Instincts

The black haired Fallen blinked and looked at her comrade that slid down the wall while clutching her stomach in pain. She had expected Mittelt to pick on the new Fallen and leave to serve their leader and Governor, Azazel. Sighing, Raynare glared at Kalawarner and Dohnaseek, as if signaling them to just finish it so they can go. Kalawarner shrugged after snickering at Mittelt and walked over to Akeno.

"Nice kick, newbie. But that's not how this goes. Here, allow us to educate you" Kalwarner brought her foot up to kick the little Akeno in the head.

Seeing she was going to deal with the small Fallen, Dohnaseek turned his attention to Mittelt. She hadn't gotten up from the kick yet, which was odd. Though this wasn't the first time she'd acted overdramatic. Begrudgingly, he walked over to Mittelt and grabbed arm, prying her off the wall she was kicked into, only to see her unconscious.

"How the hell did she knock you out in one hit? I'll keep this a secret from Instructor Baraqiel but if you-" His grumbling was interrupted when Kalawarner's body flew back and violently cracked the wall next to him.

-Azazel's lab-

The Governor Fallen Angel himself had been seated at his desk, watching the cameras he had set up all over Grigori. Originally included were cameras in the female bathrooms but a hit to the manhood courtesy of Penemue dissuaded him. Not like Fallen had any need to use the bathroom besides actually bathing though. He was watching the five year old Fallen who had wandered away from her Father and into the area that Raynare and her group usually slept. Knowing their natures, they'd be sure to pick on any new Fallen they came across unless they had more wings than them.

Azazel mindlessly put ritz crackers in his mouth as he watched Mittelt get kicked into the wall adjacent to them. Only after seeing something peculiar did he focus completely on the girl. Even as said girl's Father barge into his room.

"Azazel! Akeno is... Son of a bitch, you did this.. didn't you?" Baraqiel angrily asked as he turned his attention to the monitors.

"Ah Baraqiel hold on a sec okay? I didn't separate your daughter from you.. I was just watching her from here. She wandered near the barracks of those Fallen you're considering flunking." Azazel replied defensively as he raised his arms.

"Raynare's group? Ugh.. I've honestly considered kicking them out for their poor behavior and performance but Raynare's loyalty to us.. Namely you.. Is the only thing keeping them her-Is that bitch fighting my Akeno..?" Baraqiel's veins nearly popped once he saw Kalawarner kick at Akeno.

Only to see his daughter move back perfectly. Only she wasn't fast enough to escape unscathed. Kalawarner chuckled as she saw a drop of blood trickle down Akeno's forehead. Her sharp heel clacking back on the floor as she looked down at Akeno, figuratively and literally. While Dohnaseek tried to get Mittelt out of the wall and Raynare watched with folded arms. All of them had expected to see her face full of fear, anger or pain. As the blood passed her lips, Akeno stuck out her tongue to taste it and smiled. Her eyes now alight with a green glow, Akeno took a strange stance, with both legs spread and both arms at her sides with fingers open, as if they were claws instead.

Kalawarner sneered, still confident as she threw a vicious punch at Akeno's head. Only to be surprised when her face had been grabbed by her small hand and smashed into the wall before being released. Taking an unexpected heavy hit to the head, Kalawarner wobbled and tried to regain her footing until feeling a small fist hit her in the stomach, promptly making her fly into a wall as Mittelt did.

"Wow..." Baraqiel was speechless, having never seen this from his daughter before.

"The combat style is unique. Never seen it before but it's.. primal? Acrobatic too. But that's not what really surprises me. It's that she's doing this and hurting herself in the process. Her body is untrained and still developing. Hitting that hard is going to strain her body. Which of course means she's used to hitting harder. Or the memories within her Sacred Gear are. Though there is one thing that needs to be said" Azazel focused on the cracks in the wall as Baraqiel suddenly stormed out.

"These walls are harder than steel.." Azazel muttered, watching the little girl with a vested interest.

