Silver Hair (2)

He was kneeling to the ground and asked himself if he was discovered or 25 tricked him about the functionality of the cape again. As he was thinking so, he heard a clashing of swords from above him. He looked up and saw two swords intertwined. At the sight of the scene, he began to perspire thinking just how close he was to death. He may not even have the chance the three days expiration set on him if he was not able to dodge on time!

"I was sure I masked my presence completely there. I wonder what gave it away…"

Another boy began talking to the silver-haired boy. The new arrival had hair that was as golden as the sun. He had indeed masked his presence very well were it not for a certain blue-haired boy; he could have successfully sneaked up. He had an air of magnificence as if all people must prostrate to him. While the silver-haired boy had a peaceful but cold air with him, the golden-haired boy exuded a bright and wild disposition.

Kiel immediately backed out of range before any of the two's sword can create further damage to him physically and mentally. However, not forgetting his mission, he backed off in such a way that he can still hear the two's conversation.

"My dear cousin! Welcome to the palace, it has been so long since I've seen you!"

The golden-haired boy tried hugging the silver-haired one. To which the silver-haired one, skillfully dodged.

"Back off, Charles. I am just here because my father wanted me to protect you."

Kiel's ears perked up at the mention of the name and realized that the new arrival was his actual target, not the other one.

"Protect me from what? Lucas, or is it to protect me from your father's schemes again?"

To which the silver-haired boy now known as Lucas responded.

"I see you still hold a grudge against what my father did to you..."

The two's atmosphere began to plummet down when Charles cheered up the atmosphere around them.

"Anyways, I may not trust your father but I do trust you with my life, Lucas!"

Charles tried wrapping one of his hands again on his cousin's neck but Lucas remained elusive.

"Oh… not fair, Lucas. I just want us to be friends, you know!"

Charles began chasing Lucas as they moved away from the garden.

Kiel followed after the two and observed their relationship dynamics. Lucas, in the novel he knew, was someone who coveted the throne together with his father, the current prime minister. He remembered that the Lucas in the novel was actually a far off relative of the royal family. This is because the great grandmother of the prime minister was the sister of the king of that time. A special feature of the royal family of Asmira was their silver hair. Because of the silver-haired princess he met, he had forgotten the detail that the crown prince's hair was not silver.

Unfortunately, Charles, the crown prince was born with golden ones taking after the feature of the queen's family instead of the king's. Meanwhile, a distant relative of theirs had a son born with silver hair. The prime minister who was greedy for power used it as a chance to stir up trouble in the political situation of Asmira.

The prime minister thought that if the crown prince didn't exist, the next in line for the throne would be his son. That was the reason why he continued creating opportunities to assassinate the crown prince. Due to the constant attempts on his life, Charles matured earlier than children his age while Lucas became more and more corrupt due to his father's influence on him.

In this world, however, Charles and Lucas seemed to be fond of each other. This was another deviation to the novel and Kiel thought just how awesome he was as a mob character. He still thought that he was the sole reason all those deviations happened.
