"I'm with you. I'm not ready for more tests. And the really depressing thing is that I'm going to be in school forever," Carson lamented. "I have to get a master's degree if I want to be an astronaut."

Ivy sympathetically patted the top of his thigh. "Hang in there. One thing at a time."

Right. He needed to focus on getting through the new semester first. That was a LONG way off so worrying about it now was pointless.

Carson couldn't help but wonder what would happen when he did need to apply to master's programs though. He would have to go wherever accepted him but what about Ivy?

He really didn't want to leave her behind when the time came. If he could barely handle two weeks apart, how would he be able to handle years? He had always known that their goals took them in opposite directions but being an astronaut was so far off that he hadn't worried about that sort of separation yet. This one was far off too but still closer.
