Asger had taken Lagertha away after delivering the killing blow to Gudleif, he gave him an honourable death and granted him Valhalla.

They had gotten all the information they needed and Asger was impressed by Lagertha's wits.

She had managed to convince the man who was her enemy to spill secrets but why did he trust her to keep her word?

Asger knew that this could easily have been a ploy to get information and still deny Valhalla, he was her enemy after all.

"Why did you grant him Valhalla?" Asger questioned Lagertha, who was seated on the floor.

She needed to rest but she looked at Asger, her eyes conveying her exhaustion.

"He was my enemy just as I was his but that doesn't make either of us less of a warrior. We are simply on different sides, each fighting for what we believe is right," Lagertha said.

She didn't know who attacked her but crossing swords with Gudleif, she knew he wasn't the one that administered the poison.
