Chapter 3: Unanticipated Consequences

Two months passed after that night. Evelyn does her activities every day as a model. Her schedule is always busy as she has grown in popularity, she has gotten contracts for various clothing, cosmetics, and even food products as well.

Evelyn had forgotten what happened at the hotel and considered herself not to be pregnant because she thought that having sex would not be able to get her pregnant. Yeah, it's impossible but it could happen if Casper has good semen and Evelyn is very fertile. 

Right now Evelyn is with Vira in the dressing room, because she is going to do a catwalk for a modern fashion exhibition. Vira is also a model. Even though she was married, she deliberately postponed her pregnancy because she still wanted to focus on her career.

Evelyn felt the turmoil in her stomach, she immediately ran to the bathroom and vomited everything she had eaten. Her body staggered and leaned against the bathroom wall.

Evelyn was silent remembering the last time of her period, she immediately reached into her pocket to take out her phone and looked at the calendar there.

"I should have a period, but it was too late," muttered Evelyn after looking at the calendar. 'I was too busy, I didn't realize I was late for my period!'

Vira who waited too long for Evelyn in the bathroom immediately followed her.

"Evelyn. Are you okay?" asked Vira from behind the door.

Evelyn who was daydreaming was shocked and immediately opened the door. She saw Vira waiting at the door anxiously.

"I just want to pee," said Evelyn, looking nervously at Vira. She didn't want anyone to know what the problem was.

"Let's go back to the make-up room, now it's our turn to perform," said Vira.

Evelyn immediately walked to the dressing room with Vira. occasionally Vira noticed Evelyn's face which looked pale.

"Are you sick?" Vira asked, squinting at Evelyn.

"I ... I'm fine, just a little dizzy," replied Evelyn a little nervous. 

This time her head was dizzy, but she was still trying to hold on and do the Catwalk because now was her turn.

Evelyn and Vira lined up behind waiting their turn. She got dizzier until Vira who was in front of her started walking towards the stage. She immediately walked behind Vira. However, her vision was getting blurry, and her steps were now unbalanced, especially now that she was wearing high heels. it made it more difficult for her to balance her steps until she fell and passed out.

The crew immediately took Evelyn backstage and tried to revive her by applying wind oil to her stomach and nose.

Vira who finished the catwalk went straight to Evelyn And looked at her with a worried look.

"Just take her to the doctor," said a manager because Evelyn never regained consciousness.

"Yes, I'll take the bag first," said Vira, and immediately took Evelyn's bag to the locker room. However, after returning, Evelyn came to her senses, looking around also looking at her anxiously.

"If you feel sick, it's better not to force yourself to perform," said Fito, manager of Vira and Evelyn.

"Sorry, I suddenly got dizzy." Evelyn immediately stood up, assisted by Vira.

"I'll take you home. I can't bear to let you go home alone," said Vira looking at Evelyn anxiously.

"Yes," said Evelyn, because she really couldn't go home alone with a headache.

Vira immediately escorted Evelyn to the apartment.

So far, Evelyn has lived in an apartment with her older sister named Shandra. Her sister works as a secretary at a company in Jakarta, while their extended family lives in the city of Batam.

"You didn't stop by?" Evelyn asked Vira after they both got out of the car.

"No, it's too late, David must have been waiting for me," said Vira.

Evelyn nodded in understanding, she understood that her friend now couldn't come home at night because she already had a husband.

"I'm leaving, You should rest after this ... Bye-bye.." Vira said goodbye and immediately returned to her car and drove to her house.

Evelyn walked lazily into her apartment and saw Shandra watching a movie on her laptop while eating snacks on the couch.

"You already home," said Shandra when she realized her sister had come.

"Yes sis, I'm not feeling well," said Evelyn as she walked slowly to her room.

Shandra felt something was wrong with Evelyn. the girl looked unusually excited. but she immediately got rid of her feelings by thinking that her sister was like that because of fatigue.

Evelyn is looking for the little bag she brought to Vira's wedding. she looks for the card of the man who has made love to her. she didn't expect that would need that card.

After finding a small bag from the many bags in her collection, 

She immediately took the card and read it. on it was the man's number name, Casper. She immediately contacted him, and although it was not clear whether she was pregnant or not, she has to make sure the man will take responsibility.

"Hello," said Evelyn in a flat voice.

"Who is this?" Casper asked over the phone.

"I won't mince words. Tomorrow meet me and bring me a pregnancy test. About the place. I'll send the address," said Evelyn in a firm tone and then immediately disconnected her phone.

She told Casper to buy the pregnancy test kits because if she bought them by herself, it would be gossip if anyone found out.

Evelyn felt her stomach which was still slim, it felt like she could not believe that she was pregnant. 

'No, I can't be pregnant!' she thought, Convincing herself.

The next day Evelyn stayed at home and canceled her shooting schedule. She just wanted to confirm the situation as soon as possible, or it would become a burden on her mind over and over

At this time, Evelyn was having breakfast. Shandra looks neat in Gray's women's suit and approaches her about to join breakfast. But when she approached, Evelyn smelled her perfume and she felt the turmoil in her stomach. She ran to the bathroom and vomited everything she had eaten.

Seeing her sister not well, Shandra immediately approached her and massaged the nape of her sister's neck.

"I think you should see a doctor?" said Shandra as she looked worriedly at Evelyn.

"No, Sis. I'm just too tired, after taking the medicine I will recover," said Evelyn with Shandra's reassuring eyes. she also endured the scent of Shandra's perfume which seemed too strong and made her nauseous. Shandra sighed roughly.

"Hmm, okay then ... I will go to work. If there is anything, please contact Arsha," said Shandra. Arsha is her future husband, Arsha always helps her and Evelyn if they are in trouble or sick.

Shandra immediately left Evelyn alone.

After making sure Shandra left, Evelyn immediately sent a message to Casper to come to her apartment. after that, she immediately took a shower while waiting for him.

After one hour of waiting, finally Casper came and immediately handed the pregnancy test kits to Evelyn.

"Wait here for a minute," said Evelyn with a flat gaze as she took the pregnancy test. She rushed to the bathroom to do her test, while Casper was waiting on the couch. 

Evelyn patiently waited for the pregnancy test to function. until a few minutes, she immediately saw the results. Her eyes widened perfectly when she saw that there were two lines on the pregnancy test.
