Past day(they were 12)

On a silent August night,the sun started to set on a cheerful playground.Two little boys sat near the closest bench.(describe what they look like here) "Hi, I'm Maple." a short brown haired boy sat down next to a small crying child. " Are you ok?"

"I'm ok. My dad just kicked me out again. Im Alex" Alex wiped his tears and turned to Maple. They sat in silence for a while,listening to the cars pass by. "So, did your dad kick you out too?"

Maple giggled'' My dad rarely punishes me. I've never gotten into trouble ever,He doesn't even look at me"His expression changed somber but excited in a flash off and eye.Maple latched onto Alex's arm in excitement"You can stay with me! My dad won't care." They got up and ran happily to Maples' apartment. The inside was bright but quiet. The apartment was almost bare. No pictures,No tv,No trinkets of any sort.Maple skipped into another bedroom. "WELP here we are! My kingdom." He hopped onto a king size bed with a black and white blanket messily placed over it.

"Are we bestfriends now?"Alex asked

"YEA! Best friends forever!" Maple replied

"Promise?"

"Yes! Forever and ever"

Alex grabbed Maple's arm and bit into it."OW what the heck" Maple screamed.

"That's how I keep promises. You'll always remember the pain so you'll remember the promise"Alex smiled. They both laughed and went to sleep.
