A New Start

Yawn... A typical morning came, or so she thought. Her face was a little too drenched by her own saliva and surprisingly even her hair was a mess...

She combed her hair using her fingers, while wiping her messy face off her lingering drool, her face turned solemn

Somehow, she felt that she dreamt of registering into some adventurers guild. Her mind we're too cloudy to even realize that its true

Seing no lights, plus the fact the she currently doesnt know how do they deal with lights, she only make do with her night vision skill

There was a set of clothes just beside her on top of the table

Wiping her dreamy eyes, she stood up and released a few more yawn before checking up herself

Seing that nothing is wrong, and the fact that she was alone, her mind calmed down

Right about now, she wanted to do something about her hygiene. Its a brand new world after all. Plus her lack of self esteem doesnt suit her present appearance

Scratching her head abit, she tried to remember the few spells she managed to learn when she was on the forest

Closing her eyes to familiarize herself again. She made a thin curtain steam, utilizing the steam so as to avoid spilling large puddle of water on the floor, dubbed as a steam bath

Similar to how you do the warm towel, with the use of the heated steam, it will moisten your body, then you will the wipe it with cloth to clean. It was the simpliest form of cleaning that she could ever think of. The mist was created in similar fashion to her previous Air and Fire heated mist only this time, she added water into the mix

Magic is truely conventional, thankfully somehow its only current short coming, its limited duration was used efficiently. And that is the fact that it would dissapear by time. In short it would dry, or specifically, it would dissapear

She had anticipated a bright future with magic, however the same as the modern era, people are afraid of the unknown, and can only restrict herself until she had a better understanding of the world

Also, she hasn't encountered any form of magic yet in this world. Right about now she was still practically clueless. Whether its the norm to use magic or not, she still doesnt understand. Neither any sense of technology, she cant explain it yet

She hummed for abit before checking the new set of clothes, as the steam swirls around her body she rubbed it a bit lightly to clean herself

A kind of layered clothes, specifically a regular shirt and a coat, as well as a pair of underwear, an inner shorts and finally a kind of pencil skirt...

She sighed deeply seing that her luck has run out and her life as a girl has finally begun. Resigning herself on her fate, she start up from bottom to top

Drying herself perfectly, she made sure her clothes and hair we're treated with air no less than the level of a hairdryer

Putting the underwear first, her eyes were on her ridiculously high quality skin. One glance and you'll know how wonderful they are. Her porcelain white skin screams of glamour emphasized by the faint tint of pink. Even today, she cant help but get entranced

Setting up the skirt, she really cant help but peek at under it as if it was an instinct, earning herself a facepalm when imagining how stupid she wouldve look like

She kind of neglected her look since all those recent events happen to her...

*Click Click* Two consecutive sounds suddenly sounded behind her back, her ears perched up and all hairs stood up by surprise

She realized the light immediately, but when she turned to looked around, she saw Erin standing by the door stupefied with his mouth open

Their world suddenly froze for a second, Erin broke the awkward air first and quickly shouted "I-I-I'm s-sorry!" before turning around and closing the door

Xylene was only left there alone, shocked and remained standing while staring at the door. Her head was swirling around and she cant asses what exactly happen just now... "Eh?"

Hurried sound of running were heard after...

Her mind tried to think about it for abit, but in the end decided to just ignore it. Resuming on her work, the moment her eyes landed on clothes on her hand, and the bra along with her chest that screamed about its supremacy above lower beings, her face suddenly turned pale. Adding the fact that her skin was already white, her face now looked like she died out of blood loss. Which isnt different to how she actually feel right now, she realized how she was a girl now but thats not it entirely, she felt like an old pervert suddenly geting found out by their innocent younger brother while on act with their hidden fetish. No... its hard to admit but its actually like that...

Aaaaaaah!!!, cursing inwardly, her mindset took another heavy blow

She wore the rest of the clothes with tears brought by her shame, her brain was collapsing and her self esteem broke before she could even lay some foundation. "Im a girl now, yes Im a girl, oh believe in yourself, nothing would go wrong" as much as she wanted to chase after him, she just cant right now with her mindset

She had to admit, she let her guard for a second

She sighed inwardly as it could no longer be reversed

Her mind was seemingly abit listless today, even she didnt know whether to laugh or cry

Her gaze moved around the room. The same room like before, mostly created by wood

She checked for abit before analizing. Finally realizing how clueless she was to the world, she held her courage as she made the decision to investigate later

A thin sheet was attached to the wall, the wall was wooden of course but this one is a bit different. A layered sheet of wood, but it was of a different type. It had something like a squared crystal like thing beside it and a switch on the middle. She couldnt see the interior exactly, it even had a frame so its most likely hollow. If her guess is right, then there should be something inside that connected each part together. As for how the light remained bright for a long time, perhaps the crystal had something to do with it, but unfortunately she lacked the knowledge and of course she cant just force it open

Giving up, she walked out of the room and into the dock. Seing the same sight like yesterday she sighed due to her piling stress

She decided to this time directly walk into the middle part of the ship

Seing mens now travel few crates into some pulleys, she remembered her time when she wanted to make one herself

"Hmm? oh Xylene?" Mayrine walks up and head directly to her side

She glanced at her and said nothing more

"Congrats on passing the test on the guild, there are some news about many had trouble doing that you know? You should take the finalization process today, I heard it got postponed due to you passing out" Mayrine said taking glances at Xylene

