32 Chapter 31: I'm Taking Him to the Grave

The sky was turning redder and redder. The Demon Lord and Lu Ren Wei were obliterating everything that was in their path. The screams of the innocents living in the outskirts of the Sky Clan could be heard from the distance. The land was being destroyed at a fast pace. The Sky soldiers who were trying to defend were losing at a fast rate. They were at no par with the Demon Lord's army of savages.

Everyone from the outskirts was dead when the rest of the Sky Clan troop that was in the reunion hall earlier arrived close to the outskirts. There, they discussed their plan once more.

"We are going to separate into two groups. The first one is going to distract the Demon Lord's troop, while I take High God Zhan Luo to the Demon Lord," General Xia said.

General Xia had the best men of the Sky Clan with him, but there was something off with the confidence that he was exuding that made Ruo Yin doubt him.

"The Demon Lord is no fool, he will see by the size of the troop that some men were somewhere else. He will also see that something is off if he doesn't see Zhan Luo in the fight," Ruo Yin said trying to make General Xia leave more of his men with the Sky Emperor's group.

"So, what do you suggest, Demon Princess?" General Xia sneered. Ruo Yin knew that Xia Mei's father hated him. After all, the shamelessness of Xia Mei needed to come from somewhere, but putting the whole Sky Clan's troop in danger was just ludicrous.

"We should try to eliminate most of the Demon's Lord's troops first, once his defenses have been weakened, our opportunity to strike will be better. The Demon Lord is no patient man, he will give it his all with no calculation if he sees that he is losing," Ruo Yin said.

The soldiers started murmuring to themselves, Ruo Yin knew that if she did not win the troops' trust fast, they were going to lose the battle. The sky was turning redder with each passing second, and General Xia's biased opinion was not helping either.

"The Sky Clan has not fallen so low to depend on a small female immortal like you and nonetheless a member of the Demon Clan! We have defeated you once. We can do it again! We will proceed with my plan!" General Xia shouted and the troops cheered.

"For heaven's sake!" Ruo Yin rolled her eyes in unbelief. She wanted to just strangle this foolish mongrel, but she knew that it would not help the situation. Zhan Luo then interrupted General Xia's speech, "General Xia, I think you are forgetting your place. I am the War Deity, and what I decided is the ultimatum. We will weaken the Demon Clan's troops first and then attack the Demon Lord," Zhan Luo said. He later added, "Since I see that you are so enthusiast, I will entrust the Sky Emperor and the Crown Prince in your care."

General Xia wanted to interrupt, but the Demon Lord's troops had already seen them. The Demon's Clan's troops were double the size of the Sky Clan's.

"Everyone, attack!" Zhan Luo shouted.

"Those who are healers, start casting your spells. The others, start creating a barrier!" The Sky Emperor shouted to the soldiers that were with him. The Sky Emperor had battle experience in comparison with Prince Quan Liang, but it was still a lot less than Zhan Luo's. They had decided that it was better for him to remain in the defense.

Ruo Yin was beside Zhan Luo trying to make their way through the troops. The Demon Lord's troops were borderline savages. Even if someone cut one of their limbs, they still tried to fight like rabid animals.

In the middle of the battle, Ruo Yin was separated from Zhan Luo. To not waste time, she went slicing the soldiers' heads off. "You are going to pay for your crimes!" Ruo Yin thought as she tried to make her way through the soldiers. It seemed as if they were especially her preventing her to find Zhan Luo. Just as she was finished fighting some of the archers, she turned around and was almost hit by one of the soldiers if it weren't from an arrow that killed him instantly.

"Princess! Are you alright?" General Zhang, his parents' friend, shouted as he went closer.

"Thank you..."

"Princess, please hide, the Demon Lord has called upon all the troops of the Demon Clan, old and new, he is planning on ruling the whole Immortal Realm. We, the retired generals, tried to stop the Demon Lord's troops, but we are weak compared to them. Everyone is already dead," General Zhang said.

"Do you know where he is, Uncle Zhang?" Ruo Yin asked him as both of them continued fighting the soldiers from the Demon Clan.

"I know, but it will be impossible to win. Before the battle, he said that he had spies inside the Sky Clan. This is not a war that you can win."

"Try me. Take me to him! He owes me his life!" Ruo Yin said.

General Zhang was already old. He took care of Ruo Yin for all these years after her parents passed away, so he knew that once the girl had put in her mind a goal, she could burn the whole world to reach it. So, he conceded and started guiding her toward the Demon Lord.

Meanwhile, on Zhan Luo's side, he was with General Xia fighting. They had seen the Demon Lord in the distance and were trying to get to him. Ruo Yin was not in sight, but Zhan Luo knew that she could defend herself or at least hope so.

"High God Zhan Luo, I will distract the soldiers, go to stop the Demon Lord from using the stone any longer!" General Xia shouted.

Zhan Luo nodded and easily killed the soldiers that were in front of him, no matter how savages they were, they were nothing compared to the War Deity. Soon he reached the Demon Lord to a close range and shouted, "You Xie, this is over! Hand over the stone and the Sky Emperor may forgive your transgression!"

You Xie then laughed. The Demon Lord then said, "So many years of training and you are still a fool! The one who should be begging for his life is you!"

He then shouted and that is when Zhan Luo noticed that he was surrounded by the Demon Clan's soldiers and General Xia's.

"General Xia! You are betraying the Sky Clan?" Zhan Luo asked calmly.

"You guys were the ones who betrayed me first, I gave you my loyalty and you guys pay me by giving such a huge sentence to my daughter," General Xia said scoffing. He was totally out of his mind.

You Xie then came down from his horse and closed his distance from the War Deity. "Now, War Deity, are you still powerful knowing that you are surrounded?" He mocked.

Suddenly, the soldiers all fell to the floor. The only ones left standing were the Demon Lord and the War Deity.

"What happened? Who casted such a powerful spell?" You Xie shouted.

"Never thought I will attack you, uh? You Xie, don't you dare to continue your massacre!" Ruo Yin shouted as she came to view with General Zhang and what remained of his small troop. For her luck, Zhan Luo had taught her a spell that could augment her attacks.

"Huh? So even Xiao Yin is here? Such a foolish one just like your mother," You Xie said coldly. At that moment, Ruo Yin remembered vividly the scene as You Xie murdered her parents. She was filled with hatred all once again.

General Xia, barely alive crawled to the Demon Lord's side and tried to grab one of his legs, "Please, save me..." He said weakly. You Xie hating weakling like him, used his powers and sucked his spirit out and put it inside the stone making it more powerful.

Zhan Luo then tried attacking the Demon Lord, but the Demon Lord was faster and cast a barrier spell while putting enough distance between them again.

Ruo Yin then went beside Zhan Luo and said, "I think that stone is possessing him! He is crazier than normal! We need to separate him from the stone!"

Zhan Luo nodded,

General Zhang and his soldiers were busy attacking the soldiers that tried to come to defend You Xie. The Sky Clan was somehow winning, there were fewer and fewer soldiers from the Demon Clan on sight.

"Ruo Yin, remember that your safety comes first!" Zhan Luo said to her as the both of them went charging toward the Demon Lord.

"No promise. Even if I die, I'm taking that bastard with me!" Ruo Yin shouted back. Her sight was fully on You Xie that was in front of her smiling unhinged casting the stone power to destroy the Sky Clan.
