The Truth Begins to Unfold

"Don't be so startled, now. I have no intention to hurt you."

Said the Large figure that stood in front of me. He talked in a soft tone, but just a second ago, he mercilessly crushed three of his own kind in front of me.

"What...are you?"

- "I have already introduced myself. I am Alucard Yonas, the king of the Vampires. I am the one who oversees the 'Trial of Sins'.'"

" 'The trial of sins', huh...What the hell is that?!", Ragnar asked the question that both of us wanted to know.

"Well, I shall tell you when it is needed, but for the time being, You have to accompany me. And I am sure you need some medical attention."

"...Alright." I spoke after thinking for a brief moment.

His plan of not harming us gave me bad vibes. But even so, He was the one that protected us from other vampires.

And I am sure he's powerful enough to kill all three of us with no problem. But I don't think he has any intentions of doing so. It gives me the idea that we are of great importance to his cause.

"And which shall you be?", he asked, turning his face towards me.

"Huh?"

"Well, I asked about your sin, Which one are you gifted?"

"What do you mean? You know about this power.. Is it called 'Sin'?"

"Oh! So this generation doesn't know yet, And here they are already." he said to his soldiers.

"Tell me, About this power. What is it?" I asked firmly.

"Please pick up the luggage you need, and follow me. I will give you the bare minimum as we walk."

Saying this, He turned his back on us and waited for us to get ready to go with him. His carefreeness shows that he was not planning anything. But we'll have to be ready if he tries anything.

I turned to Ragnar, he had already dispelled his weapon and got on his feet, taking deep breaths. He must be extremely tired from the whole skirmish. He Carried me through the entire battle. All so, while keeping Levi safe. I was highly indebted to him.

"Oi Ragnar, Can you walk on your own?"

"I.. can, But it'll be a little hard."

"Well, you gotta push through the pain, You have to. I have to carry Levi too. I can't manage to carry two people at the same time.

"No! You can't carry her, Give me an energy stone. I shall heal up and carry her." he said authoritatively.

"Listen up big guy, I know you saved us but we don't have many of them, so stop asking for them, would ya?"

"Come on, I need only one."

"No."

Watching us argue, Alucard presented his own opinion,

"I suggest you let him carry her, We can't give you more of these this year."

"More of these? You mean the power stones?"

"My bad, I am just complicated things for you. I will explain everything to you during our walk."

Ragnar agreed and looked at me. He was feeling intimidated and gave up on carrying Levi and the stone.

I picked up the fainted Levi on his shoulders, and we started moving through the forest,

'In Broad Daylight!'

We walked on a clear path surrounded by thick trees on each side. Alucard led our group. And Ragnar thought it was about time to ask questions.

"Say...Do you burn in sunlight?"

"Ahh, we don't. It's just a Glorified myth among your people."

And just like that, we lost the greatest known weapon against the vampires that we knew.

"So where do you live? Are there more of you?"

"These questions will answer themselves in a few minutes.", said Alucard.

Ragnar had asked two questions and both of them didn't concern about our existence here in any way. So, I Bugged in and started asking the REAL questions.

"So, What is a 'sin' anyway? Is it some sort of a curse that triggers this Trial."

"You could say that. Once every generation, 7 humans are granted the power of one of the Seven Deadly Sins and are sent to this island for a 'Trial', which we vampires oversee."

"So you're saying we are cursed and are being forced to come here for a Trail we cannot escape."

"Yes."

"Haha...Got it..." I said, laughing nervously.

Alucard went silent and turned his head towards me, "Though, Killing yourself can make you escape every problem in life. Including this one.", he said looking at me menacingly.

Everybody went silent.

"Come on, It was just a Joke.", he said smilingly. But none of us were in the mood to laugh. I have to say, that 'Joke' just made me more uncomfortable than it should've.

In between my thoughts, I realised the sudden change in environment.

The sky was now turning purple. And the forest around us got less and less dense, The trees now seemed to be white and dry with no leaves. It all felt like a nightmare.

"Oh, It seems we have arrived."

"What in the world...."

In front of us was a dark sky and fog.

Just fog surrounding the whole area like a barrier. It covered the entire area and nothing was visible. except a few Black pillars....on top of the fog?

"The city of Maya welcomes you again. May the Devil and the Gods be amused by our actions."
