Chapter 14: Shower Scene

Autumn stepped out of the shower and scrubbed her skin, rubbing the water off it, standing and looking at herself naked. Every once in a while, it’s important to do that. That’s what she always thought. But it had been a long time since she’d actually done it.

It isn’t easy to look at yourself naked. You have to see all the flaws, all the little things that only you would notice. But that was the point. Find the flaws. See the flaws in yourself to better understand the flaws in your characters.

She looked at her tattoos. Her first one, the dinky little heart in the space between her breasts, looked almost comical. It was just an attempt, and a naïve one, to put something lasting on her body. It was more an experiment than anything else. And Jeremy had thought it was sexy. At the time, not much had mattered more.
