27 Chapter 26: Undoing and Ominous Feeling

Ruo Yin had fallen asleep on their way back. Zhan Luo laid her carefully in her bed so he did not wake her up. He felt guilty for letting Ruo Yin fight Xia Mei when the both of them knew that Xia Mei had come to Kunlun Mountain with ulterior motives.

"Hm?" Ruo Yin made a sound as she rubbed her eyes. "Is this my room?" she asked still disoriented from her sleep.

Zhan Luo then helped her to sit back gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"How are you feeling?"

"If I were to tell you that I'm fine would you believe it?" She asked. Her face and lips were all pale because of the injuries.

Zhan Luo's face turned serious, even deadly. Ruo Yin had never seen the War Deity so angry.

"This is not the time for jokes. You have most of your powers sealed! You are just a bit better than a mortal!" Zhan Luo shouted.

"Aren't I still here kicking and alive?" Ruo Yin said matching the same serious tone and face as Zhan Luo. She then soften her expression, "Don't worry, I just need a bit of rest and I will be fine."

Zhan Luo still looked worried, so Ruo Yin got closer to him and said, "If you want, you may stay here for the night, so you can check that I'm not lying."

This made the War Deity blush a bit. It was not the first time that the two of them stayed in a room together, but all those times, it was not planned. This was the first time one of them proposed it. He then saw that Ruo Yin was also embarrassed from proposing it.

The War Deity really wanted to stay, but he mustered all his strength and said, "I don't think it's appropriate."

"Why? Aren't we married? What's so inappropriate for a husband to stay in his wife's room? To begin with, we shouldn't even be in separate rooms," Ruo Yin pouted. She wanted to distract Zhan Luo from thinking about all this "we will end up killing each other" thing.

The War Deity then turned to his back and said, "You are hurt."

Ruo Yin then rolled her eyes and said, "I was not suggesting us doing anything else than sleeping..."

The War Deity then stood up and was heading out of the room when Ruo Yin suddenly said, "Hey! Please wait! It was a joke, there's no need for you to go running!"

Zhan Luo then turned around and said, "I was just going back to my room to grab my things so I could sleep here tonight, or were you meaning that the joke was when you said that we were only going to sleep?" he raised an eyebrow.

Ruo Yin then blushed, knowing that he was planning on sleeping on the floor. As she was way too embarrassed and her injuries were starting to hurt to continue fake arguing with the War Deity, she grabbed her comforter and cover herself.

When the War Deity returned, Ruo Yin had already fallen back to sleep. She was all curled up and her brows furrowed from the pain. Zhan Luo knew that if he undid the binding spell there were going to be repercussions, apart from that to undo such a big spell was going to require a great part of his cultivation. Yet, even if he tried to heal Ruo Yin's wounds, it did not guarantee that there were no going to be the next time. He wanted his wife to have the best shot in defending herself, so as she laid in her bed asleep, Zhan Luo secretly undid the binding spell and healed her.

Undoing the spell and healing her, took a great toll on Zhan Luo's cultivation, but seeing his wife all healed up and sleeping so soundly made him feel it was worth it.

He then tried to move out of Ruo Yin's bed, but she turned around and grabbed Zhan Luo's hand and hugged it.

"Don't go..." she murmured in her sleep.

Zhan Luo tried to get his hand free, but Ruo Yin instead of letting it go went and hugged his arm. Zhan Luo then gave up on trying to get free and tried to get himself comfortable to sleep in Ruo Yin's bed.

The next day, Ruo Yin was the first to wake up, and the first thing she saw was the perfect face of the War Deity still asleep.

"What the heck happened last night?" Ruo Yin asked herself.

She could not help herself and with her hand, she traced the War Deity's sleeping face. Suddenly Zhan Luo's eyes opened and her hand froze in his face.

"Well, morning to you too, my dear wife," he said smirking as he grabbed Ruo Yin's hand that was still in his face.

"Morning..." Ruo Yin said blushing red as a tomato.

"How are you feeling?"

That is when Ruo Yin noticed that nothing hurt anymore. It was impossible, Xia Mei had hurt her pretty bad. Those injuries could not have healed themselves completely overnight. Did Zhan Luo have anything to do with this?

"As new!" she replied.

The War Deity then gave her a small smile. It made Ruo Yin's heart beat faster. She then noticed that she was also feeling somewhat different as if power was running through her veins.

Zhan Luo then stood up and prepared a basin so they could wash their face. When he started helping Ruo Yin do her hair, that is when she saw in the mirror that the red tattoo marking the binding spell had disappeared.

"What happened with this?" She asked as she pointed her neck where the mark should be.

Zhan Luo then replied, "I removed it..."

"What? Why? Isn't it prohibited?" Ruo Yin panicked.

"Shh... Don't worry about it. I will solve all these if someone dares to ask questions. I just want you to have your best shot at defending yourself."

Ruo Yin's chest felt warm. The War Deity had broken the rules just so she could defend herself, but she also knew that if anyone from the Demon Clan knew, then she would be in grave danger.

"Thanks!" she said as she hugged Zhan Luo, "But, we can't let the others know, especially You Xie, so it's better if we draw the red mark on my neck when we are in public."

The War Deity nodded. As they finished dressing up, a storm came.

"It's raining!" Ruo Yin said surprised since the Immortal Realm rarely had any storms, "Let's go see the storm, Zhan Luo! I have never seen such a big storm!" She said excitedly.

The War Deity was not so happy, he remembers that the only times that it rained so hard it was days before something big was going to happen, and as he saw his wife all excitedly watching the phenomenon he could not help, but have an ominous feeling of what the both of them were going to expect in the future.
