chapter 3

I turned towards the direction the voice came from, it turned out to be  my second best friend. Her name is Elsa Jackson.

"Daphnie!!, Daph!!, Over here!!" She yelled. She was waving at me through the window of her car, at the same time yelling my name. I met Elsa when I entered Greenfield high, we got talking and after some time, we became besties. I knew Jaden since childhood while I met Elsa at grade 7. Elsa is the school's cheerleader captain and I'm the assistant, she always knew the latest gists in school and suddenly I had the urge to ask her  who Jaden's girlfriend was but I didn't because after all he promised to tell me today, so why the haste. Just as I walked over to her car and got in, she wrapped her arms around me and I hugged her back.

"OMG!, Daph you look exquisite!!" She exclaimed.

"Thanks baby" I replied.

"I really missed you" she said.

"Yh, I missed you too" I said.

"Okay, okay, time to give you the latest updates, so ...."

And so, she started telling me everything that had happened in school during the summer lessons, she didn't leave out any single detail. But I didn't hear Jaden's name, not even once. Just then I realize that we had arrived at school. So I got down from the car and when I looked forward, I saw Jaden 2 miles away, so I wanted to go and ask him about his so called girlfriend, when suddenly Elsa run out of the car like a demon was chasing her. So I watched her run till she got to Jaden and suddenly they started hugging like long lost lovers. I still didn't get what was going on so I went to them. Just then I heard the most shocking and awful thing I have ever heard.

"Baby, is this how you welcome your girlfriend?" She said as they were still hugging. And a moment after she said that, he started kissing her. I was still shocked to the core, What??!!!, I still couldn't believe it, so my best friend was dating my other best friend who is also my high school crush?. I started regretting not telling Elsa about my crush on Jaden because If I had told her, none of this would have happened. At that moment I just felt like crying, I felt like shouting, I wanted to run and go cry but my legs refused to listen, it was like I didn't have any control over my body anymore. After a while if kissing, they finally decided to explain.

"Daph, I know what your thinking, although it's shocking but yes!, Jaden and I are dating" Elsa said to me.

I still didn't move or speak, I just stood like a dried statue.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier but I hope you don't mind that we're dating?" Jaden said to me.

I wanted to say a million things like 'Jaden there's something like texting you know, or calling even' I had a lot of questions to ask like 'how? Why? When? Where?...' but of all of this, I simply replied,

"Uhm... yeah, I totally don't mind".

I had to lie. They looked Soo perfect together that I felt like a third wheel, I had to force out a fake smile so that I wouldn't look awkward.

"Baby I told you she wouldn't mind, didn't I?" Elsa said while Jaden.

"Yes you did, and I guess you were right after all." He replied.

"I'm always right baby", she said then she winked at him...
