179 Treasure Pavilion (5)

Author's note: this is from Seraphina's point of view

Killian didn't say anything, but I had a feeling this was my chance to prove myself. If I impress him, he might stop scrutinizing me all the time.

I reached into my purse, and I fished out two bottles of pills that I didn't put for auction. They were not the top products, but they were not shabby either. I kept them in case we got ambushed, as a decoy, or as a bribe that would allow me time to find a way out.

With so many different creatures in Darkshire, I needed more than my abilities to assure my safety. In the end, I could only rely on myself.

I turned to look at Niles and Aleran who were standing by the door like guards.

"Can you take this to rooms C-14 and C-17? One is for Ketura Aleron, the heiress of the Blazing Phoenix clan, and the other is for Gair Octavian, the next master of the Soaring Wind clan. Tell them that these are gifts from young Miss of the Mezzanotte family."
