42 After School Adventures (1)

"Is it me or do you look a little excited today?" Will asked as he looked at Aiden's face with curious eyes.

"Well, who knows." Aiden replied as he suddenly turned towards the entrance of the classroom.

'So that maid has returned huh.' He thought as he could feel someone glancing at him.

In the past few classes, the maid would sometimes come to look at Aiden before moving away and because of this, Aiden had a few guesses about her identity.

'If my guess is right, she is either a spy or an assassin. I should probably tell mother about this.' Aiden thought silently as an idea suddenly appeared inside his mind.

"Will, can you currently do the thing you used to stay hidden during the trial of worth?" Aiden asked as Will looked around before slowly nodding.

"So can you use it on two people?" Aiden then asked as Will nodded.

"That's not a difficult thing to do. But why did you ask about this?" He asked as Aiden smiled.

"Are you up for some adventuring?" Aiden asked as Will looked confused but his eyes were shining.

"It depends on what type of adventure we will go on." He replied as Aiden pointed out of the door.

"I have never seen the academy since I am directly dropped here. I want to go and explore the school." He replied as Will's eyes shone brightly but he soon narrowed them.

"What is the real thing that you won't do?" He then asked as Aiden sighed.

'There was no way that someone like him would be naive. Guess there is no harm in telling him about it.'

Will was not as brain-dead and naive as the people Aiden had read about in fantasy books. To say the least, which was actually the least since Aiden didn't really know much about Will, he could be considered average.

But there was a chance that Will was extremely intelligent.

'I guess I will see that in the future.' Aiden had a small smile on his face since this was the first time he was excited to see what would happen in the future.

"Ever since the classes started I felt as though someone was spying on me and my doubt was true. Now that person is back so I am thinking about checking it." Aiden whispered as he averted his gaze towards the door.

He had no way of knowing whether the person could hear him or not so whispering was the best option he had.

"Shouldn't you tell that to your parents or our teacher?" Will also glanced at the door as though he was trying to see whether someone was really there or not.

"But then I won't get to explore this place." Aiden protested as Will smiled.

"You are not the only one who wants to see this place. Every single child here is wondering what this place looks like." Will said as he pointed towards the entire class.

"Wait, what?" Aiden seemed dumbfounded by what WIll told him since he had been expecting that he was the only one getting the special treatment.

"Every single one of the families of the children you see here has a certain number of shadow users who jump from one place to another and take the children to this room." Will looked surprised as though he couldn't believe that Aiden didn't know this.

"Do they wear black clothes and a mask?" Aiden asked back even though he had a feeling taht it was a stupid question.

"That's the standard dress for a shadow user working anywhere. Shadow users are not that large in number so the ones who are there have to hide their identity.

'I will ask mother to tell me about all the basics today when we train.' Aiden thought silently before he decided to ask Will about the main thing.

"So, would you like to explore this place with me?"

"I would, but how will we exit this classroom to do that?" Will asked with a curious look as Aiden smiled.

Their class has a special barrier paced on the door which only allowed certain people to enter or exit the room. But Aiden had a way to cross it.

"I am a shadow user too you know." Aiden held his hands up as shadows appeared around his fingers.

"But do you know how to shadow jump?" Will looked doubtful about whether Aiden knew shadow jump or not.

And his doubts were confirmed when Aiden shook his head.

"But I do know Shadow jump."

Aiden's words made Will's eyes shine in excitement. After all the young boy was also excited to roam the place.

"But what if we get in some trouble?" He then asked as Aiden chuckled.

"If a problem comes, we can just teleport using my shadow walk. I can teleport within 20 meters of myself."

"Then let's do it."

William then closed his eyes as his hands slowly started glowing. The glow was golden and felt warm as it slowly extended from Will's hands to his entire body.

"Currently you are the only one who can see me," Will said while enjoying the look of surprise on Aiden's face. "Don't ask anyone if they can see me or not."

"I know that. Anyways, what about me?" Aiden didn't mind the reminder Will gave him since he was excited to see the skill being used on him.

"Be patient Aiden," Will reminded while closing his eyes again. "Perfection only comes with patience."

"You sound like a philosophist."

"You didn't know? I am a city renowned philosophist" Will smiled at his own words before the glow from his body also extended toward ds Aiden and covered his body.

Aiden could feel heat being generated around his body as though he was standing near a bonfire.

"Now that we are hidden, let's go." Will sounded as excited as Aiden felt. After all, it was his first time exploring the area around him.

However, he was not naive and dumb.

He had an idea why the noble families and his own family used shadow guards to travel from one place to another.

< Host, try to stay away from danger. Though I guess danger finds you. But still, remember that you are still a kid. > The system warned as Aiden sighed.

'I know that system but still, you are right about that. Being a kid has many perks as well as disadvantages. But for now, let's step out.'

Aiden then looked at Will who nodded for him to proceed. He then took a deep breath and slowly released the range of his shadow walk.

He felt a shadow outside and with a final glance in the classroom direction, both of them vanished.

But what they didn't realize was that a person sitting in the class had been looking in their direction the entire time.

'Interesting. I wonder where they have gone.' Zoe had been looking in Aiden and Will's direction for quite some while.

The reason was simply that she had nothing to do. But when she had seen both of them vanish, she had a feeling taht her boring day would not be boring anymore.
