Chapter 13: Spar, Exposed

"I smell sake!"

Tsunade spoke in an excited voice.

Yet before she could get a reply a figure rushed to her embrace.

"Nee-chan!"

A wide smile Katomo was hugging her like a koala as he rubbed his face against her lower breasts and abdomen.

Izuryu put a hand above his chest as he rubbed, trying to ease the non-existent pain his heart.

"Katomo!"

Tsunade exclaimed with a smile as she hugged him back.

She messed up his hair and asked.

"Why are you here?"

"To meet you!"

*Smack!*

"To bring supplies to the base and bring intel back to Konoha."

Tsunade nodded as she looked back at the sake bottles while drooling.

'To think my cute little brother has brought me sake…'

This Tsunade who hadn't lost anyone was cheerful.

The despair and loss she would feel hadn't come.

She was just a sister, a granddaughter, a shinobi. Not the woman who had lost everything.

As Izuryu watched Tsunade's interactions with Katomo, the lonely figure sitting on the bench after sending her friend to his death overlapped with her figure.

'Maybe I'll change her future…'

Izuryu smiled to himself as he made the decision.

"When will you be leaving?" Tsunade asked Katomo.

Katomo looked at Izuryu for the answer.

Tsunade followed Katomo's gaze as she looked over at Izuryu's figure standing alone.

"Oh, I didn't notice you there, I'm sorry."

Izuryu waved his hands with a smile as he replied,

"It's fine."

"So, when will you be leaving?"

Izuryu thought about it for a moment as he gave her an answer.

"We'll be monitoring the border to see the situation for a week or so, then we'll go back with the collected information."

"I see. Follow me then, both of you."

She nodded as she stood and beckoned to both of them. She walked outside the supply warehouse cheerfully with a sake bottle in her hand.

The two followed her as they reached a watchtower, alongside a series more in line. Most made out of stone, presumably by shinobi.

There was a large area in front of the wall. If you looked properly, you could barely make out the Amegakure base on the other side.

"This is the area where most battles happen. Well, I say battles but it's mostly small scuffles with both sides retreating most of the time. Probing for the other side's strength."

Izuryu nodded and recorded it within a scroll.

"What about the casualties?"

"Not a lot, maybe 1 or 2 in a week or two, most falling for the traps within the field."

Izuryu was surprised by the casualty count but nonetheless, recorded it down.

This continued for a while, with Izuryu asking questions and Tsunade answering with the statistics.

"Alright, I've written the statistics of the current situation in the base. We'll be in the base for a week or so monitor and record the scuffles that happen."

Tsunade nodded as she chugged some sake down her throat, releasing a sigh of satisfaction every time.

Meanwhile, Katomo was happy just to be able to spend a week with his sister.

2 days passed with Izuryu monitoring the situation around the base.

When he was doing his daily border patrol, Izuryu spotted a chakra signature under the ground.

"Intruders?"

Izuryu frowned as he kept monitoring them. If the shinobi dared to attack or infiltrate, then they'd turn to fertilizer.

Just as he thought, the shinobi tried to get under the wall and infiltrate the border.

Izuryu snorted and stomped on the ground.

The ground quickly started sinking in. As the ground created a 5 meter deep, a crack formed around the earth and a figure jumped upwards.

It was a rain shinobi who was wearing the uniform of Hanzo's troop.

The shinobi looked at Izuryu figure as the glowing red eyes instantly caught his attention in the rainy environment.

Yet that was his mistake.

His body instantly stopped jumping as he fell to the ground.

Stab!

Izuryu stabbed into the rain shinobi's head as he instantly died.

"Hmph! Only sending one chunin level, Hanzo must really think low of Konoha."

Izuryu shook his head and shed the blood off of his blade as the body of the shinobi was buried under the ground and quickly disintegrated into mush due to the weight of the soil on his body.

Izuryu walked towards Tsunade's tent to see Katomo sparring with Tsunade.

The ground had been destroyed quite a lot, it seemed like they had been sparring for quite some time.

"Earth Style: Great Earth Alteration!"

The ground quickly turned into many spiky pillars. Tsunade jumped and gathered chakra into her hand as she punched down and the pillars cracked into pieces that made dust rise up everywhere even in the rain.

Katomo brought out a scroll and injected chakra as tens of kunai and shuriken appeared on the air.

"Wind Style: Weapon Storm!"

A raging wind carried the weapons on the air as they made a screeching sound. The weapons cut through the air and moved towards Tsunade.

Tens of kunai and shuriken that were aimed at Tsunade were met with her fist. She punched towards them as a wave of air moved towards the kunai and shuriken.

Yet before the air wave reached the kunai and shuriken a transformation smoke explosion sounded as Katomo punched towards Tsunade.

Tsunade crossed her arms as she flew a few meters backwards.

Katomo jumped towards her as he punched her again but his fist was met by Tsunade's.

