Ren arrived earlier than most would expect, well he was 3 hours early to the class, he carried a bunch of leaves to practice as he hopped on the very last seat.
'Stupid block...' Ren muttered as he looked at the Quest completed block floating in front of him.
As soon as he woke up today two blocks were floating above his head, having gotten used to their existence and begrudgingly admitting they could be useful as he felt the chakra flowing through his body. While the first block was good, it was the second one that made him hurry to the academy 3 hours before the reporting time.

Ren was looking at his status block again, he had been looking at the same stats for a while now, he had 15 points to distribute but he was hesitating right now. According to the boxes through exercise there was a way to increase his stats, so he didn't want to increase any stats through points right now.
'Let's store those points only to be used in case of an emergency, or until I can't increase my stats through training anymore.'
Ren knew the differences between shinobi didn't come from a lack of dedication, almost every shinobi, at least all of the young ones were completely dedicated to improving themselves, or at least that was the case for most of them. There were many things that separated the shinobi who were able to reach Jounin level strength and those who weren't.
While the quality of their education and their chakra affinity all mattered, Ren knew the real difference was talent.
'...but now that same talent cap meant nothing to me.'
Ren had felt the difference in talent, while he worked hard every day, Neji became stronger and faster after every spar. The difference in physical abilities kept on increasing, it was a daunting thing to face after each spar.
Still, while Ren wasn't the best in class, he wasn't the dead last either. He graduated nearly at the top of his class, 3rd in the total comprehensive rankings, and 2nd in the sparring and Taijutsu. Neji was the only clan kid in his class and Ren was the best among everyone else.
'What are Neji's stats like anyway, if Neji wasn't the greatest genius in history then in the next class there are probably 2 more people who are possibly stronger than Neji.'
Ren smirked, the fire to compete reignited in his eyes, now that they possibly had a level playing field, Ren was all for snatching the Rookie of the Year title.
'To be rookie of the year when there are so many clan kids in this class...'
Ren closed his eyes as he took it out from his pocket and stuck it on his inner wrist.

Ren could hear the whispers, the class was starting to fill up, he had used up half of his chakra, and even then he had more chakra than the last time he came to the academy. He opened his eyes and looked around, a sea of blue boxes greeted him as he read through the names one by one.

Ren looked at the blond-haired kid who was shouting and smiling like the sun just came out of his arse.

Ren didn't like the blond buffoon, he was an atrocity in the name of shinobi. There were many rumors going around about his terrible personality and sadistic nature, and the pranks he did all over the village and even in his previous class were so annoying.
'Didn't he force his way into the exams a couple of weeks ago and failed...'
The previous mold that Ren had for Uzumaki was of a cocky upto no good prankster, but now he didn't exactly fit into that mold, no matter how bad it was, he was still twice as strong as the Yamanaka girl. After going through everyone's level, Ren had a general idea of where everyone was at.
The average level of civilian kids in the class was 3, and the average level of clan kids was 5. The only two that stood out were the potential genius that Ren wanted to beat, Uchiha Sasuke, and no way in hell a genius Uzumaki Naruto.
'This is going to be fun...'

Ren watched his new sensei walk into the room, as Iruka began yelling at his students to quiet down, Ren switched target to Sasuke once again, he used the technique that he accidentally created a couple of days ago when he was staring at the wall too hard while thinking about these new powers of his.
