Watching Movie Together

"What are you doing here?" I was shocked to find Qin Feng standing at my door.

"I wanted to talk about something," He said.

"Please come in." I move aside to let him in.

"You want some Coffee?" I asked him. I was about to make one for myself anyways

"Sure." I nod at him and walk into the kitchen.

He followed me to the kitchen when I didn't notice

"You were crying?" He asked in surprise.

I looked up at him in surprise.

"Yeah." I don't know why but I admitted it.

"Why?" He asks back

"Well my boss fired me saying that I offended someone, so now I have no job, nothing I could do." I explained to him while making coffee.

"Do you want me to help you?" He asks suddenly as we are making our way back to the living room.

I look at him puzzledly not getting his words. What is he going to help me with?

"I can help you get your job back, you know." Qin Feng explained.

His words finally registered in my head.

"I appreciate it, but I won't go back there. I don't want to look like a desperate person who would do anything even after her dignity was trampled." I took a sip of my coffee and continued.

"Although it wasn't anyone's fault, if Luo Mingze wanted he could have put up a fight but he didn't.

He ignored all of the efforts I put into the company these years.

He treated me like a joke.

I might not be powerful, but that doesn't mean he can do anything he wants."

I don't know why I tell him all of this, but it feels good after venting out.

"Do you want another job then?" He asks.

"Let me figure it out first." I want to think clearly about what I can do now.

"What about a business?" He asks again.

"I don't know, I haven't thought about it." I don't know why he is asking all of this.

"Also I don't have that much capital for starting a business anyways."

"I can lend you some." I laugh at his words but stop when he frowns.

I looked into his eyes to confirm that he was joking but nah.

He is very serious at this moment.

"I will think about it." I say. I don't know what to do with him right now. Why is he being nice all of a sudden?

"You came here to tell me about something, right." I say trying to change the topic not knowing it will only lead us to discuss more about it.

"We are launching an investment program, where we will invest in a few startups with potential.

I thought you could give it a try." He explained in detail about it, and I realized for the very first time that he can speak this much.

"Aren't you helping me too much." I knew it was wrong the moment these words left my mouth.

His face turned awkward and I knew he wouldn't be able to answer it.

What can I do? I shot myself in the foot.

"Anyways, I will help you too if the opportunity calls. That's what friends are for after all." I say ending the topic.

I secretly sigh with relief. I should watch my mouth before speaking anything.

"Did you hear about the guy whose left side was cut off?" Qin Feng said.

"What?" I ask him. What he is saying suddenly. I don't understand it.

"He's all right now."

It took me a minute to realise what he meant and another that he just made a joke.

I burst out laughing, remembering how he said it.

He said that as if it was some kind of news of national importance.

"Was that a joke?" I ask knowing fully well it was.

"Yeah, wasn't it obvious?" He asks awkwardly.

I nod.

"I didn't know you knew how to crack jokes too." I say.

"I just searched for them on the internet." He replied. So when he was busy on his phone earlier he was doing this.?

"Why" I know why he did that and he might not tell me if I asked him, but I do so anyway.

"Because you were looking sad." He said as a matter of fact.

"So you searched for a joke to cheer me up?" I ask.

"Yeah I don't know why anyone would laugh at something like this though."

Someone help me. I want to squish his cheeks so badly. How can he be so nice.

"Thank you, I am not feeling sad anymore." I say. It is true indeed.

I never thought that Qin Feng was capable of lifting my mood up.

While he is a pain in ass most of the time, I discovered a nice side of him today.

I don't know what changed between us, but we are friends now. I can say for sure.

I suddenly have an idea as I look at him.

"You know, you can do one more thing to lift my mood up." I say.

"What?" He looks at me suspiciously.

"Please watch a movie with me."

"No." He rejects me.

"You can do this for me, please." I plead.

"No, I can't. " It's like I wasn't going to hear his rejection today.

I ignored his protests and chose a horror movie.

Well this was the perfect escape from life.

Qin Feng did not show many emotions during the whole movie. He would just frown for a while when he found the leads stupid.

He would also call out to them for their intelligence.

I played another movie before he could say anything. I am enjoying this a lot.

The sky darkened without us knowing.

Just as I relaxed completely the doorbell rang.

I wonder who would be at this time. I looked through the peephole, and am shocked to see who's standing outside.

I panic because Qin Feng is also with me in the house.