Sounds of bone cracking echoed for a moment until Katomo exploded into smoke. It was just a shadow clone.

The weapon storm revealed Katomo making hand-signs. His chest swelled up with water that was ejected from his mouth as a water jutsu.

"Water Style: Water Dragon Wave!"

A large water dragon shot towards Tsunade as Katomo performed another jutsu.

"Lightning Water Combination: Electric Water Dragon Tsunami!"

The water dragon had water flowing through it as lightning flashed through it.

The water dragon with lightning flowing met another one of Tsunade punch.

An explosion occurred with the collision as the ground around them collapsed into tons of debris.

As the dust settled down, Tsunade had arms in her right hand and fist and the water dragon was obliterated into smithereens.

On the other side, Katomo was sweating bullets as he tried best to repress the pain while trying to recover his chakra.

As he saw Tsunade rushing at him, he quickly performed another jutsu.

"Earth Style: Stone Hill Wave!"

A series of cubical stones appeared in front Katomo as they rushed towards Tsunade.

"HAAH!"

Tsunade shouted with a voice that was more like a roar as the stone "mountains" broke into large boulders.

Katomo was about to perform another jutsu but Tsunade picked up a kunai that was on the ground and placed it on the neck of Katomo as she flashed behind him with an explosion.

"Sigh…You're so powerful nee-chan, I can barely fight you."

Tsunade laughed and messed up Katomo's hair as she showed him her scraped up hand with a few wounds spread out all over her hand.

"Don't worry, you managed to hurt my hand a little bit. That's pretty good."

Katomo smiled bitterly. He could defeat Jonin but somehow, he always lost to Tsunade.

"To think you were this strong, it seems you were holding back against me."

Izuryu's voice sounded as Katomo looked to see a snickering Izuryu.

"You!!"

Katomo sighed in defeat as he collapsed on the ground in defeat.

"Haha! It seems you're bullying my brother?"

Tsunade said with a smile.

Izuryu swore that he could see a knife behind her head aiming towards him.

"Oh no! Definitely not! I'm just a little disappointed that Katomo hid his strength against me."

"Ohh~"

Tsunade replied, with the same smile on her face.

Izuryu lowered his head as he looked at Katomo who was snickering.

"But seriously, how strong exactly are you? I swear, I saw a jonin level jutsu right there. And speaking of which, just how many chakra natures do you have?"

Katomo revealed a sheepish expression as he looked at Tsunade for confirmation.

She nodded as Katomo revealed his chakra natures.

"Well, I have Earth, Water, Lightning and Wind chakra natures."

Izuryu raised his eyebrows in astonishment.

Having all chakra natures wasn't very rare if a Jonin or Kage level shinobi did it but to think Katomo had everything other than fire. This was without counting Yin and Yang Release.

Yet having a lot of chakra natures wasn't very important.

The part that was important was that Katomo could utilize all of his chakra natures.

Most of the time, a shinobi that would have every chakra nature when they were at their peak would barely be able to utilize one or two chakra natures when they were a child.

So the fact that Katomo could utilize all of his chakra natures even when he was just 8, truly made the fact that he was a genius very evident.

'I thought I was a monster but to think there was someone as talented as me.'

Izuryu shook his head but felt a little determined.

He was very much sure that there was no 'Katomo' in the manga just like there was no 'Izuryu', perhaps this was a decision of God or perhaps he was never revealed in the story.

Izuryu's guess tilted towards the former.

"If you're this shocked about my fight, how about you fight with nee-chan too?"

Katomo taunted with a secret sneer at the corner of his mouth.

Tsunade's eyes lit up too.

"Definitely! I want to see the strength of the boy who's my brother's best friend too!"

Izuryu felt a sudden ache in his chest once more and glared at the snickering Katomo.

He stood up but using the debris around him, Izuryu acted as though he accidentally tripped and he kicked Katomo's head.

"Oh, I'm sorry~ I accidentally tripped~"

A bruised Katomo looked at Izuryu with hatred in his heart, but he suppressed that hatred so that he could watch Izuryu get beat up by Tsunade.

After patching up the ground around Tsunade's tent, the three moved towards an official training ground.

Around the training ground, many Konoha shinobi were training in the rain.

"What is the Senju Princess doing with two children?"

"I don't know either…"

"Want some bread?"

"Nah, I'm training, maybe later."

"Tatakae…tatakae….tatakae…"

"Eren Yeager?"

"Eren Baker!"

As he listened to the chatter, Izuryu heard a few familiar words but he decided to ignore it.

Tsunade's hand had already healed and her chakra had recovered. She was humming a tune as the two stepped onto the sparring platform.

She stretched her arms a few times and stood straight.

"You better try your best if you don't want to be half-dead at the end of this."

Izuryu nodded repeatedly. Even his prideful brain knew better than to hold back against Tsunade.

Izuryu pulled out Muramasa and turned it into a katana.

He put on a mask as his sharingan activated.

Katomo started a countdown as Izuryu's body narrowed down.

