CHAPTER 279: I want to follow you (2)
After settling everything down yu yue was just basking in the sun in her terrarium palace when one of the maids announce that a certain someone was seeking audience.
"who could it be?" yu yue mumbled absentmindedly as she caressed little white and little black contentedly.
"so you have really forgotten about me. You're really ruthless" an aggrieved voice sigh like an abandoned wife which makes yu yue's body trembled.
'right, there's still this person' she face-palmed as her body jerked uncontrollably. How could she forget about their deal?
She stiffly turned her head as she laughs awkwardly trying to hide her guilt, "how could I forgot about our dear savior" she said smilingly but her face betrayed her expression as her eyelids twitch several times.
After the incident in cloud river city, this hooligan insisted on following her here after borrowing the sand snake for a while. She just let him be and arrange a courtyard for him and eventually forgotten about his existence at all as she's been busy dealing with some matters.
She could finally relax after weeks of restlessness so how could she have the mood to think about him. If he didn't show up in front of her on his own accord she won't even remember the deal at all.
"your smile is uglier than a cry" he teased nonchalantly with raised brows.
Yu yue was stumped so she coughs in embarrassment as she changed the topic. "ahem! What are you looking me for?" she quickly brews some tea for him.
"remember our deal?" He smiled cunningly as he sat down, he didn't expose her though.
Yu yue's body stiffened as she pours his tea. "oh, what about it?" she pretended to be calm as she rubs her palms together under the sleeves in anxiety. She has no idea what his condition is so she could just pray that it's not too much. She can't go back on her words as well, she already accepted his favor so it would be too despicable to do so.
Sheng shi jie was amused by her reaction so he took a sip of the tea first before answering unhurriedly. The more unhurried he is the more anxious yu yue was.
"so what's your condition?" yu yue probe, unable to contain the awkward silence anymore.
He lifted his gaze, directly looking into her eyes as he said with all seriousness. "I want to follow you"
Yu yue's her heart was about to explode but his words were just shocking. She was petrified for a moment unable to comprehend what just he said.
"w-what do you mean?" she muttered blankly. How come she can't make out any sense with his words?
"like literally. Basically staying with you" he curled his lips amusedly.
"why? What for?" yu yue furrowed her brows unable to understand it, she thought he would ask for a hefty sum of money, he might need some help, or even he wants some treasure that she has.
"I have nowhere to go" he lied with a serious face, he wasn't fully lying though.
He indeed has nowhere to go in this realm, besides he doesn't feel like going back to the higher realm yet. He also have some suspicions that he would be able to find his soul fragments quickly with this girl's help.
