1 ch 1 a new world (Re)

The very first thing that felt wrong to me was the temperature. Wasn't a hell supposed to be scalding hot. Why is everything so cold?

Then came the other questions. Why is everything so blue? Where is the person who is supposed to guide me in this place and lastly why are there two creatures coming to kill me.

One of them is holding an ax and the other is holding a sword and they are coming right at me and they are not peaceful.

Thankfully, I also have a weapon with me. It is a giant two-handed sword placed next to me. I pick it up and I can feel my body creak about. To think that even the devils are using an artificially made body to come and attack us. I seem to be wearing some kind of armor, though I can't feel its weight.

Well, I still can't see the enemies in front of me clearly but I can see that they are pretty small. They are about two-thirds of my height and both of them seem very thin. I can't see their faces though, my sight is still very blurry.

While I am still getting used to this body, the two enemies have already come pretty close to me. They stare at me for a few seconds, as if they were trying to assess if I was a threat or not and suddenly the one with the ax comes at me. It is almost on instinct that I make a sidestep and rather than solid ground all I can find is empty ground.

I fall to the ground with a clang. It is only then that I realize that I was standing on a pedestal. I am surprised that I had not noticed that.

Now is not the time to wonder, as I quickly steady myself before the enemy can come in and attack me. I have not gotten up, but I am in a half crouching position such that I can roll away from any strike. Fortunately, The enemy is keeping his distance from me. They seem to be quite scared of me.

I use that moment of fear to get up. In that time, the enemy is inching towards me quite carefully I add. Any sudden movement and I am sure that they will attack.

This standoff of ours continues for the next few seconds, at the end of which I suddenly grab onto the sword that is on the pedestal.

It almost slips out of my grasp. This blade is too light. It is a proper two-handed sword but with its weight, I can use it with a single hand.

The sword user is the first to strike this time. I block his swing with my sword. My swing is enough to push him off balance as he tumbles to the ground. I can't finish him though as the ax user appears in front of me.

I try to step out of the way, but this time I fail as the ax makes a scratch In the armor. At least this armor is strong enough. The ax user retreats backward, out of the range of my sword.

Well, I can't deal with two of them at the same time, especially there seems to be some kind of a mix-up in bodies.

What are the devils doing? They are supposed to have provided me with a small and agile body. This is the opposite of my request. This body is large and bulky.

Well, the sword user has gotten up in this exchange and slowly inching towards me from the back.

Well, it looks like I will have to take a certain amount of risk. I aim for the head of the ax user and throw it. At the same time, I turn the other direction and charge at the sword user.

What was supposed to be an ambush becomes pretty obvious to the enemy, as he swings his sword at my head. I can't stop my movement forward so all I can do is use my left hand to block its strike.

I was expecting the sword would aimlessly clang of my armor and that I would use that moment to grab onto his throat and strangle him to death. This body of one seems to be strong enough for that task.

What I was not expecting was that he would be able to cut off my entire freaking hand. It felt cool at fast, but the pain followed soon enough. It took me a moment to focus again, but thankfully that seems to have shocked the enemy similarly.

Before he reacts, I grab my enemy by its throat and begin to squeeze his throat. The enemy tries to struggle, but I finally feel the neck of the enemy snap.

(A few minutes later)

I still don't know where I am or what am I even doing here. I am not in any place related to the devils. I can tell whenever the devils are around. They have this unique aura around them. It is hard to put into words. Let's just say that I can smell their backstabbery.

Well, that brings me to the next surprising matter. There is nobody beneath the armor. Somehow I am possessing the armor. Right now I have a thousand questions in my mind, but I push them to the back of my mind. Now is not the time to enter into a panic. Right now the first thing I need to do is to guarantee my safety and that will not be happening with me asking questions. I will need to see what am I working with first of all and then gather information on what is happening.

For this first, I look at myself.

Right now everything around me is blurry and in shades of blue. It is almost as if the world around me is a painting with constantly swirling shades of blue.