Meanwhile, Dohnaseek looked at the now unconscious Kalawarner, who had slid down the wall and collapsed. Sucking in a cold breath, he looked warily at Akeno before glancing back at Raynare. To say she looked annoyed would be an understatement. Seeing as how she was going to act against the small Fallen next, Dohnaseek cleared his throat.

"Raynare I think this has gone too far. She knocked out Mittelt and Kalawarner in one hit. Let's just-" Akeno and Raynare glared at him at the same time as they yelled at him, "Shut up!"/"Shut up!"

Akeno turned her attention back to Raynare, a smile etched on her face. She looked elated to fight. Her arm and leg were sore from how hard she hit the two earlier but it wasn't debilitating. She just had to control the force behind her attacks and Raynare would help. Whether she wanted to or not.

"First I find out my team is being delegated to watching some fucking humans.. Then we get shit from our peers.. Now this fucking newbie midget.. Fuck it! I'm beating your little ass into a pulp today." Raynare scowled before hitting Akeno across the face with a swift jab.

Raynare was a step above Kalawarner, Dohnaseek and Mittelt in most areas. Wanting to please Azazel, she trained but still remained a two-winged Fallen. Her hits were faster than Kalawarner and Mittelt's, having successfully knocked Akeno back two meters. Akeno, feeling a dull pain in her cheek ducked the next hit and hopped on one leg before she landed a swift kick on Raynare's stomach, pushing her back three meters. Akeno grinned at Raynare teasingly, as she had one-upped the older girl.

"You little shit.. That's it. No mercy!" Raynare growled and lunged at Akeno.

Raynare kicked at her legs, making Akeno jump to avoid tripping. Only to get caught by Raynare's right hook that smashed her head into the nearby wall. Akeno felt her brain rattle from the impact but successfully ducked the next swing of Raynare's fist and moved back to get her bearings. Unfortunately for her, Raynare wasn't going to just let her recover. Raynare sneered and grabbed Akeno by the shirt before swinging her into the wall and slamming her knee into her stomach. Akeno had instinctively tried to move away or block the hits but her little body wasn't strong or fast enough.

She clutched her stomach and fell to her knees as Raynare looked down at her in contempt and turned her back on her.

~Can't... move... like I want to.. Hard to breathe.. Hurts..~ Akeno grit her teeth, watching Raynare walk away from her.

She felt a strange sensation as she knelt there, hand on her stomach and covered in bruises. A growing smile made its way on her face.

~It's just.. so.. much.. fun!!~ Akeno thought as her body emanated a strange, sparking energy.

Raynare was about to return to Dohnaseek and take her two teammates with her to the infirmary until she felt something behind her. Akeno had stood back up and was grinning with the emerald green glow in her eyes intensifying. More than that though, her wings seemed to be crackling with electricity that reminded her of someone she respected and feared. There was no time to think of that implication though, as Akeno had closed the distance fast and dropkicked her in the face.

She felt the sting of the hit and prepared to strike back but a small fist embedded itself into her solar plexus, stealing her breath away. Her leg was grabbed next and Raynare was pulled up and slammed into the wall. Having enough, she flapped her wings and threw herself back just in time to catch Akeno's next punch and hit her with a knee to the jaw.

"Tenacious little-" Raynare was forced to bite her tongue when the girl spun her body and kicked her in the face with a roundhouse.

Raynare hissed, spitting blood on the floor before she summoned a spear of light, intending to seriously wound her to end the fight. Akeno still looked ready to fight but both of them stopped as a large, burly man showed up behind Akeno. He looked none too pleased by the state his daughter was in and glared at Raynare angrily. Akeno noticed the fight was over and looked up at her Dad with a pout.

"Aw come on.. I was having fun." Akeno sighed, seeing her Father flinch at the state of her bloody face.

"Not now, Akeno.. They could have seriously hurt you. Raynare! Put the spear away, now!" Baraqiel barked, stunning Raynare into obedience and making her drop her light weapon.

