The Strongest Vampire Returns

A mysterious particle arrived on Earth. Scientists didn't know what it was, but they called it Mana. This Mana particle was just the beginning of the catastrophe. Strange buildings appeared all over the globe, and a horde of monsters came out of it. Humans called these places dungeons, and a new era began on Earth, an era of Runners. Runners' only purpose was to explore these dungeons, trying to find out what caused them, and how to stop the horde of monsters to take over the Earth. The particle they called mana had provided mutations on humans, based on their genetics. Every individual acquired abilities based on the cells in their body. These abilities gave humanity a chance of fighting back the horde of monsters, and a way to explore the dungeons. One dungeon, in particular, had a youth lying down in a coffin. The name of the youth was Mikael, and he was a vampire. Humans thought vampires were only a tale, but Mikael was there to prove them wrong. He had slept in that coffin for thousands of years, and now some silly Runner had awakened him. Mikael found himself on an Earth he didn't know a thing, alongside monsters who could danger his very existence. Follow Mikael's journey as he learns more about this new era, and uses strange powers gifted by the mana.

Mikael leaped through the window, climbing to the top of one of the academy buildings. The night's darkness coupled with his natural stealth made his presence unnoticed by the students.

The place was filled with easy preys. Everyone was so focused on the entrance test that they wouldn't notice someone with a bite on the neck.

"Are you excited about the test?" Two girls were talking to each other in a dark alley.

"Of course I am. I've practicing my abilities every day for hours and hours. My family had done everything they could to help me develop into the person I am today. I'm not gonna let them down," the girl replied.

Mikael watched them from above the building, waiting for the best moment to strike. And that moment came not long after. The two girls parted ways as they didn't sleep in the same room. Mikael picked one of the girls and attacked, jumping from the building.

"Who's there?" the girl said, creating a Fireball with her hand. She didn't want to act scary, but that situation was indeed a strange one.

She looked in every direction, hoping to get a glimpse on whoever was stalking her, but she didn't have a night vision like Mikael.

"Fire, I hate fire," thought Mikael, sneaking behind her. He tapped her mouth with his hand, and two fangs entered her neck. Mikael's saliva had a paralyzing effect, and she couldn't resist to it. He drank her non stop as his hunger was almost unbearable. He wasn't dumb though, so he kept her alive.

"You'll forget everything that happened here. And make sure to hide that bite mark," he said, using his unique mind skill. No one had ever resisted his mind powers, but humans now were somewhat mutated, so who knows. Mikael hoped that it worked.

He left the crime scene, but little did he know that a drop of blood laid down, in the corner of the dark alley.

Mikael had left the shower turned on so that Evelyn and Nicolas wouldn't find it suspicious. His attack didn't take long, only about four minutes since he jumped out of the window, so they assumed he was just taking a shower. He leaped inside, and took a quick shower, for real this time.

"So, how's the test anyway?" asked Mikael, using a towel to dry his hair.

"We can't tell you, sorry. Everyone is forbidden to talk about the test to others. The only thing we can say is that, you'll have to use your ability to pass it.

Mikael frowned. He didn't have an ability like humans, at least he wasn't ware of it yet. He also didn't know if they needed an ability to defeat something or they would precisely test your ability, and if you didn't have one, you wouldn't pass.

The only thing Mikael could do was to wait until the test started. Losing his head about that matter would only make things worse.

Mikael and his new friends talked for a while before going to bed. He was eager to enter the academy and get some missions outside of it, that way he could return to his nightly routine.

"GOOOOODD MORNING EVERYONE!" someone yelled from the corridor. That person was responsible of waking all of the students. He used a bell to make sure everyone listened. All of the students want to punch that guy on the face. The only reason they didn't do that was because the man was too strong for them...

Mikael was the first of the trio to wake up. He was already half awakened in the first place. Normal vampire couldn't sleep at night time, Mikael could do that because he was the strongest of his species, or at least he was the strongest. He had barely waken up for his slumber, it would take him some time to get back to his peak power.

"We will have to go to class. You can stay here or go outside to train, Mikael," Evelyn said.

"The entrance test will only happen tomorrow, so you should prepare yourself," Nicolas said.

"Okay, I appreciate all the help you're giving me,"

"It's nothing, don't worry about it," they waved at him and left the dorm, leaving Mikael alone.

He didn't know what to do. Everyone else was training their abilities for the test, but he didn't have one to train. He decided to visit the library and look for information regarding this strange abilities, and also about vampires. Mikael felt that it was strange no vampires existed. In his time Earth had plenty of them.

"Could they lose against humans? It's hard to tell. I don't see a reason to why us vampires can't use the mana the same way humans do," Mikael was hoping to find some information about that. He wanted special abilities, not that he needed them as he was already badass, but the world was now unknown to him. Maybe there are hidden creatures that could kick his ass, and he didn't want to die.

A huge building entered his sight, and a man stood guard at the entrance. The building was made of pure marble, resembling greek architecture.

"ID please," the guard said after seeing Mikael. The library was only to students of the academy, so it should be a place inaccessible to Mikael. But his mind magic did wonders again, and he passed the guard easily.

"I love this power so much," he thought.

Endless bookshelves awaited Mikael. He was surprise to see many students early in the morning already studying. It was a good thing that the academy had a huge number of students, so they didn't notice Mikael's presence at all.

Everything was separated in categories. Mikael first went to the section that talked about mana. It was by far the subject with the most number of books. Mikael's memory was far above the humans, so he read books like a madman. Some students noticed his strange behavior, and wondered who was that crazy guy.

Hours passed in a blink of an eye. Mikael learned everything about mana that the library could offer him. And now he was certain that the mana could mutate him as well. It was only a matter of time before his unique powers appeared.

He also read some books about creatures, as he was looking for informations about vampires. He didn't find any.

"Something is amiss, but I can't exactly tell what it is," he thought, walking slowly towards the exit of the library.

When he thought that nothing could get worse, a woman came in his direction. She was using a red dress, giving her a sexy appearance. Her boobs were as big as mountains, and her nipples looked like they wanted to escape that dress.

"Excuse me. Are you new around here?" she asked Mikael.

For a moment he got lost looking at her body, and his imagination ran wild.

"Uh, sorry. What did you say?" he said, and she just giggled after hearing that.

"You're a strange guy aren't you," she covered her mouth, laughing.

"Maybe," Mikael wanted to start a conversation with her, just when someone ran inside the library, yelling.

"Help, someone, help!" a girl who was bleeding started to yell inside of the library. Mikael looked to see if it was not the girl he had attacked last night, and lucky for him, it wasn't. But the wound the girl had made Mikael's legs shake...

"Am I seeing things? There's no way that's real," his mind was spinning with strange thoughts. He was looking for that information just now in the library, which had been a failure.
