According to the book 'The beginner's guide to magic,' there was a complete system to test one's talent for magic.

If it took more than 10 years for one to fall into this state, then they will not be given any star and will remain 1 Star-ordinary pupil (with the star from the previous test)

If it took less than then 10 years but more than 5 years, then they will be given half a star (1.5 Star Ordinary pupil)

If it took Less than 5 years but more than 1 year, they will give 1 star (2 Star Genius)

If it took less than a year, then they are given 2 stars for this test (3 Star Genius)
