"Beatrix" Xavier called out, clearly he wasn't expecting to see her. 

She saw Damien sitting there, his back was facing her but she didn't miss how tense his body was. 

He slowly turned around to look at her and Beatrix felt the familiar ache coming back again. 

She didn't say a word and just stared at him. God he looked horrible. 

There were dark circles under his eyes and his hair looked like it hadn't seen a brush for days. 

His eyes looked empty and tired. She was expecting him to at least look happy that she was back but his face gave nothing away. He averted his gaze from her and Beatrix felt her heart sink.

Maybe coming here was a bad mistake. Taking a deep breath, Beatrix came to stand in front of him. He stared at her for a few seconds before he looked away.

Probably he was embarrassed for what he had done.