Xylene got shocked learning what had actually happen. Some memories tried to resurface on her mind, but after the word 'stop', it got cut off. Also the memories was barely recognizable

She got worried about the trouble she might have caused

Seing how Xylene reacted, Mayrine could not help but console her

"Dont worry about it, nothing serious happened. Just know you could actually finish the registration today. Just abit of problem however, since none of us was able to accompany you, because the workload has increased" She said pointing on the people working in front of them. Making a tired face before saying "How about this, Ill give you a map instead"

She handed Xylene a wrapped roll of map before continuing "By the way, this map was personally made, you wont find any place in the city that sell a proper map. Its only a natural thing, specially the fact that this was the capital, they naturally has to restrict some information"

Capital, it was mentioned once again. And she remembered the girl named Iris

"I see" She said in understanding

With curiosity, she opened the map and laid it in front of her

All in all, it was mostly a draft. Several outlines that filled up the place and some indications, all in all, only the business related places were clearly drafted. A few spots for inns on residential district but leaving the whole rest only as empty outlines. The commercial district where the guilds were located. And finally the Industrial district where there are several carpenter, blacksmith, tailors, and several more. The big middle part was drafted empty with only words like Castle, and several other spots with only words like Noble residential district, and Restricted Area that obviously filled majority of the map

The quality is indeed high, if not compared to the modern Goggle map

Xylene faced Mayrine with a face filled with liveliness

"It was created by father. He was knowledgeable when it comes to directions and mapping" Mayrine said while secretly adoring Xylene

"Hmn~ Hmn~" Xylene couldnt hide her happiness

Seing her smile and look exactly like a kid getting a new toy, she unconsciously activated her motherly instinct "Ah, Remember. Do not go into those restricted areas, And more importantly, be careful when you are alone"

Receiving Xylene's nod, she could no longer take it and grabbed her shoulders before pulling her into a hug...

Logically speaking, this could be interpreted as an assault, and the Ara~ Ara~ Aura~ is growing thick around Mayrine. Unbeknownst to both of them, they had reached an understanding and get a win-win situation where one enjoyed the softness and the other enjoyed the cuteness...

Life truely is unpredictable

"I remembered that Erin should have brought the food into your room by now, just eat for now before you go on your way"

"Ah" Xylene remembered what happened earlier

"Something wrong?" Mayrine with her Ara~ aRADAR~ detected an anomaly. Normally people wouldn't get close too easily, specially when one isnt sociable. But that barrier is nothing in front of Motherly or perhaps Girly instinct that is totally unpredictable

"N-No, nothing..." Xylene only answered with a bitter smile

"I see... heh" She was totally unconvinced. Well if a girl said nothing, just remove the "h" cuz its definitly worth noting "Alright, just head back now" She planned to visit Erin later. She definitely has to squeeze out the truth, even if she have to use force. And boi, by squeeze, hes tottaly gonna get some...

"Okay" Xylene went back to the room and said nothing more

When Xylene got back, she saw Erin by the door carrying a tray on his hands

"Oh ah... Ey!" Xylene felt awkward inside, Erin was younger than her but with their height difference, she could only bitterly laugh. She has an innermost hidden instinct to pat mostly anyone smaller that her. It happens when she was young... and since then, its always like that

The feeling of being small hits her hard, since she was used on being the tallest

Erin noticed her walked closer, he suddenly bowed as said "Im sorry about earlier"

Xylene was surprised at first, but seing him bow made her feel awkward "Its fine... err, You have to careful okay?" They both feel awkward, but the tension went down later on and they both entered the room

The food this time was a little different. This time it was meat and was grilled, the cup and water container were also a little bigger

"Dad said me to pass a message to you, they were grateful of your help and decided to gift some of sister's old clothes you. Seing some of them fit you, even Mother was happy"

"Mn? Thanks!" Xylene was happy to hear the news. Even back then, she was always troubled about how she always lacked some spare clothes

"Its kind of amazing, how you managed to find the enemy on the night" Erin was remembering what happened back then

"Oh... ehehe" she could only sheepishly laugh cuz she cant explain it properly

"Right, so you are joining the Adventurer's Guild right? I heard that it was a difficult job. You have to be careful, specially since you are a girl"

Xylene nodded in understanding. Well even if she wasnt told so, she might probbably distance herself from others later on

She took out the map since she planned to head to the adventurer's guild later. Even now, she was still feeling nervous inside of her

"Oh, that map. Isnt that the same as the one Dad made?"

"Uh, Mhmn" Xylene nodded as she browsed each and every one of them

"Well goodluck on you, I still have something to do before I head back and rest. I gotta go now. Oh, and By the way, there is boots beside the bed if you havent noticed" Erin waved before getting out. Since her sisters were close to her, and since he was a male and the 'older' one. He pushed his courage and talk to her, but nothing seems to be a problem and she was surprisingly approachable. At first he was afraid about his first impression that he made before. Its just that the thing earlier made it a little more awkward. He also couldn't simply forget it either. One phase of youth where they started to take interest of the other gender

But even after all this, the very same Xylene remained there sitting while happily eating the new food. No one knew if she could still remember what happened later on...
