188 The hatchling

Did I black out due to the pain?

That shouldn't be the case. I experienced much worse and stayed conscious. What the heck happened?

The necklace was not burning my neck anymore. It was cooling and soothing, and it felt natural like it belonged there.

Numerous whispers filled my mind. The words were unintelligible as sounds echoed and overlapped, but I knew they were for me to hear. I couldn't make out the words.

I came to my senses to hear Vesper cursing.

"You wretched hatchling. Come here before I fry you!"

Hatchling? Did she lose her mind, or did I?

I panicked when I remembered that I was in Darkshire, Gair and his men surrounded me, there was a storm, and this was NOT the place to sit and wonder from where mysterious voices are coming! There was a possibility that I was losing my mind.
