CHAPTER 35: Old monsters
Early next morning, de residence was in uproar as the guard announced the arrival of the ancestors of different clans.
This old monsters rarely appeared even in important occasion and surprisingly today they all gathered in de clan's residence.
Ancestor de also came out to greet them.
"father, why are those ancestors here?" Patriarch de asked his father in doubt while they were waiting in the koi pond pavilion.
His father likes this place so much so this is where he usually received his old friends.
"I have no idea either. I was in a seclusion, why are you asking me?" he smacked patriarch de's head. No wonder patriarch de has this habit of smacking little fatty's head too.
"tell me quickly what happened while I'm in seclusion?" he muttered in contemplation as he fiddled with his white beard.
"Nothing much, though I invited a little lady as our honorable guest for saving little han'er. As for the city lords side there's no movement as far as we know. So that can't be it either" patriarch de said perplexedly.
Ancestor de's eyes sharpened, a little curious of this little girl. When he came out last night he also heard a lot from De San about this little girl.
Just at that moment four old men walk towards them with full white hairs and beard.
"You! old bastard, you advance again?" ancestor zhuang blurted noticing ancestor de's grandeur.
Everyone was stunned enviously, they are all at foundation establishment level 9 mid stage and now this old man advanced to level 9 peak stage already.
"hahaha I'm just lucky" he laughs complacently.
Everyone snorted derisively at him but he didn't mind one bit at all.
"Why are you all in here this early?" he asked with squinted eyes after inviting them to sat down and poured them a cup of tea.
"Hmmmp. Why didn't you told us that you're sending your little rascal outside for experience learning?" the ancestors complained except for ancestor zhuang because his daughter, zhuang yao'er send him this news earlier.
The ancestors then start bantering like young children far from their mighty impression from the common folks hearts at all.
"hehe, I just know of it yesterday too" ancestor de laughed awkwardly. Although he didn't lie but he really didn't intend to let these old fogies know of it. 'But it seems this old zhuang already got a whiff of this news beforehand. That son of mine is not really reliable' he thought as he gives patriarch de a sharp glare who was seating at the side.
Patriarch de shivered fearfully, trying to recall how he wronged his father.
Although their clans have deep friendship they always competed in strength and things like this is a big deal for them because it could break their balance. But not seriously really, they simply like to compete with each other and brag and show off like children.
"Hmmp. Knowing you, you must have intentionally hide it from us right?" Ancestor tian stated coldly.
"hehe old tian you really know me too well" he bellowed in laughter not embarrassed at all that he's been exposed.
"hmmp. Don't think you can get away from us just like this" ancestor hai said meaningfully with a smirk.
ancestor de's face changed dramatically. 'how did these bastards find out about my precious wine?' he cursed internally with a forced smile already having a suspect in mind.
Patriarch de shivered again as old de shot a cold glare at him, he scrambled away like seeing a ghost before his father could smack his head.
"Hmmp, don't you think old zhuang isn't as affected as you all" he muttered in delight as he watched old zhuang's calm face drinking tea twisted bitterly.
"I---" before he managed to finished his words the three other ancestors chased him for a beating without using their qi.
"You old bastard you also know of it yet you didn't tell us" the ancestors roared and beat him up.
Before old de's smile totally formed a delightful arc he was also chased around and beaten by the others.
It didn't take long before the serene place turns upside down. Thankfully, a barrier was protecting the koi pond so it's not affected but the koi fish were all frightened and hides deep down the pond.
