19 Chapter 18: Truths Revealed, Feelings Found (3)

"Are you sure you want to know the truth?" Zhan Luo asked one more time.

"Yes. I don't longer want to be a puppet for anyone. Everyone has their own version of their story. I want my version," Ruo Yin said determinedly.

"Fine then, I can cast upon you a memory reverse spell, but I should warn you. First, you are going to reenact everything inside your memory. If you see something that you want to change you won't be able to do it. Your body will be only a projection for you to be able to remember the past."

Zhan Luo stopped for a bit to see if Ruo Yin understood.

Ruo Yin nodded.

"Second, there is no pause or stopping the spell, you are going to need to relive it all if you want to wake up. And third..." Zhan Luo said as he kissed Ruo Yin on the forehead, "I am not going to be able to be with you on the dream. You are going to be on your own."

"Are you going to be beside me at least while I'm inside the spell?" Ruo Yin asked a bit scared for she did not know what she was expected to relive.

"If that's what you want, my dear wife," Zhan Luo said to her.

"Am I going to hate you after remembering the past?" Ruo Yin asked him.

"..." Zhan Luo did not answer.

This only left Ruo Yin with more fear.

They were in Ruo Yin's bedroom since they did not know how long it was going to take for Ruo Yin to remember it all.

"Are you ready? I'm going to put you under the spell now," Zhan Luo asked his wife who was lying in her bed.

Ruo Yin nodded. Both of her hands grabbed the comforter till it covered her in the mouth.

Zhan Luo then started the memory reversal spell. He was as nervous as Ruo Yin because he also did not know what has his wife seen before he erased her memories.

As Zhan Luo cast the spell on her, Ruo Yin's eyes felt heavy and she dreamed.

"There has been an attack on the Outer Section. Honey, I need to go."

As Ruo Yin opened her eyes again, she saw that the man talking was her father. She knew she was reliving the incident. She knew they were going to die again. At least from her perspective.

She wanted to stop her father from going, but as Zhan Luo had said, she did not have control inside her memories. She was just a viewer.

"My husband, please take care," Ruo Yin's mother said as her father laid a kiss on her mother's forehead.

"I have already asked the Demon Lord to send you both to a safe camp," Her father said.

"Father, please let me go. I can also fight by your side," Ruo Yin spoke.

"My daughter, you are so young and brave. Please protect your mother," Her father then kissed her on the forehead as well.

"Yes, Father."

Ruo Yin's father quickly departed to the Outer Section. Ruo Yin and her mother then packed a few clothes. Ruo Yin grabbed her sword, and they both waited for the Demon Lord's soldiers to take them to the safe camp.

Soon, a group of soldiers came with a carriage. They presented themselves and Ruo Yin and her mother were soon on the way to the safe camp.

Ruo Yin peeked a little on the window. She realized they were heading to the Outer Section as well. She then got closer to her mother and whispered to her,

"Mother, I think we are going to the Outer Section of the clan. We are not heading to any safe camp."

Ruo Yin felt her mother hand's tense. Did she know something and was hiding it?

"Don't worry my child, everything will be okay," Ruo Yin's mother forced a smile.

Ruo Yin could not help but feel uneasy.

When the carriage finally stops, the soldiers quickly ushered Ruo Yin and her mother to go out of the carriage and take both of her to a tent.

When they entered, Ruo Yin never thought that she was going to see the Demon Lord, You Xie, sitting there. He had a smile plastered on his face as if he had planned all this.

"You Xie, was is the meaning of this," Ruo Yin's mother asked defiantly the Demon Lord.

"My dear Xiao Yan... don't get so defensive. I promised your husband I was going to take both of you to a safe camp. I have fulfilled my deed. What place will be safer than close to me," The Demon Lord still had that eerie smile plastered on his face.

This conversation made each passing moment more uncomfortable for Ruo Yin.

"You Xie, you, bastard! You already blackmailed my husband, so he works on your side. He is already fulfilling his part of his promise, yet you still dare to lie to him like this? Please, just leave us alone! Wasn't it enough what you did to me years ago?"

Ruo Yin had never seen her mother so upset.

The Demon Lord then hit the sit's armrest. "Xiao Yan, you were supposed to be mine. Your daughter should have been ours! I'm just taking back what is mine," You Xie said as he got closer to Ruo Yin's mother.

Fei Yan, Ruo Yin's mother, quickly pushed her daughter to stand behind her.

You Xie then grabbed Fei Yan by her cheeks and said, "That bastard is finally going to die today, and when I become the Lord of not only the Demon Clan but the whole clans in the Immortal Realm, you, my Xiao Yan shall become my queen. As it should have been."

"Ruo Yin has only one father, and he isn't you! I prefer to die than to be wedded to a monster like you!" Fei Yan spitted on You Xie's face.

