33 Chapter 32: And the Winner Is...

Ruo Yin went with all her power, hatred, and focus to kill You Xie, but she was weak compared to the stone's power. You Xie easily dismissed Ruo Yin with a wave of his hand which would have sent her flying a lot farther if it were not for Zhan Luo who caught her just in time.

"This is why you don't go fighting all stubbornly in battle," Zhan Luo muttered.

"You need time to cast the sealing spell, I will make time, trust me," Ruo Yin replied. Before Zhan Luo could reply, Ruo Yin was already on her feet again and giving commands to General Zhang and his army.

The general's army quickly divided themselves into two groups. The first group stayed with the general defending them from the Demon Clan soldiers while the other group helped Ruo Yin distract the Demon Lord as Zhan Luo prepared the sealing spell.

"You old bastard and you wretched little girl! The both of you are betraying the Demon Clan. Do you like to be treated like shit?" You Xie roared. His body was also transforming as he continued borrowing the stone's power. His face was starting to turn to an ashy color, while his eyes from black were starting to turn to a deep red.

"We need to stop him soon," Ruo Yin thought as she and the soldiers, with no success, tried to break the barrier spell that You Xie had cast.

Zhan Luo had already started chanting the sealing spell, but the Demon Lord was not going to let anyone or anything from stopping him from reaching victory.

"You are all foolish!" He roared with a smile plastered on his face, "Surrender now and I could still consider letting you live as beggars in my reign!"

Ruo Yin knew that their attempt to break the Demon Lord's barrier was futile. They were just wasting their energy. "What other way could I distract him?" Ruo Yin thought. She saw her surroundings and noticed that General Zhang's army would not hold much longer, she needed a solution fast. That is when the idea struck her. It was a risky idea, but it was worth the try.

She silently retreated to a blind spot that You Xie could not see her and she did a disguise spell to look just like her mother when she was younger.

"Let's hope he is crazy enough to believe mom was revived," Ruo Yin said in a small voice. She then came out again in front of You Xie.

"Fei Yan, is that you?" You Xie asked. His eyes became focused for a second.

"Well, it's working better than what I thought," Ruo Yin got closer to the Demon Lord. Yet, a problem arises, Ruo Yin did not know how her mother addressed the Demon Lord.

"Yes, it's me..." Ruo Yin replied to the Demon Lord giving him a warm smile.

"My Xiao Yan, how come? I must be hallucinating. You are dead," You Xie said.

"He is totally unhinged. You can do it, Ruo Yin, you can get close enough to kill him," Ruo Yin said in her mind trying to gather courage.

"I got revived by the stone. I realized my mistakes, You Xie, I should have never left you," Ruo Yin said her skin getting goosebumps from saying such a horrible lie. May her parents in their graves forgive her.

The Demon Lord was faltering. He could not believe that Fei Yan was in front of him again and this time, she was willing to accept him. "No matter what I swore, she is definitely my weakness," You Xie thought remembering how his love looked when they were both young.

"Xiao Yan, please come closer..." You Xie said extending both of his arms.

"Bullseye!" Ruo Yin thought as she tried to contain herself from running over there just to stab him.

Zhan Luo could see through Ruo Yin's disguise spell, but he knew that if he did not finish chanting the spell fast, everyone was doomed.

He was sure that both of them were going to die in this battle like what they saw already in Si Ming's prophecy, there simply was no way to prevent it. He could just hope that Si Ming could manage to save Ruo Yin's spirit so she could have another opportunity of living, even if he was not there anymore.

Ruo Yin just needed to walk a few more steps and she would be in a close enough distance to stab You Xie. Suddenly, the Demon Lord's face changed, and he looked angry.

"You, little wretched girl!" He shouted as he grabbed Ruo Yin by her hair close to the scalp and killed the soldiers of General Zhang who had tried to kill him.

"No!" Ruo Yin yelped as her hair was being pulled. She knew that You Xie had seen through her spell.

General Zhang then turned around to see what was happening and saw Ruo Yin in You Xie's hands. Zhan Luo then gestures to him to help Ruo Yin.

"You Xie, stop it! How can you be so cruel to her? Wasn't killing her parents enough?" General Zhang spoke.

"Cruel? You don't know a thing General Zhang," You Xie said as he dragged Ruo Yin by her hair, "Cruel is a daughter who tries to kill her own father."

Ruo Yin tried to break free from the Demon Lord, but the more she fought, the harder he pulled. General Zhang could not believe what he was hearing, Ruo Yin was the Demon Lord's daughter? Before he could say anything else, the Demon Lord killed General Zhang.

