Bandit Leader

It was warm.

She looked up to see a bright blue sky and clouds before looking down to see a quaint town. But in an instant, a storm came in and light struck every corner, turning the beautiful view into a wasteland. Confused, she looked around and saw Violet and Aron together. She is holding on to her son's arm and he looked at her with apprehension.

"You took my life from me. Do you not feel any remorse?" Violet cried out.

Amy sneered at Violet, having enough. "You finally decided to talk to me?" She walked up to her, returning her glare. "I am living your life, so what? I didn't make this up. You didn't work for it like I did. Your jealousy is obvious. Not even a child is as blind or idiotic as you. You let yourself be sheltered, you let yourself be captured and killed. You are the reason why your son ended up suffering like this. After I finish my mission, you can take your body back and see the difference. Don't think you expect your life to be better just because you retake your life. You will ruin it and I will be ready to see it crumble."

The scenery disappeared leaving her incredibly bitter. She had already known that everything is fake and living in the past for those three months taught her so much. She didn't need a constant reminder of that.

Yet, she cannot stop this looming feeling.

Suddenly, the ground shook.

*

Amy woke up to turbulence which turned violent. Covering her head with her arms, the carriage topside and Amy ended up falling on the broken glass.

"Shit! Anna!" She saw Anna with a bruised forehead, and she opened her eyes slowly until she froze as she noticed Amy's sitting on broken glass.

"I'm fine." Amy wiped herself of the glass, uninjured though dizzy then heard a commotion and sounds of fighting. She climbed up to see a fight between the knights and bandits.

Ah, that's right. Boris did say that there is a bandit problem. They probably thought she is an extremely rich noble. But... she looked around to see that this is unusually large for a bandit ambush. Did they expect her to take this route?

"Get down!" Anna pulled her down.

Amy cursed under her breath. She doesn't have any weapons on her since she got Temporal Disease out of fear that she would accidentally hurt herself with it.

"What the hell is going on?" Alabaster yelled.

Bandits Amy replied.

"Bandits?!" Boris shrieked, "I'm already in Fiore and you still haven't got here yet. No wonder."

Amy looked at the broken glass and gathered as many as she could much to Anna's fear and initial protest but stopped when she saw Amy turn the glass in her hands into a small dagger without so much as fear.

Then someone suddenly came in from the top, scaring them until she realized it is one of the guards.

"Stay here, my lady! There are too many of them out there!" She then saw the poor man being dragged out then after a couple of seconds, the top side of the topsided carriage burst opened in an instant.

The bandits won.

"There it is. A little girl around the right age."

Amy could feel that Boris and Alabaster are doing what they could to help her out of the situation. Boris notified the retired Count and Alabaster is notifying the royal guard as they speak.

Anna tried to shield her, but Amy shook her head and grabbed her arm. This isn't a battle they can fight and win against.

The fight ended almost too quickly.

"How did you..."

"I have a power, little girl." The biggest looking one said. He had a muscular build, covered in battle scars and his hair and beard is long and unusually spiky. That being said, his hair moved on its own and sharpened like kitchen knives. She immediately knew that he is an ability user like her.

"Get out or I'll kill everyone."

Amy looked to see the guards and knights all tied up and gagged and deprived of their armor, cloaks and weapons.

"How much do you think we can sell this for if we melt it?" One of the bandits tried it on and it immediately tightened leaving the guy completely suffocating inside and trying to get it off. Despite the assistance, he succumbed to it in the end.

Rolling his eyes, he yells, "Forget it!" The leader growled, "all this shit is enchanted. It'll kill yer the moment yer put it on. He turned to look at her.

"Well, your ladyship. We're here to escort yer to Royal Palace."

"If you're going to say where you're taking us at least do a better job at lying." Anna mocked him but he ignored her.

"I'm telling the truth but not here." he smirked, and Anna gasped.

Amy examined them, "Are you from Solin?"

"What if we are?" The bandit leader said.

"You are from Getel, aren't you? What does Getel want with me?"

Taking slightly aback, he laughed heartily. "I guess you are a lot smarter than I thought. I thought I was careful on making sure people sure we're from Hekaton or Damat."

To tell the truth, she doesn't know but she saw a hall of fame in Getel in the manga and his face was on a portrait that Aron and his friends just happened to walk by.

"Well, you did a terrible job. Damat is charitable to its people and Hekaton prioritizes cleanliness. You don't look like you're needy enough and you are definitely not following personal hygiene. If you are Solinean then I would know any ability user here, You would've been arrested by Solin long before you make any rash moves." Amy said.

"Ooooh, it looks like we got a smart one here." The leader leaned in close to her and picked her up by the scruff like a kitten.

"I admit yer are right but that doesn't matter because yer heading to Getel. Yer have no idea the kind of money we're paid to take you there. What are you, a princess?"

Amy didn't answer.

"Well, we're told to kidnap a little girl but if we're kidnapping a princess, they would have to increase the pay." He said and the two of them were shoved onto a wagon.

"Let's go and grab their valuables."

The bandits all grabbed any valuable item. Amy rolled her eyes. The only valuable she took with her is the fur she wrapped herself in which was snatched from the carriage by one guy and the only ones left behind are the cursed armor and weapons that attack anyone who is not an appointed guard or knight.
