Fighting Bolin And The Wolves

Yun Tian wasn't sure of the level of the Fleeting Steps skill now. It was certainly better than any other low spirit grade skills with the level he had reached with it, but he wasn't sure whether it would beat out a mid grade one or not.

He started to train in the Wolf's lightning skill to get a feel for each of the forms. With his experience and talent he quickly reached mastering form with the skill.

The forms described in the skill were different than anything he had seen so far. While performing them, it looked like he was trying to imitate an animal that made extremely erratic movements. To the naked eye, he looked extremely clumsy though. At the end he thought, 'It seems I need to reach at least grasping spirit to truly display this skill's abilities.'

With other skills, they had at least some use in the mastering form stage, but with this one you were extremely clumsy with only the movements.

After he reached mastering form, he was ready to continue with the next step. Reaching mastering form was the easiest part of training a skill though.

Since he reached mastering form, he would now have to comprehend the spirit of the skill and display the same intent as the creator had when using the skill. After all, the forms were just a way to help you display the skill. It was this part that really mattered and was difficult. Reaching this stage would let him display the skill to the greatest extent he could.

Yun Tian thought about what was written in the manual and spent a few minutes performing the technique while trying to gain some comprehension and reach grasping spirit.

After a few minutes spent doing this, he looked at the wolves still cultivating and had an idea.

He was training his skills with the others still cultivating around him.

He called out, "Hey, can you guys come help me out for a while."

Immediately, they stopped cultivating and came over, including Shen Yu. The wolves looked curious as they crowded around him, as it didn't seem like he wanted to go hunting. They wondered what he could want help with.

Once they came over Yun Tian asked them, "Can you guys fight with me for a while? I want to try comprehending a skill with your guys' help. Don't hold back and give it your all. I can take it all no problem. The better you do, the more help you are to me. Also, Don't worry about getting hurt. I will hold back and will make sure not to hurt you."

This was Yun Tian's idea. The three ways he had learnt to train skills through were long amounts of time practicing, learning from example, and being pushed through life and death situations.

He had quickly learned many of the skills he knew through the last two and he wanted to use the same tactic to help with his training now. What better example than to use the wolves right in front of him.

Hearing this the wolves' readily volunteered as they were happy to be of help. Bolin especially, he had greatly grown in strength lately and couldn't wait to test himself.

Shen Yu noticed everything happening and moved to the side and watched on to see things play out. She was interested to see how things played out. She knew that Yun Tian would be fine as his strength was just too great for the wolves at the moment.

What she was looking forward to was to see how greatly the wolves had grown and if Yun Tian could comprehend his skill.

Yun Tian said, "Go ahead," and the wolves immediately started to circle around him. They were very much used to group battles and if they wanted a chance, they would have to use their numbers to try and put Yun Tian at a disadvantage.

Yun Tian studied their movements as they circled around him and tried to comprehend something from them. He gained some comprehension, but he felt it wasn't enough.

He shouted, "Go on, attack!"

The wolves answered his call. Instead of all of them though, Bolin couldn't hold himself back in the end and howled to say he would go alone.

He charged toward Yun Tian and attempted to slash at him with his claws. Yun Tian felt no need to go all out so he just used the Wolf's Lightning skill and dodged to the side, easily avoiding him even with his clumsy movement.

While he may not have especially high comprehension of the skill yet, his strength was much higher than Bolin's.

Bolin saw Yun Tian move to his side with movements that seemed almost similar to his own even if he was only using two feet. Besides that, there was great speed when he moved.

Yun Tian then said, "All at once, come on."

Bolin knew Yun Tian was right. Also, he knew that Yun Tian wasn't even using his best techniques and yet was able to dodge him easily. He felt upset and howled for the other wolves to join him circling around Yun Tian once more.

Then they started to weave and attack him from different angles at the same time. Their movements became erratic and almost unpredictable. They used the force of their whole bodies and all four legs to propel themselves in the directions they wanted.

Yun Tian dodged some of their attacks, but was forced to block others since he was only using the Wolf's Lightning skill for dodging.

He had some comprehension of the skill and great speed, but the wolves were also great when working together. Even if they couldn't actually harm him he wasn't able to dodge all their attacks.

He watched each of their movements as the battle went on and tried to learn the secrets of their movements through them.

As time went by, he slowly gained insight into how they moved.

This process wasn't exactly quick, but that was only by Yun Tian's standards. For others, understanding the movement of a completely different species and implementing those concepts for themselves would take a very long time, if they could do it at all.
