9 Chapter 9

Megan entered the house, her eyebrows raised when she saw Aunty Jessica and her husband Bruce had returned from abroad. Her excitement was cut short when Raymond looked at her with deadly eyes.

"You think you can make a fool of me; you better pay me my money now before I do something unspeakable."

Megan was surprised; she thought Mr. Raymond was here because he had gotten the information.

"Mr. Raymond, your—"

"Shut up your mouth! You think I'm stupid to believe whatever you have to say. I know you're going to start crying and begging for mercy, but it's too late for that."

Raymond didn't see Damien's.

"Where is that bastard husband of yours? He thinks he can get away from me. I'm going to cut off that useless tongue of his."

"No.. Mr. Raymond, I actually got the—"

Lady Helen shouted at Megan, "Shut up, silly girl! You should be on your knees pleading for mercy, and accept Mr. Raymond's generous offer." Megan didn't put her ears to her grandmother's words; she wonders if Mr. Raymond was just pretending not to be aware of the contract renewal.

"Mr. Raymond, your contract with Globex Corporation has just been renewed!" Everyone looks at Megan disgusted.

Jessica, the last child of Sir Bernard, couldn't stand the disgusting situation anymore.

She walked close to Megan and landed a heavy slap on Megan's face.

"Slap!"

"You fool, I thought you were smart; I never knew you were this foolish." With a curled-up nose, she looks at Megan.

"You better do what my mother asks of you."

She quickly moved closer and faced Mr. Raymond with a smile on her face.

Please, Mr. Raymond, she was just acting childishly; please forgive her. I will personally move her belongings to your house today. Please we accept your former proposal."

Raymond pushed her away; she fell to the ground, and he looked up with a deadly look.

"I'm going to give all of you one hour to provide my money. I don't care who made the bet. You all are going to cough out my money."

Megan quickly uttered

"Mr Raymond I am 100 percent sure your contract has been returned. Director Evelyn told me so herself: "

Everyone was furious at Megan's words. Jessica quickly Stand up to slap Megan again; you and your worthless husband caused this, and now the family is going to face the wrath. She was about to make an impact when Damien and Megan's parents entered the room.

Raymond quickly held Damien before he could even speak.

"Where is my money, you bastard? I'm going to deal with you today."

Damien was surprised Raymond was acting this way. He believes Raymond was trying to play games with them. He looked at him with narrowed eyes.

"Stop fooling around. Go on your knees and apologize to my wife."

Raymond and everyone were puzzled by Damien's words. At that moment, Raymond's phone rang; it was his Secretary calling.

He let go of Damien and answered the call.

"Sir, Globex Corporation just reinstated our contract; the news is now on their official social media page."

Raymond didn't say anything when he ended the call; he just couldn't believe Megan was able to pull this off.

Dennis quickly voiced

"Father, Mr. Raymond's contract has just been reinstated; it has been posted on their official page." Everyone was shocked by the news.

Damien, with a tightly pressed lip, looked at Raymond.

"You better honor your bet Megan got your contract back.

Lady Helen screamed at Damien, "Shut up! You bastard, do you think Megan was responsible for this contract? That useless head of yours must be empty."

Now that the contract issue has been resolved, Lady Helen still wanted Megan to get married to Mr. Raymond. She quickly moved closer to Mr. Raymond and smiled, Please, Mr. Raymond, don't be offended by this mad man. He has mental issues. He talks nonsense all the time." She offered Mr. Raymond a seat, and she sat close to him.

"Please reconsider your previous offer; this time I will personally bring her belongings to your house.

Raymond knew it was Megan that got him his contract back, but he doesn't want to pay the 10 million dollar bet fine and also apologize to her.

That will be an insult to his personality.

"I will reconsider, but on one condition."

"What conditions..say it, Mr. Raymond and it will be done?"

Lady Helen asked anxiously. Raymond pointed at Damien.

"This fool and Megan must go on their knees and apologize to me." Lady Helen looked at Damien with deadly eyes, and she screamed at them.

"What are you still doing? Go down on your knees and apologize to Mr. Raymond!"

Damien was finding everything hard to believe; he couldn't believe this fool would play games with him. He walked closer to Mr. Raymond. His eyes were cold.

"I'm giving you ten minutes. Go down on your knees, apologize to my wife, and pay the $10 million fine, or else you won't like what will happen to you."

Everyone paused. Nobody could say anything.

Sir Bernard voiced out

"You are a mad man; go down on your knees and apologize to Mr. Raymond this minute,"

he said with an angry look on his face.

"Are you still standing there? Go down on your knees and apologize to your new husband."

Sir Bernard knows Mr. Raymond can help them get back their own contract since he easily got his back; he must've used some powerful connections, so he wanted to do everything to please him.

Damien wasn't listening to their words.

"You will be sorry very soon. Don't say I didn't warn you."

Raymond stands up from his seat.

"You want me to apologize to someone who did nothing; she can't deceive me. I contacted my friend to help me out; he was the one that got back my contract."

He Squinted his eyes.

"I will never apologize or pay a fine to this liar."

Megan quickly uttered

"I'm not a liar; director Evelyn personally told me herself—"

"And you decided to negotiate only the contract of Mr. Raymond and leave your family contract,"

Jessica cut Megan off. Megan thinks she can deceive us; this shows how she cares only for herself. She wants to take Mr. Raymond's money and run away with this monkey.

Raymond walks out of the room and says.

"When these two fools are ready to do the needful, they should come to my house."

Damien Squeezed his fists as he watched Raymond leave the house. Sir Bernard said with glaring eyes, "I'm going to give my last warning. Go and apologize to Mr. Raymond, or you all will be disowned from this family."

Sir Bernard pointed at Terry and said, "You're also involved; make sure your useless daughter does the needful. If not, I'm disowning you as my son."

Upon hearing that, Terry quickly held Megan's hand and ran after Mr. Raymond Doris followed him from behind.
