1 Chapter 1 Darkness

The void is all there is nothing but darkness and coldness a empty vast plain of pure dullness and in this void is a little ball of light slowly wavering like a fire about to be put out in a windy night

It then slowly but surely starts to get bigger and starts moving until all of a sudden it stops and it begins slowly moving forward it is unaware of what it is, all it knows is this feeling that grows with it this feeling of loneliness the feeling to escape what ever prison it is in

But it is powerless to do so, all it can do is wait and as it waits it starts to think, it starts thinking of what to do to keep itself occupied,

'Who am I'

'What am I, where am I'

it starts to ask itself these types of questions over and over as it starts to get more curious about itself it starts to think 'Why cant I see, why cant I hear' as it starts to become more aware it finally comes to a realization

'Am I even alive' as it thought this it started to get even more frantic and freaked out 'I haven't even lived yet, I can't be dead!?!?!?' it then started to come to a realization it had felt something, something other than the loneliness and solitude it has felt all this time

However the emotions it felt died off and went to the same dull, empty feeling

then as if someone added fuel to flames the ball of light exploded to 3 times its original size however it started changing color instead of the pure white it once was it was now turning a dark green

'No! I will not go back to this empty and dull void I must be freed from this prison'

as it thought this his hatred and anger grew and grew until he heard something a voice within his own head

'You are weak!' it said in a towering voice

'You can not escape this prison even if you do have for all of eternity you will never have the power to do so'

the voice echoed in the darkness the ball of light was scared this was the first time it ever heard another's voice however it didn't back down

'If I am weak I just need to get stronger!' the ball of light shouted in defiance

'But how will you do so?' The voice said

'I do not know as of now but no matter what I will escape! I will never give up and I will escape from this hell' The ball of light said

'Don't be foolish determination and hatred can achieve nothing!?! If you truly wish to get stronger then use that hatred and let me be your guide' The voice said

The ball of light silently agreed to what it said then it asked

'What even are you?'

The voice answered 'I am nothing but a split personality of you I am simply a personified version of your hatred and your guide to remind you to never forget'

The ball of light was shocked at what it just heard 'I created you?'

'To be more precise I am more of a split version of your mind' the voice said

'Ok then what can you do to help me' the ball of light asked

'Nothing except aid you in our current task' the voice said

'What do you mean nothing!?! I thought you said you could be my guide?!' the ball of light said

'I am your guide I exist to guide you and make sure you don't forget our goal, I do not know anything else after all I am only a part of your mind' the voice said

*sigh* 'Fine just do something useful' the ball of light said

After much time has passed

The ball of light was still trying to figure out how to grow stronger when he finally remembered something he grew quite large due to him feeling anger for the first time so he decided to try to get angry again but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't grow and because of this his anger grew and grew until the color of his light darkened once more

'why do I get angry so much' the ball of light asked

'Because your soul is built off anger as it is the first thing you experienced' the voice said

'What do you mean soul? And how did you even figure out that I was a soul?' the light asked

'A soul is a center of a being something that give life intelligence, and the answer to the second question is simple, look around you what could this be other than death'

'Than why am I alive now?' the ball of light said

'I do not know as I have stated previously we are the same entity' the voice answered

'Hmmm what's the use of having you if you don't even know how to help me out' the ball said

'as I have stated prev-' the voice tried to answer before it was interrupted

'Don't answer that' the ball of light said

As it was trying to find out how to get stronger it then realized

'I grew because I felt angry but what if I felt other things?' the ball of light said

'Hey you still there?' he asked

'Yes, I am always here' the voice answered

As time passed he and the voice in his head talked for a unknown amount of time until finally

'Hahhahahah I finally did it I won' the ball of light said

then all of a sudden the ball of light bursted with power similar to what happened before, this time however he felt something new, a emotion that made him feel good inside triumph and happiness and as to how this happened

The ball of light and the voice was playing a game to pass the time however the voice won every single time until finally the ball of light won after 243 matches he finally won the game, it was similar to rock paper scissors except it was with colors

The ball of light felt something in him he never felt before, this feeling that made him feel so good that he almost forgot that he was stuck in the void ' the ball of light satisfied with what it accomplished, he was sadly still not strong enough to escape

As he was trying to come up with something the voice asked

'do you want to leave this place' it said in a serious tone

'Of course I do why wouldn't I?' the light answered

'Even if it meant sacrificing everything would you still want to leave' the voice asked

'I have nothing to sacrifice but if I did have something I simply wouldn't know the answer to that question but I have nothing, so yes I would sacrifice everything' the light answered

'very well then, I will sacrifice myself so that we can have freedom' the voice said in a emotionless voice

'What did you just say?' the light asked in a doubting tone

'It makes sense after all I'm only a fragmented version of you so it makes sense for me to die for you to survive' the voice said

'No!? I cant allow that, you have been the only being here keeping me sane so how can I agree to that' the light said

'I knew you would say that so I've already started the process' the voice said

'what!?!? how could you do such a thing, you fool why would you do such a thing!' the light sad in a saddend yet angry voice

'I did it so we can escape, so we no longer have to live in this darkness, so we can have freedom and a chance to live can you not see that this is the only logical choice' the voice yelled

'You can't change the fact that it's already begun what's done is done and we can only look to the future' the voice said

'What do you mean "we" if I'm the only one that leaves than all the time we spent together it wont mean anything' the ball of light said

The ball of light now visibly shaking grew twice its size again now experiencing a new emotion, sadness

'Cant you see what your saying is meaningless we are the same!?!?' the voice said

'That's exactly why, we are the same if I lose you I'm losing a part of myself!? Ill be losing the only being in existence I've known, you are the only reason I'm still sane and your saying that your existence is meaningless!?!' the ball of light said

'Its pointless to argue since its already started' the voice said

'Then why? for what reason did you sacrifice yourself?!' the light said

'To make us stronger! I am sacrificing myself to help us survive I will forever be with you but instead of being someone just to talk to I can be useful ill be able to help! Isn't that what you've always wanted for me to be useful' the voice said

'What do you mean useful you've always been useful if it wasn't for you I would have become an empty shell of what I am long ago' the ball of light

'I am making my existence helpful once we escape we can grow stronger faster and ill always be able to organize all our knowledge so you don't have to, I can remember what you forget I can solve the problems you don't know the answers to cant you see this is the most useful thing I can do for us' the voice said

'Is that all you think I see you as?' the light said

'We have the same mind I know this is hard for you but Its to late to stop me as the process has already started' the voice said

all of a sudden the ball of light dimmed for a split moment then went back to the same level of brightness as before like nothing happened however the ball of light felt as if a hole was in his mind as if he was now truly alone now and he asked

'Hey you still there'

knowing that no one was going to answer he felt that emotion again as it took over him completely and finally

He broke free.
