CHAPTER 224: Walking in the water (2)
Elder ye baihe wave her hand after jumping at the top of one of the gigantic lily leaves without causing a ripple. She sat there crossed legs, with a wave of her hand a gourd appeared on her hands. Once she uncorks it, a strong scent of a fragrant wine permeated.
Zi'er scratch her head as she started taking a step into the water, the first step she took her feet almost froze. She immediately withdraws her feet out of the water in a jolt.
"repeat!" ye baihe said lazily.
Zi'er tried once again, she has unwavering trust to yu yue so she didn't make a sound of complain even though she couldn't even take two steps before falling in the lake.
In the entire freezing lake, ye baihe's lazy voice could be heard along with a splashing of water.
"again!"
"again! I said walk, not swim"
"again! Stand tall!"
Shui xian zi almost cried bitter tears, she didn't know how many times had she ever heard that same traumatizing words.
She feels like escaping but even just thinking about it she could feel a threatening aura lock unto her back. She shivered as she tried to walk in the water for tens, hundreds, and thousands of times. She was so frustrated, even with her calm temperament she feels like cursing out loud.
She's been doing this for a month already with just few breaks to recuperate; she could barely feel her feet anymore. Her face showed traces of exhaustion, her skin pale and her body is cold all over to the point she couldn't feel it anymore.
She was like that until finally, her mind went blank. She didn't even notice it as her mind, heart, and body started becoming one with the lake in feeling. She could feel the slight rippling in the water, the movement of lively creatures deep down. She could feel the calm, the force, the life of the water.
Ye baihe who was just lazily dozing off immediately stood up in surprised, her eyes sparkled with excitement.
She stood there quietly as she watched zi'er walks towards the crystal slowly, at first she shook then in every step she takes she slowly started stabilizing herself.
She was still immersed in a daze when she arrived at the platform, her eyes widened in disbelief. She thought she was just dreaming so she looks back and saw ye baihe's beaming figure. "d-did I really did it?" her body trembled, she even forgot how tired she is.
"you just did" she replied as she strode to the platform as well, zi'ers eyes widened full of awe when she saw her walk effortlessly, the water didn't even make any ripple at all. That was the last thing zi'er saw before she fell unconscious.
The others who were just sneakily watching not too far away almost drop their jaws to the ground, they just can't believe it. At first they thought of how ridiculous it is? But now they could only swallow their own words, they didn't make sounds earlier in fear that they would get drag and joined shui xian zi.
They were feeling bad for her, but they didn't have the courage to walk in water as they thought it's just impossible and pointless.
