyou felt the atmosphere getting lighter and wasn't having any of that.

"Would you all sanitize the patient, the table, and the whole place already? If I had known I was working with amateurs I would have done this myself!" Doctor Chigyou bellowed at the nurses who immediately started. He shook his head in disbelief and wondered what backwater university and organization awarded them with a degree and license to work as nurses.

Shuu, Mairo, and Matsumae were present and watched the whole thing from a distance with dread and anticipation. Doctor Chigyou after cleaning himself immediately came to them and told them to follow him outside.

They all changed out of their garments and facemasks apart from Shuu who kept the face mask on.

"I am guessing you are wondering how it went right?" Doctor Chigyou said as he leaned forward on the corridor railings and looked at the night sky with a long sigh. Shuu only trained his focus on the Doctor and waited to hear his report.

"It's a miracle that the kid is even alive. And I don't use that term lightly. That kid must have some strong determination or will to push through all that. Do you know the lady that was in charge of the anesthetics had to administer at least five doses in the course of the surgery?" Doctor Chigyou said with a smile on his face.

Shuu only wondered how someone like him could even operate on a person with his hair covering his eyes most of the time.

"You have a real talent for finding me good specimen to work with I mean good people to save." Doctor Chigyou coughed as if to save himself from being too honest.

"Thank you anyway, Mairo will handle the payments." Shuu said as he reared to leave.

"No, don't worry about it. You actually funded me with exceptional tools to work with the other time and sorry to say but you even managed to get someone to legally sign off on this surgery amongst other things. In more ways than one, you are broadening my horizon in this field of study." Doctor Chigyou replied as stretched his hand for a handshake.

"Mairo will handle the payments and I will get you even better tools to work with soon." Shuu proclaimed as he shook the doctor's hand carefully this time. A shine could be seen in Doctor Chigyous's eyes as he tried to hide his excitement behind his smile.

"Alright then I'll take my leave now." Shuu said as he walked away as Matsumae and Mairo followed behind.

"Oh and there's this really good coffee shop in the twentieth ward called Anteiku, you should try it. The owner is a nice old man, tell him I referred you." Shuu said with his back to the doctor and waved once.

''Anteiku, alright then." Doctor Chigyou smiled and walked back into the theater only to be agitated that the nurses hadn't even finished cleaning already!

'Is it me or did that boy lose a little body mass?' Doctor Chigyou thought but soon brushed it off.

"What the? Even my grandma is faster than this and she's dead!" The doctor bellowed at the nurses slowly cleaning up the room.

My keyboard is getting worse. I am really ashamed about the way I have been handling my Patreon with so much slack and a carefree attitude. Faster updates are coming there, just have to deal with this keyboard.