"3…

"2…

"1…

"Start!"

Izuryu rushed towards Tsunade and slashed towards her.

Tsunade stomped on the ground and made a pillar of earth rise up.

Muramasa simply cut through the pillar but Tsunade reappeared behind Izuryu and kicked his back.

The "Izuryu" exploded into smoke as another Izuryu jumped up from the ground slashed towards Tsunade.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

A 5-meter ball of fire exploded towards Tsunade from one direction as a blade sliced towards her from the next.

Tsunade punched the ground and made hundreds of boulders rise up, effectively blocking the fireball.

As for Izuryu, he jumped towards Tsunade with an earth covered hand from the sky, trying to punch her with the force of gravity and the weight of the rock combined

Tsunade jumped into the air and kicked Izuryu's hand away, breaking the shadow clone at the same time.

Izuryu's eyes went wide as Tsunade stood above him spinning, she made a pillar of stone and threw it downwards towards Izuryu's head.

Izuryu tried to jump upwards but Tsunade kicked him away and landed on the ground.

"Wind Style: Annihilation Wind!"

"Fire Style: Myriad Dragon Lotus!"

Two shadow clones disappeared but the didn't disappear as another Izuryu added chakra to the jutsu.

"Fire Wind Combination: Annihilation Dragon Lotus Tornado!"

A storm of flame covered lotuses rushed in Tsunade's direction, tearing everything in their path.

Tsunade stomped the ground with full force as humongous stone boulders were raised around her.

Izuryu's combination jutsu tore through the boulders.

But Izuryu's shadow clone which was supplying the jutsu with chakra couldn't keep up with the demand the chakra needed for pummeling through the boulders.

The jutsu had already disappeared into almost nothingness by the time it reached Tsunade.

Tsunade punched through it with ease, creating another dust cloud. Tsunade extended her hand and carried a boulder a few 10-20 meters tall and hurled it towards Izuryu.

A clone appeared in front of Izuryu, Izuryu gave Muramasa to it as the clone put all his chakra in the blade, extending it to an equal length to that of the boulder, leaving himself with barely enough chakra to swing the blade. The blade cut through the boulder as the two pieces fell to different sides.

The clone disappeared once more.. With a spin, another one slashed towards Tsunade's side, but she knew the move and quickly turned around to block it as she kicked his side.

The clone threw Muramasa away right upon the moment the kick landed on the clone.

Tsunade wiped the sweat beads off of her forehead and waited for another attack.

Yet nothing came.

Tsunade warily looked out for anything came.

Just as she was to relax, she noticed a faint blue light within the dust.

A glowing spinning ball of chakra was in Izuryu's hand as he ran towards Tsunade.

Tsunade could feel the danger from the chakra ball. She had fought fiercer enemies but this jutsu was not one to be underestimated either.

Yet instead on evading, a grin filled with battle intent stretched from Tsunade's lips.

Faint purple markings extended from Tsunade's forehead to her right hand as she prepared herself for the jutsu.

Tsunade and Izuryu neared each other as fist and jutsu clashed.

"HAAH!"

"RASENGAN!"

An explosion of a completely different magnitude spread as shockwaves broke and made the already messed up 'sparring ground' even worse.

Within the dust cloud, Izuryu bloody hand dripped with hand as Tsunade's hand was covered in injuries too. Yet with the help of the Hundred Seals Chakra, her wounds healed extremely fast.

The marks slowly receded back to her forehead as the seal grew a little faint. It was hardly noticeable.

Tsunade waved the dust around the two, trying to clear it away.

"Are you oka-"

CRACK!

The mask on Izuryu's face slowly cracked apart. Feeling a sense of dread, Izuryu quickly deactivated the sharingan. Yet the mask broke into hundreds of pieces right in the moment the blood red iris turned into black.

This didn't go unnoticed by Tsunade whose eyes had been on Izuryu's face the whole time.

Within the dust cloud, Izuryu heard the question he didn't want to hear from anyone.

"Why do you have the Sharingan?"

(AN: So… I have COVID. Even though I got the vaccine, it seems I still have it. That's why I didn't upload for two days straight. Sorry bout that.

Now then, with this fight, Izuryu and Katomo might seem ungodly powerful for 8-year olds in their fight with Tsunade, but you have to understand something. Edo/ Rinne-Rebirth Madara fought with Tsunade AS WELL as the other 4 kage at the same time with barely any effort. And this was a Tsunade with more than 15 years worth of chakra accumulation in the Yin Seal. And within this story, I'm making it so that the 'goal' of the MC is to be Madara or Hashirama level. And another fact being that within wars, other than Kage-level figures, practically every other shinobi is cannon fodder, be it a chunin, genin or jonin. So when they have 'jonin level' power it's really just cannon-fodder level in front of real powerhouses.

Or maybe I'm just writing incoherent shit and ranting about it. If that's so then just turn your brain off and just read for fun's sake.)