I have read records of this. It should be mana sense that is used by many undead and many spirits too. I have never experienced it before but it is as weird as they say it is. I seem to have a sense of touch but I certainly seem to lack my other senses. It is pretty uncomfortable, to only have two senses.

Other than that, this body is strong, a step above the bodies I am usually provided with. Well, it does lack in speed but I can't do anything about that. I will have to work with what I am given.

Next, I take a look at my surroundings

I can confirm that I am not in some form of a hot place, because it freezing. The reason for that could be that I am in a mountain peak or at the very least a certain distance from the top. Other than that I can confirm that I am in some form of a cemetery. The place seems to be empty. I can see that most of the graves have been dugout. A necromancer is the usual reason for such a thing to happen.

If that is the case, then it will be a headache. A necromancer is both the easiest and the hardest of enemies to fight.

Anyway, that leaves the last thing for me to consider. That would be the two corpses that are lying in front of me. I cannot see them exactly, but based on their body shape I would say it is a kind of humanoid creature.

I am conflicted between whether it is a goblin or an imp. Both have similar structures and with my vision, it is harder to tell. Regardless, both of them are not something that I can handle right now. Honestly, it will be easier to deal with an imp. Those guys tend to be solitary creatures, unlike the goblins who are pack hunters.

I am surprised that whoever the enemy has yet to react, but they should be appearing soon enough. Judging from the two guards that they have left behind, there might be a possibility for me to survive this after all.

(Meanwhile )

Not far from the graveyard is a small collection of huts, belonging to a bunch of goblins. The goblins usually do not personally have the skill, not the ability to create such things, but this particular group is very unique. They have an elder after all. Anyway, Inside the largest hut, sit a group of four goblins. The leader of the group is the aged goblin known as elder bone.

The other three younger goblins, all are discussing with each other excitedly, arguing and cutting each other out, clearly trying to impress their elder. Anyway, this noisy argument continues until the elder suddenly clears his throat, quietening the bunch instantly.

Elder bone - little ones, how is the situation at the border. what are our losses.

Goblin knight - elder, we are being forced to deal with dungeon spawn from the north and the south. The humans also will come to attack us in the north, soon enough. The situation in the north is pretty bad.

Goblin leader- the valley of the fallen is also not a possibility for escape. The enemies there are too powerful. Every troop we have sent has barely done a dent in that place. The named ones could have a better chance but I don't want to take that kind of risk yet.

Elder bone - what about the mountain. There seem to be no enemies. Maybe we can retreat there.

Goblin mage - elder, there seem to be some kind of an enemy up there too. We sent a couple of the nameless ones to scout out that area, but those guys life force disappeared when they went up the mountain.

Elder bone - that is my mistake, I have an experiment present up there, looks like it is working. Don't send anybody up there for some time.

Goblin leader - yes, elder. I don't want to waste my troops anyway. I will be going up there tomorrow.

Elder bone - what about our food requirements, what is happening about that.

Goblin mage - well, we already have enough food to last for a couple of months even if we were to consider the nameless ones. If we were to abandon them, I believe we should have enough for about half a year.

Their discussion trail on, discussing the logistics of the matter. The meeting ends soon, with no real decision made. The elder knows that in the end, these guys will do what they wish to do. All he can hope to do is direct them, and make sure that they do nothing stupid.

The goblins are a weird bunch, they hold an obsession with names that is not you are in the other species. Their entire society is based on names and titles.

At the very bottom of the wrung, you have the nameless, whose position is equivalent to that of a slave. They do all the menial work and are the cannon fodder in most battles.

Then come the named ones, who hold some form of position In the goblin village. Soldiers, healers, hunters are a few such examples.

Then come the titled ones. These are the most powerful people in the village. The leader of the armed troops of the village is known as goblin knight. The strongest mage is the goblin mage and the leader of the village, the goblin leader.

Lastly comes the elder, who is the strongest in the village in terms of might. You can say the entire village will only exist due to the power of this single goblin. Their work is to be the figurehead of the tribe, literally being the face of the tribe, and hunt down any that dares to break the rules of the tribe. Other than that they also tend to give their wisdom to the young ones
