Learning magic: beast style (1)

System note on :Difference between beast core ,and other cores.

Magic cores are of different structures. Wild beasts have a very crude type of magic core ,as they don't know how to refine them ,but if a creature attains sentience and is capable of showing high intelligence they refine their core ,and become the strongest.

Different species use different contracts or circles around their core to draw out magic , a contract is like a language which the mana core accepts to release an output(spell).

Refining the core is a process of structuring the core and compressing it, so that they can efficiently support mana or magic for casting. A magic circle is often used to contract or conjure magic out of anything , including the core. Different beings have different structures of cores but none of the cores are as crude as the wild beasts core.

Magic circles are of two types. They can be used internally (imagined around your core with your mind) and used to make a spell or it can be drawn externally to make the source of mana the environment or anything containing mana.

Wild beasts who are able to use mana do it differently than other living things , they tend to do magic by their instincts , will or desire , they draw out magic by understanding nature ,and create a bond with their mana core in such a way that they can understand it and draw out magic from it without a magic circle or contract.

Wild beasts living in certain environments from their birth , they tend to learn the nature of their environment ,and develop certain instincts towards it or inherit them .

Most of the wild beasts are only capable of one type of magic ,but there are always some exceptions.

The more it understands the nature of its magic the more strong it becomes.

An cornered beast is the strongest so you should never underestimate it.

"You said that you killed scorizers by creating a mana burst , do know how you did it?", the fairy asked so that he could figure out how much Jacob knew to control his mana.

Jacob quickly explained everything he did not leaving out a single part, he even explained how he felt when the mana was expelled out of his body , he only skipped the part about the system helping him.

"Sitting down and meditating in the middle of the battle field , you are either brave or very stupid",the fairy said without looking at Jacob figuring out a way to teach Jacob in his mind.

Jacob on the other hand was perplexed ,and felt a little ashamed hearing the fairy's comment ,He kept quiet and observed the fairy waiting for his teachings.

"Ok ,I think this method would be suitable for you...",the fairy waved his fingers a small earth a seat like structure came out of the ground,

"Now sit on it ,and do what you did the other day",said the fairy.

Jacob immediately sat on the seat ,and started meditating to gather mana.

"Interesting Kid, your mana gathering is pretty quick ,I can feel your core getting filled up...Now do what you did the other day",the fairy placed his hands on Jacob's back and started to pass some of his mana to understand what was happening in Jacob's body.

<<sensory magic detected>>

"Now stop!",shouted the fairy realising Jacob was about to unleash his mana,Jacob immediately stopped what he was doing.

"You got innate talent my boy , if I am sure you used mana burst, mana shield ,and mana shock that day ,and you don't have any knowledge about it ,but this shows how you should use your magic."

Jacob remembered the name of the skills which he saw on the system when he had killed the scorizers.

"So I have to do the skill for it to get registered in my system , I don't simply get it by recieving XP , but what about the first day when mana was unlocked for me....",Jacob was deep in his thoughts.

"The system unlocked your beast core by passing in the amount of mana required to open your core",the sage said in a low voice inside Jacob's head so as to not disrupt the development.

"Usually I think your core should have been unlocked by using a ritual , as you had not done the ritual it should not have been activated , but as you went through the ruins something similar to the ritual happened which must have unlocked your beast core... but it is just a theory ,anyways now you can use magic that's all that matters...",scrutinizing Jacob and thoroughly checking him, the fairy was taking a small parchment ,and writing down some things.

"Can you try using a magic circle to conjure any spells",said the fairy.

"Why is he acting like a doctor , checking me up , diagnosing me , when will he teach me stuff ",thought Jacob but he quickly obeyed the fairy.

Jacob immediately remembered a spell which he had learnt from the memories in the dairy, which didn't work out that day. But he remembered the magic circle required for drawing out the mana for the spell ,and making it come alive.

He quickly tried what he remembered, but nothing happened ,it was the same as in his memories. He was unable to form the magic circle around his core.

"No, I don't think that way will work, magic contract of any species should not be compatible with this kid..... Ok let's try teaching the casting without magic circles, control by will just like a beast does"

"Kid , What do you understand about magic?",asked the fairy slowly after jotting down some things.

Jacob thought for a while , "It's the expression of energy of nature through mana".

The fairy gave out a small smile, "Everyone has different perceptions about magic , but understanding magic through your perception is the first step in doing the magic like a wild beast.

A wild beast cub observes it's parents from birth, it tries to imitate it's parents ,and at one point it forms a perception of the magic its parents use ,and it understands how to use the same.

While the cub observes its parents ,it also looks towards its core. Then forms a understanding between the core and the perception to draw out its magic through its will.

So this is how you will be learning how to use magic. Do you get what I am trying to say?".

"Yes ,I get it teacher, Please teach me ",said Jacob a little excited at what he heard.
