The Tower Chronicles

Our MC is a transmigrator, just after transmigration he is sacrificed to a tower that has sealed Goddes Tani, to exit the tower they need to reach the highest 100th floor, and to do that they need to face a god. God is an existence very far from mortals, will they be locked inside the tower or will they be able to kill a god, whose presence alone turns people mad with one look? As the saying goes- Don't look into god's eye, if you don't want your consciousness to be lost in oblivion. ************************************************************ I Post one chapter every Monday so stay tuned.

Chapter 23 Camera#1

3rd, Shravana, 1965

It's now working hours at Alchemy Association.

Ortson and his co-worker are working at their own desk.

After working for one month, calculating daily has become a habitual work for him. Working here daily improves his attainment in Vedic mathematics.

As usual, Ortson was resting his hands after a full day of using a pen.

Oswal came in front of his desk and gives him an envelope.

"Mr. Ortson, this is your salary of the month, and sorry for it being 3 days late."

Ortson gratefully takes the envelope and open it to see its content, inside the envelope there were ten notes of 500₸ which is a total of 5000₸.

"Thank you for the help Mr. Oswal, what happened our salary total three days late."

Ortson is accustomed to online transactions, he used to receive his salary on time on Earth. But here not receiving his salary on time made him nervous.

"Nothing happened your salary appeared on the 1st day of the month, it's just our manager Lumine forgot about them. I need to go and give others their salary too."

"It's good that nothing happened."

Oswal leaves to give the team members their salaries one by one.

Ortson hears John and Daisy complaining.

"Our salary is three days late Oswal and it's not the first time it has happened. It's all Lumine's fault"

"Lumine must have been in a tryst with women, that he forgot to give us salary."

These types of comments start ringing the bell in Ortson's mind.

'Is this a fantasy version of the black company? If it is, I need to resign quickly and start working as an explorer.'

Ortson stands up from his desk.

"Mr. Oswal I am taking a break, my work for the day is done."

Oswal just nod his head from his desk and went on with his work.

Ortson is standing in front of a room, which has a label Lab-V on it.

Inside the building of the Alchemy Association, there are many such labs but alchemists mainly prefer to use personal labs for their experiments.

Then there are normal labs which are used to store materials or they are used by a low-level alchemist to mass produce potions and magic tools.

And Lab-V is one of those laboratories where materials are stored.

The lab has everything needed for normal operations.

There are many apparatus and magic circles on the countertop at the center of the lab.

And surprisingly the lab was stocked with everything he needed to make a working camera.

Ortson found transparent film and light-sensitive chemicals. There he found many unused wooden containers which he can repurpose to make the body for the camera.

There are many empty glass potion bottles that he can melt using lab apparatus to make a lens for the camera.

And the last component needed is a light source and an energy source.

Ortson found gallium, arsenic, phosphor, and lithium which can be used to make LEDs and rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries.

Ortson takes out his notebook from his breast pocket and jotted down the plan needed to make the camera.

Ortson put down his notebook aside and started his work.

He cuts down long strips of transparent film for the camera film.

The next step is to create a gelatin emulsion containing microscopically small light-sensitive silver halide crystals, which will be coated on one side of the transparent film strip to create the main component of the camera the photographic film.

To create the emulsion Ortson needs silver, nitric acid, and gelatin.

After finishing the second step, the next step is to create the body for the camera which will hold the all components in place.

Ortson uses a scale and pencil to mark down the area needed to cut on the surface of boxes.

Ortson cuts down the materials with a formulated spell of Laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) in one go.

A laser is created when electrons in the atoms in optical materials like glass, crystal, or gas absorb the energy from an electrical current or light.

Ortson recreated Laser with his knowledge, but using a laser on a wooden surface will leave burn marks that's why he needed to do it in one go, so as not to burn it more than necessary.

The third step is to make a LED for the light source or the flash for the camera.

Ortson uses the apparatus to make the LED chip, the electronic component that emits light when an electric current pass through it.

To create the LED chip, the semiconductor material is grown in a high-pressure, high-temperature chamber, where gallium, arsenic, and phosphor are purified and liquified into a concentric solution of gallium arsenide (GaAs) and gallium phosphide (GaP).

Then with the help of optical equipment Ortson arranges all the components, which are the cathode with a reflective cavity, anode, anode wire, and the LED chip, and covers them with an epoxy lens.

Unlike bulbs LED does not need to be filled with gas to function, it is totally an electronic apparatus.

'Recreating the LED was the hardest part, but this is still bigger than the LEDs on earth.'