"No! General Zhang!" Ruo Yin shouted, "You monster!" Ruo Yin knew that she needed to continue maintaining the Demon Lord busy while Zhan Luo finishes casting the spell, "You will never win! Not in this lifetime, and neither the next one!" She provoked him.

You Xie then threw her to the ground and said, "You foolish little girl, it seems that your memories came back. If that is the case, then you are more foolish than your mother. You were to die five thousand years ago, and I gave you an opportunity to live. Yet, five thousand years later, you are here wishing for me to kill you again," He then gave Ruo Yin a creepy smile. He had totally lost it, "I will fulfill your death wish then!" He said as he summoned his sword to kill Ruo Yin. He did not want her as a spirit in the stone. He wanted her to disappear completely through the Immortal Realm. Just as Zhan Luo finish chanting the spell, You Xie fatally stabbed Ruo Yin.

"No!" Zhan Luo shouted as he went to fight the Demon Lord.

The spell did not go as they planned. Zhan Luo could only put the stone's power in hibernation. With the damage that the Demon Lord and his army had already done, if they did not kill the Demon Lord, the war would be lost.

The spell had taken a great toll on Zhan Luo, but he still summoned his sword and tried to fight the Demon Lord. After all, he was the War Deity. He would not go down without a fight.

"You... you remind me of that little bastard that took Fei Yan away from me!" You Xie shouted.

Ruo Yin laid on the ground. Her wound gushing out the blood at a quick rhythm. She started feeling her hands cold and her vision was starting to get blurry.

She tried to watch how Zhan Luo fought You Xie, but her eyelids were starting to feel heavy.

The battle was a quick one though. Without the stone, You Xie was nothing. Even with Zhan Luo's weak condition, he still managed to throw some hard blows to the Demon Lord.

"Come on, Zhan Luo, you can do it..." Ruo Yin whispered as she just let her wound slowly take her life away.

Zhan Luo then managed to stab through the Demon Lord's heart, but he sacrificed himself in the process letting the Demon Lord give him a fatal wound in the abdomen.

You Xie slumped lifeless to the ground with his eyes still open. Just as the Sky Emperor's troops arrived at the scene, Zhan Luo reached Ruo Yin.

"Xiao Yin, wake up... we won..." Zhan Luo murmured in Ruo Yin's ear as he hugged her. Both of them already succumbing to their wounds.

"High God Zhan Luo," one of the soldiers said.

"Take her to Lord Si Ming now!" Zhan Luo ordered.

"But, High God... your wounds..."

"Just do as I say!" Zhan Luo said. Ruo Yin was already unresponsive.

The soldier then carried Ruo Yin and teleported to where Si Ming was. Si Ming had been pacing nervously all this time. He knew from the color of the sky, which had turned back to normal, that they managed to stop the stone, but he did not know how his friends were.

"Please, let both of you be fine..." Si Ming prayed.

Just then, the soldier came with Ruo Yin, "Lord Si Ming, High God Zhan Luo ordered me to bring you his wife."

Before the soldier could finish speaking, Si Ming already picked up Ruo Yin and took her to his tent. He knew from Ruo Yin's pulse that she was already dying. She was unresponsive. He then started casting the spell and turned Ruo Yin's spirit into a magic pill. Now he only needed someone who was willing to take it so the Demon Princess could be reborn.

Just as Zhan Luo saw that Ruo Yin was already sent away, he succumbed to his wounds.

Lu Ren Wei had separated from the Demon Lord to attack the Sky Emperor. He successfully killed him but had to escape since most of his troops were killed. He then disguised himself as a Sky Clan soldier to be able to safely go back. To his demise, he arrived just as the Demon Lord was killed.

"Double Soul Spell..." Lu Ren Wei heard the whisper. He remembers he learned the spell by coincidence while he was in his search for the stone.

The Double Soul Spell was a simple one. He just needed to sacrifice a bit of his cultivation to fuse the two spirits of the immortals together. He then later needed to put the fused spirit inside a female immortal so she could give birth to the Demon Lord, and he will regain his memories slowly by consuming the War Deity's spirit.

Lu Ren Wei took advantage of the many soldiers roaming through the battlefield and just as the soldier went away with Ruo Yin, Lu Ren Wei got close to the War Deity and snatched his soul away. He later did the same thing with the Demon Lord.

"One day the Demon Clan is going to rise again..." Lu Ren Wei said in a low voice as he disappeared into the shadows.
