An unexpected encounter

*Tuck tuck tuck* the sound of small footsteps could be heard

I was on my way back to the cave, I just sent Iris into the road way, so right now I'm back to being a loner

Over all I got a lot of info from her even though she barely knew them, I even get a chance to know about her personal life

"Life truely isnt nice huh" I can't tell exactly how she'll fare her life, but... as long that shes a resident of this world I believe she knew a thing or two and can make it atleast, she even has a resolute face when she made her decision

I kinda get her when she said she'll better go now before she starts to depend to someone for a living, It may have been also the effect of my past life, where I encountered many sorts of troubles that I can completely relate on her

Its a shame tho, I'm really planing to go with her if not for that crater I made and the mysteries about myself that should be still hidden around here, whether I succeeded or not, its a worth trying out

*Tuck tuck tuck*

My senses kinda pickup a strange premonition, something is not right, and its making me feel goose bumps out of the sudden. Whether its a girls premonition or some sort of like danger sense, I clearly have no idea

"The sounds, why is it so quiet?" picking out the strange abnormality, something is definitely off here, something like this should be a good sign as there are no possible threats around, but it also indicates that there are no lives around, only the regular fluttering noises of trees and leaves being led by the wind could be heard

At most it should be a peaceful theme, but then the feeling I'm having. I cant be blamed for being so careful, this place still has monsters lurking around and it would never change just for a couple of seconds of peace

For a split second, I felt sharp tingling sense on my body that felt like it got numbed on the area around my feet. This is one hell of a kind premonition

Out of pure shock, my mind fell into confusion and before I could do anything, a sudden straight line of white hit my left leg, directly making my vision flicker out of pain, I weakly fall into my knee

"Ugggghhhh, rrrhhh...." I tried my best to hold my voice as much as possible, this is the most painful thing I've experienced so far aside from the pain I experienced when dying, and the terror of death still hasn't left me as its only been a few days since it happen, something like, a pain of this level could push me into traumatized

I quickly held into the white line and felt its toughness, I noticed that its also a very long line coming from behind trees as if it was a thread

As I observed it, not long after, I herd noises of something like falling down trees, followed suit by a sudden loud shriek

"Hiiii!" When my eyes traced the noice, what greeted me is a very large spider with its long legs that could even reach 6 feet, with body nearly 3 feet not counting its rear body

"A giant spiderrr!" I do not have any particular phobia regarding spider, but this thing is straight up nightmare with its legs so wide it can even reach a great span of trees, its slowly moving into my direction and keep on mowing down the trees on its way

I tried to move my leg but it was kept bound by this white thread, it was stuck and kept on pulling me still, its probbably a spider web that was mean to bind me, its definitely going for me

My mind that was under confusion, was now thrown straight into disdain and panic with my head screaming 'run away'

I quickly extended my arms into the backpack and reached out for the halberd. Having it on hand, I gripped it tightly and chopped down the thread, its remaining that was still bound to my leg was left hanging as I tried to dash and run

But not long after before I could even start on moving, the premonition once again fired off, and I, out of shock miraculously managed to move and evade the thread

Now finally seeing the thread by myself, I grimaced at the fact on how seriously dangerious this situation is

Im facing a giant spider that could even spit out spider webs as thick as ropes, the ground was gouged out as it hit, and I can even feel its magnitude in the process

How did I manage to survive that, for once I felt a little more glad for the system, yet the chances of that repeating itself shouldn't be anymore than luck

I tried to run once again, yet as I finaly built up the momentum, I was grazed by the thread. I tried to tilt to my right and evade it, yet the projectile barely hit me, it tore straight into the right side of the dress, and the pain just kept getting stronger, I could feel my mind losing its grip for the few remaining sanity that I held while the rest is under the state of distress

"Shit!, I can't run away here before my legs fail me to move"

I could feel the death just lingering around, and my mind can't get a hold to even think properly, more so to dare cast a magic

I've felt a similar kind of intimidation, but even after all the strengthening I did, it remained and could still affect me

I tried once again to move my body, but the grazed shot thread pulled me once again

"Fu-ck, fuck, why do I have to be so unlucky" my head is getting stirred up and couldn't even make a straight decision

I decided to once again cut the thread and threw the bag on the side to ease my movement for the least

Tilting my head back, the noice and the spider, wasn't there

"Y-your joking right?"

"Ghh!!!!????-..... Guuuaaah!!!" The sharp senses, painfully forced my to reality, my entirety of body respoded and indicated it was left, yet as I don't have the visual of where the spider really is, I failed to trust on it and suddenly got hit with a full swing, throwing me away into the air and crashing down into the nearby trees

The pain from both the impact, caused my vision to waver and my will to topple down. I had no idea this world was so cruel. The pain keep making it harder for me to clear my mind, and the fear of death was now making its way into my head

Mustering my strength, I tried to stand up, if I manage to get away from here I could still make it out-

But I was just sent once again into the air

"Guaaah"

Its too painful, and its now harder to move, tears began pouring down my face as I think up on how miserable I am, and if I couldn't even make it out alive, I'm pretty sure that its going to be worst that just death

The memories that I got from Iris flashed into my mind, and the same as she does, I also felt powerless. Its my first real sense of powerlessness and I couldn't even laugh about it. The image of the carriage passenger's agony kept flashing into my mind as I think of anything, will... will I turn like that?

But funnier than hell, what's in front of me is a fucking spider, of course you would die, however its known that you are to turn into a juice bag first and slowly die by either poison or running out of blood before getting swallowed whole or discarded

Haha, this got to be a joke right? or a dream?, of all the things out there... it just has to end like this, what about my goal and stuff?, was it all just self talk?, I even get a chance to use magic, but for what? just to end up here?... worthless... disgusting... humiliating... Was I just destined to die?

heh... if its like this then I should've just died once and fucking get done with it, not playing with me only to die the second time

I felt my body suddenly getting lifted, and felt a piercing pain directly at my stomach

"Gaaah!, you- agghhh!" I spat out a mouthful of blood, and as I was greeted by the eyes of this disgusting spider, I couldn't make out a way to make it stop. I felt my stomach sending sharp waves of pain as if something was getting forcefully injected into my body

I felt just like a lump of meat, as I rapidly lost my will to live, along with slowly losing my senses, my vision is under the verge of dimming out, it is barely holding on

However, out of all the numbness that I felt, there is only one thing that remained

A feeling of cold and me gripping on it tightly...

Out of everything, I only ever held on it tightly

What was it? I don't know, but I had no intention of letting it go for atleast

"Maybe until I die, just to know what I'm holding on to" one of the terrible fears that you could have is when you lost all your senses. For blind people, they could still hold into their ability to hear and continue to live on. Not however if they lost everything and could only enjoy basking in a silent world that only has them

"For at least-" I tried to raise my hands, only to get shaken off and thrown to the ground

I could now helplessly look at myself, my body is now on distress yet I can't feel a thing...

Ah, haha, well...

I could see it on my right hand, there lays the grip of the halberd, I couldn't even tell the distance without my senses

After all this time, I held a weapon tightly, yet I never even managed to protect myself... What a funny shit...

"Ahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaah... shit..."

My vision was now starting to dim, and not long after, the fear of being alone once again, could be felt, in the end we could all still feel that we are alone. But the coldness that still travel into my hand remained the same

Its funny that I'll die here alone, even after I met someone, but its probbably for the best, or we'll both end up the same, hell maybe this thing could even die by over eating, haha fuck...

After exhausting my body to its limit, and might probbably the result of the poison, I finally lost the grip of my consciousness