"Protect your mother." Her father's words resonated in her mind, but Ruo Yin was scared, she had her sword, but her mind went blank. The Demon Lord has planned all this. Not only did he want to cause a rebellion toward the other clans in the Immortal Realm. He also wants to kill her father, who apparently is not her biological father?

"Then, let me fulfill your death wish. By the way, don't worry about your daughter, I will not kill her. After all, she is also my daughter." The Demon Lord had full hatred in his eyes.

"Well, here goes the confirmation for my suspicions," Ruo Yin thought.

Just when Ruo Yin was about to act brash and try to separate the Demon Lord from her mother, Ruo Yin's father entered the tent.

"Stop it You Xie, leave Fei Yan out of this. She has never been in love with you. I'm going to help you in your rebellion, but leave my wife and daughter out of this!"

You Xie looked deranged. He then pushed Ruo Yin's mother aside and took out his sword and pointed it directly into Ruo Yin's father's chest.

"Run!" Those were Ruo Yin's father's last words.

Fei Yan tried to grab Ruo Yin and run, but You Xie had ordered his new guards to grab the both of them.

"My dear Xiao Yan, didn't I tell you. You won't be able to run away from me," You Xie smiled.

And with the same sword, he pierced it through Fei Yan's chest.

"No!" Ruo Yin screamed as her sword fell to the floor as two guards tried to restrain her.

Ruo Yin tried to free herself from the guards. She tried to rescue her parents who were gasping to breathe. There was so much blood, that Ruo Yin's vision turned red.

As he was about to also kill Ruo Yin, a guard entered and told the Demon Lord that the War Deity had arrived.

You Xie then ordered the guards to monitor Ruo Yin and went outside to fight the War Deity.

After a moment, Ruo Yin finally freed herself. She quickly grabbed the soldier's sword and slashed it through his neck, while with the other one she used her powers, and with her bare hand, she took out his heart and squeezed it.

She was not thinking, she just wanted to destroy, to kill, to avenge.

"Don't worry, Father, Mother, Ruo Yin is going to avenge you," Ruo Yin said, with the same hatred as You Xie had a few moments ago.

"Xiao Yin, daughter..." Their parents begged, gasping between each breath.

Just as Ruo Yin was about to grab back her sword the War Deity entered the tent.

He saw the massacre that was left.

Blood everywhere, two soldiers dead by Ruo Yin's hand, while her parents lay there hemorrhaging.

"Please, High God Zhan Luo..." begged Fei Yan. "Please, erase Ruo Yin's memory. Don't let her go to the same road as the Demon Lord."

"Please..." Ruo Yin's father also begged, "Even if I'm not his real father, for me, she is still my daughter. Please spare her from this misery, War Deity."

Zhan Luo then looks at the girl who he supposed was Ruo Yin. She looked tiny and fragile. Yet, he saw it in her eyes. Pure hatred. Someone who was broken. He saw her determination, her sadness, her grief.

He decided to fulfill this girl's parents' wish. He was going to erase her memories.

Ruo Yin had totally lost her mind. She was not thinking straight anymore. If she needed to fight this War Deity, she was going to do it, but no one was going to stop her from killing You Xie.

"Don't come closer..." Ruo Yin said.

Zhan Luo still did not care and walked closer and closer to Ruo Yin.

Ruo Yin then stabbed him, but somewhere that was not even lethal. This surprised Ruo Yin, she did not really want to hurt the War Deity, she just wanted to hurt the Demon Lord.

Zhan Luo did not even flinch. He just stood there and taking advantage that Ruo Yin was startled, began casting the memory-erasing spell.

Quickly, Ruo Yin fainted, and Zhan Luo held her in his arms.

Just then, both of Ruo Yin's parents thanked him, and they both gave their last breath.

Then, the memory ended.

Ruo Yin woke up crying. She felt as if she lost her parents all over again, and not only that. She has killed people, and she hurt Zhan Luo.

And, she was the Demon Lord's daughter...

"My dear wife, does it hurt somewhere?" Zhan Luo asked her as he hugged her.

Ruo Yin could not help it and continued crying. She cried for all those five thousand years she forgot.

"It's alright now, shhh..." Zhan Luo tried to comfort her.

"I... I hurt you. I'm so sorry!" Ruo Yin managed to say between sobs.

"It's alright..." Zhan Luo continued repeating.

"I'm so sorry!" Ruo Yin continued crying.

"Shhh... My dear wife, everything is okay now. Please rest. You must be tired from remembering everything," Zhan Luo said as he continued patting Ruo Yin's head.

"I'm scared..." Ruo Yin said.

Zhan Luo then said, "Didn't I promise to stay beside you? Now sleep."

Ruo Yin then nodded, as she let her eyes slowly close. Both of them, embracing each other.
