Introduction to the characters

Jim Hawkins:The first person point of view, of almost the entire novel . Jim is the son of an innkeeper near Bristol, England.,and is probably in his mid teens . He is eager and enthusiastic to go to sea and hunt for treasure. He is a modest narrator, never boasting for the remarkable courage and heroism he consistently displays.  Jim is often impulsive and impetuous ,but he exhibits increasing sensitivity and wisdom.

Long John Silver:the cook on the voyage to treasure island.  Silver is the secret ringleader of the pirate band. His physical and and emotional strength are impressive.

Dr. David Livesey: The local doctor in treasure island. Dr.Livesey is wise and practical, and jim respects Dr.Livesey but is not inspired by him . Livesey narrates a few chapters of the novel. And Dr.Livesey is fairminded.

Captain Alexander Smollett:The captain of the voyage to treasure island. Captain Alexander smollett was impressive and inspirational for Jim's teenage mind.

Billy Bones :the old seaman who resides at Jim's parents. He dies of a stroke as a result of drinking too much of rum . Billy was the first mate of Flint.

Black dog: formerly a member of flints pirate crew . The joke is that in his left hand he is missing two fingers.
