39 Levels of Sacrifice

Haruo watched Rei's expression slowly turning sour, opening and closing his mouth and trying to find the right words to avoid further offending the Omega. Oddly, the confused and panicking look on the Alpha is somewhat satisfying to Rei. The way he squints his brows, lips quivering in nervousness, scanning his face for any sign or answer to his actions. Ahh. That's the look Rei was looking for but he knew, it was because of the wrong reason.

"It must have been soooo fun—" Rei softly muttered, cupping Haruo's cheek and forcing him to look directly into his eyes. "To watch me make a fool of myself..."

"Rei..." Haruo sighed, looking away from the red-haired intense gaze. "I'm sorry."

Rei's eyes widened and then he felt something crack inside him. He doesn't know what it is but he suddenly can't breathe. His hand went to his chest, clutching his shirt. "Ha!" Rei scoffed loudly, looking shocked before stepping back from Haruo and shifting his gaze away.

Right then, he realized how lightly Haruo took his feelings for him.

"Ha! "I'm sorry"? Really?" He whispered to himself, covering his mouth and leaning his head back. What a joke. "Ha!" He sarcastically scoffed again before—"Hahaha!"

Haruo raised a brow at his reaction, reaching out to touch his shoulders. "Rei?"

Rei turned his head around to look at him, solemnly staring into his eyes. "What are you even sorry for?" He then smirked, scoffing. "Is it because all this time, I misunderstood your intention? That you only think of me as a brother? Or—" Leaning closer, tilting his head to the side. "The countless sex we had? Because guess what? I..." His smirk slowly faded as he glared at him. "Don't need your fucking apology."

"Rei, just let me explain first." Haruo tried to grab Rei's shoulders but his hand was swatted away, he watched as the latter stepped back from him.

"Explain? What do you need to explain when you told me everything loud and clear?!" Rei scoffed, running his hands through his hair and glaring at him. "Am I that hard to love? Huh?!"

Haruo shook his head, taking a step closer to Rei. "You know it's not like that."

The Omega turned his back towards Haruo, letting both of his hands fall on his sides as he sigh. He has many things to say but instead of saying it all out, he just ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He is tired. Tired of all this. Why is he even trying to reach for someone who won't even look his way? All of his efforts and sacrifices, up to this point, are all pointless. He then took a deep breath and turn his head towards Haruo, looking at him dead in the eye before speaking.

"Let's stop this."

This time, it's the black-haired Alpha who forced a laugh by scoffing. "You're joking right now, right?"

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Rei scoffed with a deadpanned face before walking past the black-haired Alpha who then followed him towards Rei's own bedroom.

He is kinda thankful that he didn't have any special attachment in his own room since he usually sleeps in Haruo's room. It makes it easier for him to leave. After all, the only reason he is staying here is because of the guy who's just standing, leaning on the door jamb with his arms crossed.

Honestly, Haruo didn't have a choice but to watch Rei. He then thought, 'What will happen to my plans? It will be ruin if I stop him and that level of sacrifice is too much.' He starts gripping his sleeves as his jaw tightens.

Rei then got a duffel bag from the cabinet and place it on his bed. He turned around to get all his clothes and dump them inside the bag. He sprinted towards the bathroom to get his essentials and also dumped them inside the bag.

"Okay then. If that's what you want, leave." Haruo suddenly spoke, smirking with his arms still crossed and sounding so smug that Rei gripped the zipper tightly. "But where do you plan to stay? In one of your fuck buddy's house? And then what? Use your body as payment?"

Rei can't help but scoff at this. 'Is he testing him? Ha! Fucker.' he thought, quickly closing the bag before turning his head to glare at the Alpha and smirk at him, crossing his arms. "That's right."

"What? You—"

"What's wrong with that? Isn't that what I was doing here all this time? Giving you sex and living here for free. And I'm good at 'this' too." Rei opened his mouth with his tongue sticking out, placing his fingers in front of it in his thumb and index making a circle before giving Haruo a sickening smile. "Blow jobs. So? Why would I stay here and be stuck with someone who doesn't have any balls?"

"What did you just say?" Haruo hissed, uncrossing his arms as his brows frowned in annoyance as he took a step closer to the Omega.

"But thank you for taking care of me all these years." Rei drapes the bag on his shoulders before lowering his head as a sign of respect, smirking. "And I hope you will have a nice day." Then tilting his head to look him in the eye. "Mr. Haruo Katsuragi."

The red-haired Omega then walked past Haruo, who stares at him looking shocked at what he heard. Haruo Katsuragi? That was the first time Rei ever called him by his full name aside from when they are in school. He felt his fist tighten as he felt both of their shoulders brush against each other.

He stood there for a while, getting a stick of cigarette in his pocket and placing it between his lips before lighting it with a lighter. Running a hand on his hair, he huffed the smoke from his cigarette before whispering, "Let's see how long you can stay stubborn this time, Rei..."
