Chapter 197: Meeting Disciples

"When? I arrived about the same time as you guys," 

Asahi said with a smile to Kushina. He quickly got used to Kushina's affectionate behavior since they were like a family, so there wasn't any awkwardness. 

Minato, who had snapped out of it, also greeted Asahi. Asahi smiled at Minato and didn't say much. 

"Oh, I see. I heard from Minato that you, Master, were training in Roran. Did you make any gains?" 

Kushina asked, not surprised that Asahi had been here without her noticing. She was just curious.

In Kushina's mind, Asahi was already part of the formidable person, and with Kurama instigating, Asahi strength must really strong. 

So, not being able to notice him was normal; what was there to be puzzled about?

"Yeah, I gained quite a bit this time. But speaking of which, weren't you on the Hidden Mist battlefield? How did you end up on this side of the Earth Country, and why are you working on a mission with Minato?" 

Asahi nodded slightly and then asked with some confusion.

"Oh, you know, the Hidden Mist side was taken over by the Uchiha clan. If I were still there, my combat power would be a bit excessive." 

"Coincidentally, the Iwa side sent out many Elites, so third Hokage arranged for me to be sent to the Iwa battlefield. This time, there's also an important mission."

"The village was worried about any mistakes if it was just Minato, so they assigned me to go with him."

Kushina explained, and Minato, on the side, nodded in agreement. 

"I see. Aren't you going to execute your mission now?" Asahi asked, a bit surprised after hearing the explanation from Kushina and Minato.

"Oh, it's okay. Obito and Kurenai are strong enough. Plus, Kakashi is there; nothing unexpected should happen for a while." 

Hearing this, Minato's expression was somewhat helpless. 

It's not that he didn't want to act quickly, but the problem was, he couldn't just leave Kushina alone and rush back by himself.

He was sure that if he did that, the outcome would be... well, hehe, let's not talk about it, it would be quite miserable. 

So, in this situation, he could only endure a bit and rely on his subordinates. After all, they could manage for a while. But, Minato did agree with Kushina's words.

This time, his team and Kushina's team were all deployed. Even the weakest member, Rin Nohara, had the strength of a Chunin, while Kakashi, Obito, and Kurenai had stable Jounin-level abilities. 

Although Obito and Kurenai couldn't be promoted due to a lack of missions, their strength was not affected.

With a team of three Jounin, if they couldn't even handle an infiltration, Minato would need to consider giving them more training.

Of course, Asahi looked helplessly at Kushina, who seemed indifferent. Although he couldn't be considered a ninja, he respected the ninja code. 

However, Kushina, with her carefree attitude, seemed to have a surprisingly large heart for such crucial wartime tasks.

Nevertheless, Asahi found some comfort in Kushina's behavior. At least, his efforts were rewarded. 

Just Kushina's affectionate attitude towards him was sufficient. However, despite feeling gratified, Asahi didn't plan to waste too much of their time.

He didn't want to be the reason they failed their mission or encountered any unforeseen circumstances. 

"Alright, Kushina, since you still have a mission, go on and don't waste time," 

Asahi said, shaking his head at Kushina. She nodded in understanding, realizing there wasn't much time to spare.

The mission at hand was crucial and required swift action. Otherwise, Konoha wouldn't have assigned both Minato and Asahi to execute it together. 

Despite not having seen Asahi for a long time and feeling confident in her team, Kushina knew the importance of prioritizing the mission.

"Alright, Master, we'll go on with the mission. If everything goes smoothly, the Iwa war should be over soon," 

Kushina said with a hint of disappointment. However, her eyes flickered with a new idea. 

"By the way, Master, do you want to go see Kurenai and Obito? It's been years since they saw you, and they miss you. Plus, you can assess their progress in strength."

Kushina continued with her proposal, which was indeed a good reason. 

If Asahi agreed, not only could they spend more time together, but it would also provide an extra layer of assurance for her plans. 

After all, she was Asahi's disciple, and even though Asahi rarely intervened in ninja conflicts, if her team encountered trouble, he would undoubtedly lend a hand.

"Sure, let's go. I am curious to see how Obito and Kurenai have grown over the years," 

Asahi nodded, silently contemplating his thoughts. 

In truth, over the years, he couldn't pretend not to care about the growth of his disciples, especially Obito and Kurenai, whom he hadn't seen in a long time.

Previously, he had suppressed these thoughts because he didn't want to actively seek them out. 

However, now that they had met by chance, Asahi decided it was a good opportunity to see how they had progressed. 

So, in response to Kushina's inquiry, Asahi smiled and agreed to the proposal.

"Well, that's good. I'm really curious to see how far Kakashi and Rin have come," Asahi said, nodding. 

Seeing Asahi's agreement, Kushina's face lit up with joy. Minato, standing on the side, didn't say much. 

Although Kushina's invitation for Asahi to join their mission was somewhat irregular. 

Minato trusted Asahi's character and knew that information leakage was not a concern.

After all, they were all Asahi's disciples, and Asahi wouldn't let his own disciples fall into a trap. 

With the matter settled, Kushina, Asahi, and Minato prepared to head off to complete their respective tasks.
