42 Bliss in Misery

Josh spent almost fifteen minutes in the shower before reappearing behind Diane with a towel wrapped around his waist. She was in the same position he'd left her with her back to him so he decided to put on some shorts first to avoid making the atmosphere uncomfortable.

"Do you want to talk about your day?". He queried before moving to sit beside her.

She slowly shook her head and it worried him- not the fact that she wasn't saying anything, but that he'd never seen Diane look so depressed.

His arms wrapped around her shoulders in comfort. "I don't like seeing you this way". He said softly in her ear. "Don't be embarrassed to ask me for anything you desire, I'll fulfill any request you make... Diane".

She remained silent.

"Is there a problem at work?".

She nodded before sniffling. "I got fired and blacklisted for refusing to sell my body".
