The King's Wish

'I feel a bit tired, can we talk about other matters tomorrow',asked the fairy feeling a little blue ,as it had used most of its mana.

'Thank you once again Mr.Fischer! See you tomorrow ',replied the king in a deep voice with a voice full of reverence for the fairy.

Jacob wanted to discuss something with the fairy ,and the king together, but seeing the situation he let it be ,as he knew it was not good to talk about important decisions in a rush.

Jacob slowly walked towards the king, and stood near him, watching everything going around him.

The King silently stood for sometime,

"You should spend some time with your mom Jacob she is so worried about you",said the King while enjoying the gentle breeze coming from the newly created spring.

Around eighty soldiers were working in the side while James commanded them effectively to throw the debris away ,and plant some seeds the fairy gave.

"Sure ,dad I'll ",said Jacob with a slight smile.

The King felt pride ,and happiness in his heart ,as he saw the deeds his sons did, they had solved an existential crisis for their Kingdom ,and saved the lives of thousands of people.

This is just the start ,if they are given enough time to build ,they can build an whole new kingdom, but will they be given time?

"Jacob , Minister Hughes advises us to open our Kingdom , so that we don't face any adversaries from other kingdoms, but you wanted every gates to be closed, and no one enters or leaves ,what are you planning on doing?

The kingdom was in a very desperate state ,and I didn't think it out when I asked you about your plan.

Because all I had in my mind was saving our Kingdom ,and after the stunt you pulled searching the ruins , for a second I doubted I lost both my son ,and my Kingdom",said Henry in a sad voice as it had been bugging him in the corner of his heart.

Along with the treaty that I read in the treasury , I also happened to read the import report of all the imported goods which came inside our kingdom.

I calculated all the imported goods ,and I found that if they are rationalised properly among the people , they can be used for 1 month or more , it will be enough to feed the people ,and the

The crops of watermelon , wheat ,barley ,and rice the farmers planted will be harvested in half a month in different farms according to the cycle ,and the next set will be planted ,

And this time we have water which we can use freely.

We will have our stock replenished ,and we would also have plenty to last us till the next harvest ,and instead of trading it outside ,we are going to make the people trade within themselves.

So this will slowly boost our people's morale ,and help them out.

In the mean time we can use all our soldiers along with some masons to help people rebuild their homes ,and other buildings.

We can create some trade centers around the kingdom to help the people exchange their goods or services for money.

Next we can also charge the people a small amount to use the freeze storage room.

I know it was not done before , but if we don't charge something in times like these it will be hard for us to maintain our Kingdom.

If we are left to ourselves without any disturbance for atleast six months , I am sure our Kingdom's economy ,and living conditions can grow , and only after that we can open our Kingdom to others.

If at all there is any war or something like that I am sure it will take around two months for the other two Kingdoms to prepare for the war.

But according to the treaty they signed ,they can only attack us after proper negotiations.

So it would take some time ,and if we manage ourselves for six months , we will have a lot of advantages even in the war.

I am sure after using soldiers to help the people ,some youngsters ,and people in general will be attracted to get themselves drafted into army.

During this time we can also do some research in the liquid black , I am sure it has lot of value , we can even get to use them effectively in war as we don't have to trade with other kingdoms for some time."replied Jacob explaining everything ,

he still had some more things to say but he thought it would be better if it was said the day after his plan was discussed with the ministers ,and advisors.

It was better to have a group having experience in politics ,and economy find out flaws in a Kingdom changing plan, as fixing a Kingdom is not a one man job.

"Dad , do you remember the pipes that I asked the blacksmith to make, it is to supply water from here to all homes in our Kingdom, I am sure the spring will grow up in two or three days , within this period if we set up tanks ,and the pipes we can store water ,and sent them to the people directly.

But we should have some sort of regulation , if we give people too much water suddenly it may make them use or rely on it too much ,and we can't afford to waste water.

So we must find a way to charge them or fine them if they use too much....giving too much for free can turn even a poor man into a rich spendthrift ,and I don't want our Kingdom to be like that."said Jacob again expressing his ideas ,and concerns.

"We must grow in quantity ,and quality ,slowly but steadily, like you said ,and that is also my wish , Let's discuss this tomorrow with everyone ",replied the King as he didn't want to dishearten his son, and made his way towards the palace but the idea of Jacob had a lot of flaws in it , even though it was theoretically possible ,practically it was not , and the other Kingdoms won't let them grow for six months.
