42 Chaos Ensured
Rentaro's eyes widened, and shock quickly took over the pain as he watched Quint sever his arm from his shoulder.
As he screeched egregiously, his eyes rolled back, falling backwards as he lost consciousness.
"Rentaro!" Roy cried out, his four eyes streaming as he rushed to his side.
Kyon followed along, fury in his eyes as the wind around him started to rage.
[Rentaro! Rentaro! You'll be okay! Hang in there!] Wilhelm screamed out in panic from the system, with even Tess remaining silent in concern.
Likewise, a great battle ensued in the Grimoire of Twilight. Though, only those inside would know why.
"Dammit!" Quint yelled, grabbing a hold of him, "I think I made it in time though."
He shifted his gaze to the arm, wrapped in the frog's wet tongue, oozing in black venom.
Suddenly, the tongue retracted itself, as the frog swallowed it whole. And before the others could enact vengeance, the frog vanished into thin hair.
Tsyun shouted, "It's got a camouflage technique, similar to my Djinn bloodline's invisibility."
Quint gave a sharp nod, beckoning, "Kia-Nian, Use your lightning to cauterize Rentaro's wound. And like last time, I'm relying on you to take care of him."
"Of course!"
Kia-Nian instantly agreed, his purple lightning discharging from his body as it covered Rentaro's wound. Thanks to the mutated restorative factors of his lightning, the bleeding quickly stopped.
"Icrin!" He called out, "Get over here. I have long since had a sense of familiarity with you, so let me show you something."
Icrin hurried over, breathing rapidly in panic, 'I don't want to lose anyone else!'
"He lost his arm, but don't worry, he will live." Kia-Nian then chanted with his hand out, "Vultisori's Embrace - Summoning Stamp of Vultasori!"
His pupils changed, blooming into blue iris flowers as a being overflowing in wood and life energies took form in front of him.
Icrin exclaimed in shock, "Vultisori?"
"Not quite, Vultisori had two flowers—each one gave birth to the next of its kind, Vultasori. You and I both possess one of the flowers, which exists within the space of our souls."
As they spoke, Vultasori's vines wrapped around Rentaro, its wood and life energies flowing into him.
Kia-Nian continued, "Icrin, you can call forth Vultasori, to fight together. In a way, the two of us are somewhat similar to Rentaro by having a summon. And since Vultasori lives within our soul, it also shares its Primal Instinct with us. Now, close your eyes and repeat the same chant as I did."
Nodding, Icrin chanted, "Vultisori's Embrace - Summoning Stamp of Vultasori."
And like Kia-Nian, his eyes bloomed into flowers as a similar being came into formation.
Both beings looked at one another in confusion, before working together to send life and wood energies into Rentaro.
During this entire ordeal, the others were fighting desperately with their lives on the line.
"Tsyun!" Quint shouted, "Shoot a signal into the sky! We need to let the others know!"
With dexterous motion, Tsyun nocked an arrow along the string, a grey and blue energy infusing into the arrow.
Twang! Fwoosh!
The arrow fired into the sky, exploding into the figure of a huge star!
'Everyone in the village should be able to see it,' They thought hopefully.
Haz, Tsyun, and the others were all at the peak of Foundation Establishment stage 4, while Quint was at Core Formation Stage 1. Likewise, Roy was at Elemental Affinity stage 4, and Kyon Establishment Stage 5.
Quint quickly devised a plan—he would take on Edalas.
The others would focus on the surrounding beasts, staying alert for possible sneak attacks.
Roy and Kyon were both ready to fight as well. Kyon no longer was in the joking mood, the turbulence of the wind roiling all around him.
Roy's four eyes were molten, his body igniting with flames that singed the nearby vegetation. Being not even a week old, he lost all reason after seeing Rentaro's state, unable to hear Wilhelm's desperate pleas to control himself.
With a loud roar, Roy's body shined, his scales varying in red, purple, gold, and cyan! The elements around him shook even the earth as they clashed, becoming more and more unstable.
Unleashing another beastly roar, even more primal than before, the raw elements shot forward in all different directions. Various corpse soldiers were torn apart and split in half—yet they continued to crawl with dull eyes, even as their entrails hung loosely behind.
Kyon shot forward a storm of wind, forming into a tornado of blades! Even the heaviest of beast, such as the Ten-Stone Grizzly and the Horned-Wolf, were forcefully sucked in before they were blended to shreds!
Various liquids, toxins, and black blood flowed across the solid ground, forming into a small stream.
Pulsating with the lightning affinity of their clan, Ichi bashed a beast with his shield, and Phu beheaded it, followed by a bisection down the middle.
It wriggled in a vain attempt to regenerate, their lightning raining down upon its remains as it twitched violently.
Phu wiped his brow, "The energy consumption is too much."
"After eliminating the first batch, I'm not sure how long I can hold on." Ichi added exasperatedly.
Similarly, Haz and Shin worked together to take down a few beasts. depleting their energy.
Fwoosh! Fwoosh!
Arrows flew past the duo, quickly multiplying from just one arrow to twelve!
The arrows pierced in one direction, yet the duo saw nothing there.
"GRAH!"
A loud groan followed, and from nothing appeared a frog, large in stature.
Tsyun's gaze sharpened, "Found you!"
His hands moved rapidly, grasping three arrows as he fired them forth!
The frog shot its tongue out in a vain attempt to swat the arrows, which only multiplied once again—this time into twenty arrows brimming with lightning energies.
Despite managing to swat several, its tongue roasted in the process, the others clashed with its body resulting in huge explosions.
BANG! BANG! BOOM!
Dirt was shot up in a cloud, clearing with the wind to reveal that the upper half of the frog has burst into a fountain of blood. The inner intestines wriggled, attempting to reproduce the cells of its upper body.
"Tch. Just die already!" Tsyun yelled out, but before he could fire another arrow, he felt faint... All of his energy was used up.
"GRAW!" Roy's roar assaulted everyone's ears, his body exploding in fire.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" He screeched out at the frog, his child-like innocence gone.
The nearby corpse soldiers turned to dust, and even Roy's scales started to melt from heat, while the air twisted in on itself in a haze.
From his mouth fired a burst of fire, one which burned even his own insides, towards the frog—it was immediately erased.
Roy screamed out in pain, losing control as his internal energy crashed through his entire body.
[ROY!] Wilhelm screamed, sending all of his thoughts directly into Roy's mind, [SHOOT ALL OF YOUR ENERGY OUT! NOW!]
No matter how much he yelled, Wilhelm couldn't get through to him.
When all seemed out of hope, a voice weakly echoed in Roy's mind, 'Roy, stop.'
Roy shuddered, the tears instantly evaporating from his eyes before they could fall. His frozen body turned around to look at Rentaro.
'Roy, please, listen to Wilhelm—now!' Rentaro begged.
Wilhelm sighed in relief, before repeating in worry, [Shoot all of your energy out! All of it!]
All of the energy within his body immediately shot out, and it felt like even space itself could tear under their raging clashes!
Kia-Nian quickly utilized his energy to shield Rentaro's weakened body, and the storm gradually came to a standstill.
