Hunters Association

The sun crests, another day arrives to the turbulent earth. Three hunters walk through, Jeralds hulking frame pausing as he holds the door. Following Eric stride's in approaching the front desk, followed by Elaine. A young girl draped unconscious across her arm. Her sterling silver hair swaying with each stride, her skin like shimmering Jade.

A murmur pulses through the crowd, Eric slams his fist on the counter. "We successfully closed the gate at Lux Manor. Get us with the guild master!" His commanding tone echoes through the room.

At the light padding of footsteps on the stairs, Eric pauses. "Guild Master..."

"Come on up, you three," a gentle voice responds, standing on top of the stairs with flowing red hair the Scarlet Witch smiles lightly striding back towards her office.

Following and closing the door behind them they take a seat around the small coffee table. "Would you like some tea?" She asks kindly, her gaze lingering on the child in Elaine's embrace for a brief moment.

Elaine gently lays the child on the couch, laying Stella's head on her thigh. A hand resting on her shoulder should she move. "If you'd please, Master."

The Scarlet Witch slowly lays out tea for everyone, taking a seat in a lounge chair. "Let us dispense with the formalities, please."

"Tsk," Eric scoffs lightly, "We didn't make it in time for Lunaria Manor, Valeria. However we did manage to close the gate that opened. This child," he gestures across the table, "Is the sole survivor. The head of the house was found next to her, shot through by an arrow. I would assume this is Stella Lux."

The guild master places her cup back to the plate, "I see, I'm sorry you had to witness that scene. This is a tragic incident and I hope we can react faster the next time this occurs."

"With how few have awakened at this point in time, we are spread much to thin as it is. Yet the gates seem to be increasing in frequency." Elaine replies, "I think we should all focus much more on recruiting personnel and training newcomers."

"That is in fact what I've been trying to do, albeit slowly. There are rumors of freelance awakeners fighting on their own. Some succeed, others well..." Valeria falls silent, closing her eyes. "When the child awakens we will verify her identity. I just hope this loss doesn't break her spirit," she gazes gently at the child.

Jerald stands up stretching out, "It will happen when it happens, her body is going through the awakening process so it is bound to take time. What do we tell the press until then? I'm sure they'll be swarming like roaches soon enough."

"For now we will inform them of nothing but the most base information. We will wait to inform them of the girls suspected identity until we can verify it ourselves." Valeria sighs, standing she lays a hand on Elaine's shoulder. "This work never ends, I swear. You all have done stellar work, I thank you for your service. I need to attend to an official meeting regarding increasing our recruitment range so I must take my leave. Please rest here and let me know if she wakes up." She smiles leaving the room with a wave.
