"You can only blame yourself for this; who told you to be so gullible?" laughed David as he looked at the barely moving figure sprawled on the floor. Li Qiang looked up, his clear doe-like eyes bleak and full of hurt. Fighting tears, he looked past his burning house containing years of hard work and watched David walk away. 'My designs, my house, my friend; They're all gone.' thought Li Qiang hopelessly.

'No, I won't give up. Never. My designs may be gone, but my creativity lives on within me.' Li Qiang pulled himself off the ground and walked away from his burning house. He walked around aimlessly, reliving memories of how he first met David.

It was back in England, in design school. As the introvert he was, coupled with his eccentricity during his artistic moods, he didn't have friends.

David was the one that discovered his talent and had become his only friend and a manager figure over the years. Li Qiang trusted him with his life...well until a few months ago.

He had noticed David acting sneaky and suspicious recently, so he started to trust him less. Although he might look harmless and gullible, he still knew how to protect himself and his designs to an extent, in this treacherous society.

This is why the betrayal didn't hurt as much as it should and why he could bounce back so quickly. He predicted a lot of things, but not his house burning down. How unfortunate, n insurance. It seems like David didn't just want to steal his designs but kill off his dreams and talents. Luckily, Li Qiang is irrepressible and pretty smart. Looking down at the USB that hung from his neck, he managed a smile. A pure smile full of happiness, one that definitely should not be there after what he had gone through.

The USB contained his new designs, his best yet. David hadn't seen these designs. It was the reason he was able to bounce back so quickly, mentally.
