9 Proving Themselves

It was now time for Ava, Gus, and James to prepare to fight against an orc, but they seemed stressed about what could happen. That's why they decided to talk to Aiden a bit to see if he would change his mind.

"Humm... Aiden, I know what we did to you at the start wasn't smart of us. But please reconsider. You know...I'm a tank. Fighting against an orc by myself is impossible. That's why I didn't kill many beasts. I know you can't relate since you don't have class, but we're different from you. I'm begging you, please reconsider!" Gus said, pleading to Aiden to reconsider the proposal.

"It's the same for me. I'm just an assassin; I need someone to distract those Orcs. Is it possible for me and that dwarf to fight against an orc together? It would give us a better chance for us to survive, and then we could help you. What do you say?" James said, trying to let Aiden fight the orc in a team of two.

Aiden only scuffed in his mind, as he really couldn't care what would happen to the two of them. They had abandoned him...

So why would he pity them?

Gus and James were looking at Aiden with fearful eyes because depending on his choice. Their fate would be decided.

"No, you will all fight alone. Just like I've been doing until now," Aiden smiled, making them remember their past actions.

"Even if you guys are in danger or are close to dying, I won't intervene; you will simply have to do the first trial once again."

Having no other choice but to listen to him, the three of them separated themselves and went to fight an orc to fight against.

After a few minutes of trying to find the orcs, they spotted three lone orcs that weren't particularly paying attention to their surroundings.

Those orcs were the perfect targets.

Going up to the orc, they were not as discreet as Aiden. The dwarf was making a lot of noise because of his armor, which made some metal sounds while moving. This sound caused the orc to turn around and see the dwarf.

The dwarf didn't know what he was going to do to beat an Orc since he only had a shield at the moment. But he didn't give up as he started bashing it against the orc's body, which had little effect. Nonetheless, he didn't give up.

James, being an assassin, had the advantage in this as he excelled in one versus one. So, he carefully moved toward the orc in front of him, not wanting to give information about his position, and simply hit him.

The movements that James was executing were all seen by Aiden since he was used to seeing those types of moves, and he had to say that James wasn't that good at them. He seemed to be relying on an active skill to move without making a sound, which wasn't the case for Aiden, who had his footwork imprinted in him for a long time.

James had the dagger that he had brought from the original world, Nova. But it was known that on the first trial, you could only bring weapons and equipment that weren't ranked by the system. That meant that the weapon he had brought wasn't great but was probably only as good as the dull knife Aiden used at the start of the trial, well... maybe a little better.

He winded up an attack wanting to slice the neck of the orc in a single strike, and it worked!

A couple of seconds later, the orc disappeared, which caused James to receive a message about his achievement.

Gus, who had kept bashing his shield against the orc's body, slowly started to win as he could see more and more blood appear on his shield. Then, his orc also disappeared.

"I leveled up, finally!" Gus exclaimed. It seemed he hadn't received less experience because he was always tanking the monsters.

It seemed the system still counted his participation in the elimination of the monster, which was a good thing because, as he had said earlier. He wasn't the one dealing the damage. That's why he relied on others.

Coming out of the hidden building, Aiden was pleasantly surprised to see the skill which the both of them had and he thought that they could probably be useful later when they would have to fight against the boss monster.

Now, the only one left was Ava, who didn't have a single spell to actually damage the Orc as she needed to rely on.

Normally, she would depend on the man who was attracted to her beauty, but this time, it seemed that it wasn't going to be possible.

Aiden, who was looking at her struggle, couldn't help but crack a smile, liking the fact that she had difficulty.

However, something unexpected happened as the Orc started to hit his own body, hurting itself for no actual reason. Then, it also died, completely disappearing.

Ava turned around and flashed a beautiful smile toward Aiden as she exclaimed, "See? You didn't need to test me."

Aiden could only shake his head seeing this. He would be killing those guys either way, but since they had survived. He might as well use them for a while.

Ava started approaching Aiden with a beautiful smile on her face with her two minions right behind her.

It seemed like they were all proud of what they had just done. However, Aiden made sure they knew that he wasn't impressed whatsoever.

"Well, that was only the first step. Now we'll need to kill the rest of them. Ava, come with me. You two try to kill the rest of them," Aiden mentioned, as he didn't even want to hear about any complaints from them.

As both Ava and Aiden started to move further away in search of Orcs, Ava thought that this was the perfect opportunity to seduce Aiden.

Using her features, she approached him once again, looking him in the eyes in a way that made Aiden difficult to refuse her. Her biggest features were starting to bounce with each step she took. Her melons even brushed against Aiden's arm. However, Aiden didn't have the slightest reaction.

"Hey, uh... Aiden. Did you lie to us at the start? Do you really have no class?" Ava asked as she touched the muscles on Aiden's body.

"Yeah, I don't have one. Now, could you let me go?" Aiden said with a fake smile starting to be annoyed with her behavior. She was used to getting what she wanted, and it started to piss off Aiden.

"But then...how are you so strong? What family are you part of?"

Aiden remembered what he saw on his status panel and told her the last name that was written there.

He didn't think it was a big deal. It was just a last name. It wasn't like it was some major information that he needed to keep hidden...right?

"The Nightshades," Aiden said as he got away from her clutches.

"T-The Nightshades?!" Ava exclaimed. 'I knew he wasn't normal...everything is starting to make sense now.'

After asking that question, Ava became completely silent, keeping her distance from Aiden. It seemed his last name caused Ava to be scared because everytime Aiden would ask a question, she would try her best to respond.

Aiden noticed this change and smiled. 'She learned who's the boss around here.'
