17 Chapter 16: Truths Revealed, Feelings Found (1)

After Xia Mei's little stunt, neither Si Ming nor Zhan Luo saw her again.

Si Ming helped Ruo Yin as promised and only told Zhan Luo that she went back to the Demon Clan and that she would be back soon. Zhan Luo looked a bit angry but did not push Si Ming to say anything else and went back to Kunlun Mountain.

"Seriously these two...when are they going to realize that they have both fallen in love with each other?" Si Ming said to himself.

A few days passed, and Ruo Yin had still not come back. Instead, Si Ming was the one who arrived one day.

Zhan Luo was in his study trying to read a bit when he sensed the arrival of an immortal. Since the only two deities who could enter Kunlun Mountain uninvited were Si Ming and Ruo Yin, he just assumed that it was the latter. He quickly rose from his seat and opened his door, and shouted, "Ruo Yin! Why did you left in such a hurry?" Zhan Luo opened his mouth thinking that the immortal that arrived was his wife.`

"Um...sorry my friend. Wrong deity," Si Ming said with both hands in front of him to prevent Zhan Luo from hugging him.

"Si Ming? What are you doing here? What have you said to Ruo Yin? Do you know the real reason of why Ruo Yin went back to the Demon Clan? She has nothing to do there!" Zhan Luo did not even took a breath between sentences.

Si Ming saw that his friend looked tired as if he had not slept in the last few days. He wanted to give a little push so Zhan Luo could realize his feelings for Ruo Yin.

"First of all, this is not the way to greet your only friend," Si Ming said towards the War Deity.

"Second, I didn't say anything to your wife. She just saw how things were with her own eyes and came to her conclusions. Maybe you should be asking yourself, what you didn't say towards her," Si Ming said.

"What? You are not making any sense Si Ming," Zhan Luo told him.

"I am making sense, it's just that both of you are just so dense!" Si Ming shouted.

"Dense? On what?" Zhan Luo asked.

"Could you at least invite me to sit before we start this conversation, it's going to be a long one," Si Ming asked.

"Fine. Come, I will prepare some tea, and Ruo Yin still had some pastries left," Zhan Luo said.

"If you want my help on how you can get your wife back, you better don't give me those poisonous pastries," Si Ming said.

Zhan Luo then asked him, "Weren't you the one who said that they were tasty?"

"Please, I don't need to be a genius to guess that you also told her the same. Or at least, you didn't tell her that those pastries could be used as a weapon," Si Ming told his friend.

"Fine. Then it will be only tea."

After Zhan Luo and Si Ming were already accommodated on Zhan Luo's study, and the tea was served, Zhan Luo said, "So? What did Ruo Yin saw when we were at the Sky Clan?"

"First of all, have you slept after Ruo Yin went back to the Demon Clan?" Si Ming asked trying to be subtle.

"No," Zhan Luo said.

Si Ming knowing his friend knew he was already being defensive.

"Why?" Si Ming asked him back

"Not of your business," Zhan Luo replied to him a bit more annoyed this time.

"Is it Ruo Yin's business then?" Si Ming was trying very hard not to hit his friend and tell him how dense he could be.

"NOT your business or anyone's business! If you are not going to help then please leave," Zhan Luo was definitely angry this time.

"Fine. I'm leaving just as Ruo Yin did," Si Ming said with a smirk.

That was the last drop of patience Zhan Luo had. He quickly grabbed Si Ming by his clothes and told him, "You know what happened to my wife, so you better speak now or I will make sure to comment to the Sky Emperor that maybe you should experiment a lifetime of calamities in the Mortal Realm."

Si Ming knew that his plan was not working at all. Zhan Luo was not even thinking straight anymore. So to save his little immortal life from experimenting a lifetime in the Mortal Realm he decided to tell the truth.

"Fine! I surrender," Si Ming said with both hands raised.

"The truth is that Ruo Yin saw you all mushy with Xia Mei or let's rephrase it. Xia Mei was all mushy with you. So she started having her doubts. She did ask me who Xia Mei was, so I told her Xia Mei's background."

"So, it was your fault that Ruo Yin left," Zhan Luo said. Almost ready to doom his friend.

"No! For Heaven's sake! You are really dumb!" Si Ming said, "to begin with, Ruo Yin wasn't feeling unwell that day. I just invented that excuse so you won't notice that she was about to cry. Do you really think Xia Mei had good intentions when she offered to help Ruo Yin?"

"..." Zhan Luo didn't answer.

"Ruo Yin should be here to watch just how blind you are. Correction, Both of you are! Xia Mei "helped" Ruo Yin because she wanted to take her somewhere private," Si Ming said.

"And?" Zhan Luo asked.

"As you know, I left you alone at the plaza. She even said to Ruo Yin that you both may be married, but the woman you couldn't forget was her," Si Ming said hoping his friend would finally understand.

"So, Ruo Yin ran back to the Demon Clan because she thought she was interfering with my non-existent relationship with Xia Mei?" Zhan Luo asked confused.

"No! She ran back because she felt that you, were using her as a replacement for Xia Mei! She ran back because she is in love with you. And you haven't slept in all these days because you are in love with her!" Si Ming finally said.

"I'm not in love with Ruo Yin," Zhan Luo said.

"Zhan Luo..." Si Ming said seriously to his friend, "in all these years, many goddesses have tried to approach you, yet you have never paid attention to them. You have always acted distantly. Yet, with Ruo Yin, you act differently. You don't put up your barriers with her. I don't know why you decided to marry her. But please realize it, it may have been fake at the start, but right now you have fallen for her!" Si Ming tried to make his friend realize.

Zhan Luo did not speak for a few minutes. He was trying to process his feelings. He did act differently with Ruo Yin. At first, it was because she did not want his attention like the other goddesses, so he felt that she was interesting.

But now that Si Ming said it, Zhan Luo realized that he cared for Ruo Yin. He even misses her bad cooking and sarcastic remarks.

Si Ming waited patiently for his friend to process it all.

"I think you are right, Si Ming. But what if I told you that I owe that girl a debt. Almost as heavy as a life debt," Zhan Luo asked his friend.

"What have you done?" Si Ming asked.

Zhan Luo then explained to him what happened five thousand years ago, and how he erased Ruo Yin's memories of the incident.

"See, I knew you two were fated to be together. And I didn't even need to consult it with the Immortals Fate Book," Si Ming said proudly.

"This is not the time for jokes. Ruo Yin already doubts me because of what Xia Mei told her, and if she knew the truth about the incident and what I did, then she will truly hate me," Zhan Luo said. "What am I going to do to get back my wife?"

Si Ming had never seen his friend so desperate. As the War Deity, he always had a backup plan, but this time it looked that he did not have any.

Si Ming then patted Zhan Luo's back as he stood up.

"My friend, the truth is always the best option. You just did what her parents considered the best thing for her. She will understand. Now, go to the Demon Clan and bring back your wife who is also my friend back!" Si Ming commanded him as he left.
