Chapter 39: Because she's NOT a lesbian

Autumn flipped through the pages of Steve’s manuscript. She’d photocopied it so she could edit it while he wrote without him knowing what she was doing.

The first thirty pages were terrible. But it didn’t matter. They were just the introduction. They were just the parts that Steve wrote to get his head into the game, to understand what his world was all about. He wasn’t intending to keep any of it anyway. He just wrote it to understand what his story was, where it was really set, what was really at stake.

After that, things started to improve. What was most amazing was that in just three weeks of working, he’d already produced almost a hundred pages. Nothing could stop him. And even though not many of the pages were good, even though some of them contained only one sentence that was worth keeping, it was still a lot of work. It was still incredible how much he’d done.