"I.. Sir, we just-" Raynare sputtered, trying to make excuses.

"Just what? How will you try to justify beating my FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER to such a state!?" Hearing Baraqiel yell, Raynare's knees buckled as she took in his words.

"D-Daughter..? But Fallen can't have pure-" Raynare shut up as she saw Baraqiel's increasing wrath.

Sighing, Dohnaseek stood next to Raynare and bowed sincerely to him.

"Instructor I'm sorry. We never intended it to go this far" Dohnaseek calmly apologized, as opposed to Raynare's panicked state.

"Hey Papa? Go easy on them. It was fun and nobody got too hurt." Akeno intervened, pulling at Baraqiel's sleeve.

"But you could have been.. Haah.. I suppose I can let it go. What about you?" Baraqiel asked aloud, hearing his friend and leader step in from around the corner with a grin.

"Well if the little Monster forgives, why not? I was very impressed Akeno. Second day of fully awakening to your Fallen heritage and you beat two low leveled Fallen into unconsciousness and rough up the best of the low ranked Fallen afterwards. An incredible display, I admit" Azazel complimented her, though Akeno frowned.

"Low leveled? How are they low leveled?" Akeno asked.

"The Fallen and our brothers and sisters in Heaven have a sort of power ranking. The more wings you have, the more power you possess. Attaining more wings is a difficult thing to do naturally. Nobody's actually completely sure how to get more wings. Hence, these guys only have two wings." Azazel explained as Akeno looked at the ashamed faces of Raynare and Dohnaseek.

"It's their souls. They're not strong enough. Not trained. Nice to meet you, Goatee man" Akeno returned her attention after her casual reveal.

"Wh-What? Our souls..?" Raynare asked, desperation in her eyes.

"Hoh.. That's an interesting avenue I haven't fully explored. How do you know though?" Intrigued, Azazel asked with a small grin.

"Hm... I just.. do..?" Akeno retorted with a tilt of her head.

"What a strange Sacred Gear you possess.. Well, Akeno. How would you like to stay here sometime? Here at Grigori, we-" Azazel stopped as Akeno raised her hand.

"Will I get to fight again? Like them?" Akeno asked seriously.

Azazel shivered, seeing a hunger present in her flickering emerald green eyes. Shaking it off, he looked at the excited little Monster and stifled a laugh.

"Pfft- ..Yes. Yes, I think that can be arranged. Though in a less intense way. Don't wanna give your Dad a heart attack or get him killed by your Mom." Azazel joked yet Baraqiel paled at what Shuri would surely do to him if she saw her baby like this.

"We need to get her healed and showed, Azazel! Shuri will rip my wings off, I know it.." Baraqiel shuddered in fear.

"Hahahaha! Yeah, no problem. Come on back to my lab, I'll get her back in top shape quickly" Azazel laughed and started to walk down the hall.

Akeno and Baraqiel followed him until Akeno stopped and looked at Raynare, "Hope to see you soon, Big Boob Girl"

Akeno waved at them before leaving the two conscious Fallen there, slack-jawed.

"Did we just survive..? We picked a fight with the Instructor's child" Dohnaseek muttered while his hand slapped his face.

"Yeah..." Raynare muttered back, wincing as all the tension left her body.

"Shit, are you okay? She hit hard enough to break the walls here.. And they're stronger than steel" Dohnaseek asked, looking down at his team leader.

Only to see a strange blush on her face as she fully realized the pain she was in. She shivered as her hand trailed up her bruised stomach.

"That was..." Raynare trailed off before noticing the bizarre look she was getting from Dohnaseek.

"Ahem.. Let's just get these two to the infirmary.." Raynare played it off as if nothing had happened before picking up Mittelt and limping down the hall.

"So she was like 'that' huh... Still... she's still a kid.." Dohnaseek grumbled before he picked up Kalawarner and following after her.
