12 Chapter 11

HADES POV:

The doctor led us to the private room, clearly frightened by the men behind him. By this point I was steaming with anger. The doctor immediately walked out of the room and left all of us in the room. I turned off any emotion and turned to Marcello, "We will be leaving to go back home whenever she is out of the hospital."

"I understand." Marcello said clearly choking back tears with a guilty look. "Hades, I know I haven't been fair to you. You have better interests in mind, and you know what is best. I sincerely apologize to taking initiative, I should have left to decision to you. Because of me, she is hurt, because of me she is here, I hurt her. Whatever you think would be the best option in this case will be supported by me. You're my son, and Persephone is my daughter. All I ask is that you take my apology into consideration. If you wish, you can stay at a safe house somewhere. Whatever you choose to do is fine by me. I thoroughly apologize, and I see how my actions have affected you. I am so sorry." Marcello's apology echoed through my head as he walked out of the room with one stray tear falling down his face. I believe that he was going to the cafeteria, I followed him out of the room and into the cafe.

"Marcello." I caught his attention coldly.

He turned to me with a broken face, "I have a plan." I stated. "I would like to hire your most trained bodyguard and one of our close friends to stay with Persephone throughout school and throughout every time she goes out. I want them right behind her. I do want her to go to school due to her request. I will be along with her along with her bodyguards. And you are forgiven Marcello. If anything else happens to her in your house, I swear to god I will rip you apart." I stated, then walked away.

PERSEPHONE POV:

I felt like I was floating. In an empty land with a feeling of numbness, not the bad kind but the kind you feel when nothing good nor bad is happening. I felt absolutely nothing until I felt absolutely everything. I felt pain everywhere and I heard voices around me. What's going on?

"She's waking up!" someone shouted from my left.

I turned to see a nurse with the prettiest brown completion with the curliest hair. I wished I looked like her. She looked concerned and spoke, "Hi Persephone, I'm nurse Yvonne." she said it a sweet tone.

I shyly smiled and gave her a small wave. She smiled back and handed me Ollie, I as quick as possibly took Ollie and dug my face into his belly. "Thank you." I meekly said, "Do you know where Hades is?" I looked at her with my head tilted.

"I do! Let me go get him for you!" She said smiling.

I nodded and laid my head back and closed my eyes. Minutes later I heard the steps of my twin brother, I opened my eyes back up and smiled. He calmly went to lay down next to me and took my hand in his. "Hi 'Seph." he said tiredly.

"Hi Hades!" He looked like he hadn't slept in weeks.

He looked at me and smiled. He clearly needed sleep. I threaded my hand in his and kissed the back of it. "I'm alright."

Hades looked at me and sighed, "Persephone I shouldn't have left you alone. I wasn't there to protect you, I'm so so sorry."

I never understood why Hades felt like he had to always be there. Eventually we won't have the chance to be close forever, not to sound ungrateful. I just feel so dependent and I feel weak. I can hardly do anything myself and I can't even fight. I want to learn how to protect myself. When I played hide and seek with Pierre, I usually walked by the gym to see everyone sparring. I want to fight, I want to be strong, I want to be like them. And I'm going to do it, whether anyone likes it or not.
