Meanwhile, at glacial moon valley the gleaming night sky suddenly darkened as black fogs surrounded the barrier emitting an ominous heavy death energy.
The illusory light from the moon dimmed as the black fog wrapped around the barrier like a coat of ink.
The disciples' hairs stood on their ends uncontrollably as they shivered with goosebumps.
Wang ling was highly sensitive to death energy naturally so she stood up immediately with warry eyes. The others also felt the ominous aura in the atmosphere as they went out to investigate.
"first master, the barrier is showing signs of collapsing" a male disciple rushed in to report.
"w-what? How can that be?" xue'er was stunned, the barrier was set up by elder qi. In this realm nothing should be able to shatter it.
"first miss, you should stay here with lady shan shou and the celestial maidens. Wang ling and I would handle it." hua ling spoke solemnly as she followed wang ling outside.
"mnn" xue'er nodded in agreement as she caressed her baby bump worriedly. Her face solemn, she could tell it's something ominous.
Wang ling and hua ling teleported down the valley. Where some disciples on patrol back away as the cracked in the barrier gets bigger and bigger, it even makes a noise resembling a cracking egg shell. It sounded far from comforting to the ears though, their heart thumped loudly like galloping horses.
"oh food! Someone is actually so kind to send food to my doorstep hahaha" wang ling laugh joyously as her eyes brightened.
Her laughs break the silence of the night; the disciples were dumbfounded by her sudden laughter. They thought she have gone crazy from fear. If grownup men like them trembled and shuddered in fear just at the sight, then how much more of this 3-year-old kid?
They glanced at each other reflecting their same thoughts through their eyes.
"m-miss hua ling, w-what's going on" a braver disciple asks after gulping a few times as he turned his head to the duo stiffly.
"death fogs, remember those corroded and dried up death cases?" hua ling spoke briefly.
"hissed!" the disciples couldn't help but gasps in horror when they remembered the sight of their dead fellow disciples.
At that moment the barrier finally shattered into pieces, the disciples couldn't help but scream in fear with their legs going weak as they shivered at the heavy death aura.
Without second thought wang ling flew upwards with her black bat wings and protruding fangs. Her child like aura immediately disappeared, replaced with a thick death aura.
"you should all retreat" hua ling shouted as she waves her hands and the golden staff appeared hitting the ground with a light pleasing ringing sound. She then erected a holy barrier that covered the entire valley.
"wang ling make it fast, I can't hold for too long" she reminded. Her holy barrier won't last long; it would consume a lot of energy.
"hehehe no problem" wang ling replied coyly as she takes a deep breath and actually sucked all the death fogs in a matter of seconds.
